@sgtrogers Yup, max damage is 28 million per cycle if you zero it but I'm generally not pushing to hard. Just staying cool and alive, rinse and repeat.
Most bombers, especially solo bombers have dropped the vent beam entirely, and are running a medium shard in it's place. Heatsinks are the best way to keep cool, plus beaming the titan counts as attacking it, which makes it mad (more patrols and it shoots at you). Heatsinks are very cheap to synthesize, requiring only two g1 mats, so that's what we do between runs. AX means synthing LOTS of heatsinks, in general.
Titan orifices are also a great way to stay hidden and treat your wounds while another cmdr is bombing vents. Just hangout above the torus as close as you can and moment it shuts off, boost down towards one of pockets in the "arms" to the right of the turrets. Just make sure you're tucked in nicely
I hope the Thargoid game loop doesn't go away with the final titan. I'm fairly new to the game and just started into unlocking engineers and getting into powerplay. When the Titan jumped to Sol I bought the AX pre packed ship and have been doing what I can. If it all goes away when I'm just getting into the loop that would stink. I 've not collected thargoid stuff, vivisted any thargoid worlds or had a chance to really explore all of the thargoid content. Hopefully they come up with something to keep the content around with the possibility of more titans coming to the bubble in the future.
You can still find them around the Pleiades, Witch Head, and Coalsack nebulae. I wouldn't be surprised to see them attack Colonia in the relatively near future. I've personally found many thargoid sensors between the bubble and Colonia.
Yup i got my fleet carrier thanks