I love the fact that he is seemingly very knowledgeable of American Football. This gives him an interesting angle on the game of rugby, especially where there is overlap between the two sports!
a lot of these player's names are in Afrikaans which developed from Dutch, which is why some of them are so difficult to pronounce. one thing to remember is that in Afrikaans when pronouncing "W", we pronounce it the way you would pronounce "V" in "Volume" we also pronounce "V" like F. So like Henco Van Wyk would be pronounced "Henkoo Fun Vake"
Man, I love your fresh perspective, and that you recognise athleticism and technical skill. I really think you would make a fantastic broadcast rugby commentator. Rugby needs a personality like you. Your enthusiasm and your appreciation and excitement when you recognise amazing athleticism, or skill, or just men being proper men, is absolutely fantastic!
Thanks so much Graham I really appreciate you and your kind comments. It means a lot. I would love to broadcast rugby, that would be the absolute dream for sure Thanks for your love and checking out my videos ❤️🙌🏽
I’m loving your channel. These young men are amazing and we have loads of talented young players. Apart from the fact that rugby is huge here in South Africa, remember who inspires these youngsters, who are their hero’s. Rassie is a very wise man😁🇿🇦
As soon as you watch the schoolboy rugby, you'll understand why we're tops. There was a schools rugby tournament for instance this whole Easter weekend 😍
When you get a penalty you can either kick for goal or the touchline, or you can take a tap and run. Taps are preferred close to the opposing goal line when you need more points.
You should watch Chasing the sun. Its amazing and It gives a great view behind the scenes and a more personal connection to the players and team culture.
When you get a penalty, you have 3 options. Kick for the post and get 3 points. Kick for posesion, by kicking it out of the side lines. Tap and go, gaining no possession or points but keep possession of the ball.
Hey man. Do you have a video on you and your back story. Are you an NFL coach? How long have you been interested in Rugby? Did you study coaching? It would be interesting to know these things. If coaching isn't your job then it should be. You really know what's what.
Hey JJ! I don't have a video on my backstory currently. I got more interested in rugby this year after my first LRZ video which was completely random. My friend Josh from Wales wanted to get my perspective on a rugby athlete moving into the NFL because I played college football I didn't study coaching or anything. I played football my entire life and really love researching and analyzing. My background is in Computer Science and Mathematics, but my passion is athletic performance, nutrition, and health When I finished football I competed in natural bodybuilding, then Crossfit. Now I train to stay in shape. I appreciate your question. I'll make a background video and talk more about my past for sure Thanks for your kind words and feedback. It means a lot to me. I appreciate you!
I appreciate you Reaper! It's all good. I appreciate you for all of your support and connection. I've learned a lot from you and we'll continue to have fun and grow together 🙌🏽
For the little taps you can get from penalties/ free kicks. For any penalty there are 4 options: kick to touch, scrum, kick at posts or tap. Being in the red zone and getting a play like that could push you over as you only have to make five metres. Teams would make decisions depending on where they are on the pitch.
Grant Williams already world cup winner 2023. He is currently the fastest player, especially halfback. In the Romania vs. SA, Grant played right wing. Like the majority of the Springboks, the back line, he is also a utility player. Tapping is a free kick option
@QSNgg it is heart warming to see people wanting to learn about rugby. Showing interest in a sport we all love. As South Africans we are a big rugby nation the glue that still keep us together. You really should check out real rugby on UA-cam there you will find pure compilations of all rhe springbok players. Keep an eye out in my we playing walse at Twickenham, then the Ireland 2 tests tour in South Africa and Portugal 1 game. Then November All blacks tour also in South Africa. We have so much new talent joining the ranks it is exciting. I hope you are Watch chasing the sun documentary.
You can take the tap or a kick to poles or ask for a scrum or kick the ball out of bounds for an attacking line out throw it all depends on the game situation and the position on the field the penalty was awarded to your team.
The "tap and go" is an option you can take off of a free kick. Essentially its just a kick. You can kick for touch or open field, tap (kick) and run it or opt for a scrum with your feed in. If you kick out you lose possession though. Only on a kick out off a penalty will you retain the throw in.
You could also take this option off of a full penalty but usually or in practice it is mostly used off a free kick. Most teams will prefer the line-out feed off a kick for touch if you have the throw in on a full penalty.
Your willingness to learn a new game is great. (I believe the USA is a sleeping giant) I am South Africa and I coach primary school rugby. The talent we have here is great, but once you see the development and coaching that takes place from primary (elementary school) school all the way to university, you'll understand why we have such depth. Much like football for you guys over there. I enjoy your videos👌

So for the school boy please search Luyanda Kunene from maritzburg college and for the tap it’s for something like offside or high tackle of any penalty you can tap and go but the ball must come and like of ur foot
South African rugby is Brazilian football right now. Beaming with talent. As usual. I hope manage and help them develop properly. Not all of them will dawn the mighty green and gold, but definitely great prospects.

Thanks so much Anna! I appreciate you and the kind words. Yeah our USA 7s team is really good and our XVs I haven't heard much about. We still have work to do on our rugby in the nations
When awarded a penalty which is short for penalty kick, you need to kick the ball. This includes simply putting the ball on the floor and just tapping it with your foot which then counts as a kick. It all depends on what the captain deems will give his team the largest probability of scoring a try. For example, should penalties be awarded closer to the touch line from say anything within 30 meters from the tryline, you'll often see teams kick for touch into the corner which will then give them the throw in at the lineout from where they can set up a maul. Penalties given 5 meter from the tryline and say closer to the centre of the pitch will often result in the captain calling a scrum, but they also have the option of just tapping it and giving it to the big men to burst over the line! I must say, you see more and more teams utilising the 5 meter tap option nowadays (other than at school where there is usually that one massive kid) which was a trend started by the Bulls a few seasons back! The captain also have the option of kicking at goal. This will mean walking back in line from where the penalty was given to give the kicker a reasonable angle to the posts for 3 points vs the potential 7 from a try.
Another amazing reaction brother🙌🏽💯🫶🏽 Fiji Drua is on their 3rd year in Super Rugby. Their 2nd year the made it to the Quarterfinals and Please can you do some reactions on Drua Best Tires in 2022. You’ll be on your feet the whole time.💯💯💯💯
That scrumhalf Grant Williams is the fastest guy in the Springbok squad, he's faster than most wingers. Also, this video didn't have Hacjivah Dayimani (flanker/8th Man for the Stormers) for some reason, he's one of the best young player in SA.
South Africa has the biggest school boys rugby game in the world!!!!! it is paarl Gimnasium vs Paarl boys High. the staduim holds about 30,000 people and is full every year they play and is watched by even more people on the tv
AH man as a South African, I love your videos. I can't believe your knowledge is already so good just off a few videos. All the other people I watch that react to rugby are well not as smart to put it lightly. So just to clear up some things. Most of the people you saw in this video are ages 20-28. I think Elrigh Louw was the oldest in the video, but people like Sacha Mngumozulu are only 20 years old same with Ruan Venter, Henco Van Wyk, are all under 25 years old which is crazy that they just got out of school. To also explain like the back row and outside back terminology. Outside back is 11,,,,, 14,,,,, and 15. So they can play anywhere in that positions. Back row is 6,,,, 7 ,,,,, and 8. So they can play any of those positions. You get players that you can call versitile, that means they can play almost like anywhere on the field, most of the players come from 7's. which if you don't know sevens is rugby, but with only seven guys and they don't have like the URC tournements and those type of stuff. And to explain some of the jerseys here, In South Africa there are seperate teams, that are not international teams if you understand, Like Pretoria has the Bulls, Cape Town Is the Stormers, Kwazulu-Natal is the Sharks and so on, so all the cities of countries in south africa have a rugby team playing. Those rugby teams hold the international rugby teams players. Like Canan Moodie Plays for the bulls Kurt-lee Arendse also for the bulls, Sacha plays for the Stormers and so on. And some of the big big players like Cheslin Kolbe, go to Japan and play for their rugby clubs, because they get offered a lot of money, but they still play for the Springboks for international test matches. There are a few South African players that have completely moved to other lands, but then they have to have a ID in that land and all that stuff, And they have to live there for like 4+ years. Then they can play for the lands international team like Duhan van Der Mervwe Is south african, but moved to Scotland to play there. The tap and go's you can set up from a penalty, but it is usually only taken when they are close to the try-line
Thank you so much for this incredibly detailed and insightful comment! I'm truly humbled by your kind words about my videos and rugby knowledge. It means a lot coming from a South African fan, given your country's rich rugby heritage. I really appreciate you taking the time to explain so many aspects of South African rugby. The information about player ages is fascinating - it's incredible to think that talents like Sacha Mngumozulu and Ruan Venter are still so young! Your explanations of rugby terminology and positions are super helpful. I'll definitely keep the outside back (11, 14, 15) and back row (6, 7, 8) positions in mind for future videos. And thanks for clarifying about versatile players and their connection to Sevens rugby. The breakdown of how South African rugby teams are organized by city and how they feed into the national team is really interesting. It's great to understand how players like Canan Moodie and Kurt-lee Arendse fit into the broader rugby landscape in South Africa. I'm always eager to learn more, so your insights about international moves (like Cheslin Kolbe to Japan) and the rules for playing for other national teams are super valuable. Thanks again for being so awesome and for sharing your knowledge. Comments like yours really help me improve my content and understanding of the game. I'm looking forward to talking to you more!
@@QSNgg Thank you so much for taking your time to respond to me, I am really happy I could help you. Much Respect have a nice day man. I'll keep watching your videos!
Also called short arm penalty. This is a lesser form of the penalty, usually awarded to a team for a technical offence committed by the opposing side such as numbers at the line-out or time wasting at a scrum. A free kick is also awarded for calling a mark.
"Is he related to..." (Van der Merwe) Kolbe? I don't rightly know but they're Spiritual Animals with legs made out of lightning. Arendse: I'm a Monster ! Played with him (Arendse) under 14-16 in highschool. Loch Ness is where he was born.
Please watch Lukhanyo Am is class, the man has great skill, logic and amazing at reading the game play! Thank you for watching another South African video. ❤ Again, I love your comments on the players and play. Keep doing what you do! 😊
What's up, QSN. You must go and have a look at Bryan Habana videos. Keep up the good work you buy, far one American who knows what's going on in Rugby, and you're still learning .
Hey Daniel! I have a Bryan Habana video coming out very soon. I appreciate you and your kind words. It means a lot boss 🙌🏽 I'm learning a lot with your help and this incredible community. It's been so much fun!
Another banger, my bro! Glad to see you keeping up with the next gen players, but I'm still waiting for you to check out the older goats Cullen, Carter and Gerber, though 😉 Cullen is my favorite; so you know that says a lot! (make sure you check the Real Rugby channel videos on them). Much peace and love from South Africa as always.
Christiaan my brother!! I appreciate you always boss! I have a Cullen Carter and Gerber video on deck as we speak! I'll get those out for sure! Much love and peace as always! You're the best!
South Africa is a rugby factory. We may not have electricity or running water. But at least we are pumping out future Springboks. --- also we HATE those turquoise kits. It's a disgrace to the green and gold. ----- And it's usually a 5 meter penalty. When the opposing team made error close to their try line. The other team can tap and go. (Usually the quicker the better, other times, it's strategically done slow). The captain can call from a scrum also.
SA is definitely a rugby factor 100%. I see it now that I've been learning more, how powerful a nation you have. It seems I'm the only one that loved the turquoise kits 🤣 Thanks for letting me know about the 5m penalty too Jospeh. I appreciate you always boss
Best Nations in World Rigby going by Size, player pool, finances, Trophies (History + Resources) are as follows - New Zealand, South Africa, Wales, England, France, Australia, Ireland, Scotland, Argentina, Japan.
If your checking some promising players you should have a look at the future of the Italian national team, they have some really promising players coming through
Just a quick comment to say that Sam Whitelock is retiring at the end of the season. I think I already listed him as a player to react to. Well, seems like this year is the perfect year to do so!
Rassie’s coaching history is amazing even before the Boks, same as The late Kitch Kristie.. They were both winners… Rassie won the currie cup ( biggest cup in provincial rugby) for Free State 3 years in a row for a team that hadn’t won it in 27 years and never before that. Kitch won the Super 10 in his day and the Currie cup for Transvaal in those days and never lost a game as Springbok coach to win WC 95 Just a bit of history on coaches at the highest level in this game… To me the 2 greatest ever in rugby
It gets worse when you realize who they're competing against for the international team. Each player has 2 or 3 others who play just as hard right behind them
Thank you for this content. You really should look at real rugby for compilations. We are very excited for the new and upcoming talent in South Africa 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦. Excuse the language classes in the comments it is just the nature of South Africans more so the Afrikaans speaking people to correct others. Sorry about that. I am Afrikaans married to a English man and had to learn not to correct him at all times.
I'll 100% check out Real Rugby compilations. Thank you for letting me know Annette! I'm excited to see the prospect you have upcoming with South Africa too! I love the language classes no problem 🤣 It helps me learn so much and I absolutely love it. I'm doing my best to show respect and say things the correct way, so it's very helpful
Bro AMERICA got the ATHLETES for sure get rugby going on the grassroots at schools you gonna be a powerhouse here in south africa primary schools have under 6 years old teams playing school against school all the way up to college / university. High school you have ie under 12 years with up to three teams under 12 first team second team third team all competing against anorher schools under 12 years olds first second and third teams then the next level is under 15 year olds competing.
Yeah your 100% right about that. We have the athletes, just not the experience and exposure at this point. That's why it's great we now have MLR to help us get more experience in the game to hopefully be able to compete at a high level by 2031 Like you mentioned our schools are dedicated towards football and other sports. We don't have any rugby specific schools and mostly clubs from my knowledge It will be interesting to see if America will ever develop a solid rugby XVs to compete at a high level
This is the only american content creator who'm I don't have to explain anything anymore and just purely enjoy his reaction🔥

Besides the rugby we have an UFC middleweight champion and 400m world champion currently.
That's awesome! Dricus is awesome!
Also called short arm penalty. This is a lesser form of the penalty, usually awarded to a team for a technical offence committed by the opposing side such as numbers at the line-out or time wasting at a scrum. A free kick is also awarded for calling a mark.

Glad to see you keeping up with the next gen players, but I'm still waiting for you to check out the older goats Cullen, Carter and Gerber, though 😉 Cullen is my favorite; so you know that says a lot! Must watch u will enjoy rhe chasin the sun 1 and 2
Best wver sport documentaries.
Yes I'll check out Chasing The Sun 1 and 2 for sure. That's been on the list for awhile now
South Africa is a rugby factory.
It seems I'm the only one that loved the turquoise kits 🤣
Thanks for letting me know about the 5m penalty too Jospeh. I appreciate you always boss
Check out Jorenzo Julius aka the Boogeyman, he was a schoolboy BEAST. Defo one for the future for SA
I'll check out Jorenzon for sure thank you
Best Nations in World Rigby going by Size, player pool, finances, Trophies (History + Resources) are as follows - New Zealand, South Africa, Wales, England, France, Australia, Ireland, Scotland, Argentina, Japan.
And when it comes to the hoghest of Level, Springboks are ahead of everyone.
They are definitely in line to take over NZ.
I love this breakdown Truth. Thank you!
If your checking some promising players you should have a look at the future of the Italian national team, they have some really promising players coming through
Very great suggestion thank you! I'll check out the Italian nation for sure
Hey there just a small TIP on Afrikaans pronunciation, we pronounce a letter 'V' with F,, a 'W' with a V, good reaction as always by the way
Thanks for the tip! I appreciate you! I'll work on my pronunciations 🙌🏽
Nice video bro🎉
Thanks so much I appreciate you!
Just a quick comment to say that Sam Whitelock is retiring at the end of the season. I think I already listed him as a player to react to. Well, seems like this year is the perfect year to do so!
Thanks for letting me know he's retiring Leslie! I appreciate you! I'll check him out more and learn about Sam
for continuaty Rassie will need to be in the picture or someone in his calabre as a coach...
Yeah I'm going to have to watch Chasing the Sun to learn more about Rassie and team
Rassie’s coaching history is amazing even before the Boks, same as The late Kitch Kristie..
They were both winners… Rassie won the currie cup ( biggest cup in provincial rugby) for Free State 3 years in a row for a team that hadn’t won it in 27 years and never before that.
Kitch won the Super 10 in his day and the Currie cup for Transvaal in those days and never lost a game as Springbok coach to win WC 95
Just a bit of history on coaches at the highest level in this game…
To me the 2 greatest ever in rugby
Bro I broke both my clavicle playing rugby and still playing
That's wild! How long did that injury take to heal?
love the vids
Much love! I appreciate you!
a tap can be taken at a penalty or free kick (half arm)
Thanks for that. Makes sense now
Grant Williams was the fastest rugby player in the previous world cup, absolute speed demon
I thought so, many would still presume Louis Reez-Zammit was or Reiko Ioane
I'm going to check Grant Williams out
@@QSNgg thanks man, please check out Daniel Carter as well, New Zealand's best fly-half ever, dare I'd say as a South African, the best ever!!
Yes the tap is awarded after a standard infringement
Thanks for letting me know that
Henko van Wyk
Pronounced: Henk-oh fun Vake
Good video, keep it up.
Thanks so much for letting me know the correct pronunciation Ceva! I'll work on it 🙌🏽
Roos needs to work on his temper,I think Habekom is a better option.Grant Williams was the fastest player in the 2023 RWC squad.
I'm going to definitely check out all them players in more detail for sure
React to NRL, you going to love it.
I'll check out NRL for sure!

It penalty's that gives the tap and goes

React to bryan Habana he was a winger for the springboks
I have a video of Habana coming out very soon 🙌🏽
@@QSNgg ok thank you🐐
Please do one for Lukanyo Am. And one for Damian Willemse
I'm doing a video on both of them for sure. Thank you!
It gets worse when you realize who they're competing against for the international team. Each player has 2 or 3 others who play just as hard right behind them
So much talent in one nation! Creates great competition
7:14 you are probably thinking about Duhan van de Merwe and no they are not related, but Duhan was born in South Africa.
Yeah I was thinking that until I saw him
Christian Cullen, The Pakirikiri Express... No words if you think Cheslin is good
I have a Christian Cullen video coming out very soon. I appreciate you Bjorn 🙌🏽
13 Kurt-Lee Arendse please (KLA)
Thanks for letting me now Anna! I appreciate you!
Henco Fun VEEyk ( pronounced like that!)
Thanks for the tip! I appreciate you! I'll work on my pronunciations 🙌🏽
South Africa vs Ireland is coming up...
I'm excited for that one
I may be wrong but I heard Grant Williams is quicker than Kolbe
I can see that being true. Grant Williams is shorter from what I can tell and he's very very quick!
That's why it's great we now have MLR to help us get more experience in the game to hopefully be able to compete at a high level by 2031
Like you mentioned our schools are dedicated towards football and other sports. We don't have any rugby specific schools and mostly clubs from my knowledge
It will be interesting to see if America will ever develop a solid rugby XVs to compete at a high level
Please do a reaction video of Chassing the Sun 2 or Rassie Erasmus
Yes I will for sure! I'm starting season 1 this week and then will watch part 2
Yet everyone hates SA because their frontline and backline are next level...keep being a fan!
I have all the love and respect for SA and the Boks ❤️🇿🇦
dope content
Much love I appreciate you!
🏆🏆🏆🏆....🏆
Much love Chris!! I hope you had a great weekend!
You need to check out Damian Willemse
I am 100% checking out Damian. I'm doing a video on him this week
@@QSNgg only 25 and the youngest player to win the World Cup 2 times. Probably one of the most talented young players around
Do more of Sacha. He is the present
Number 8 is front row

Roos is 6'3, 240
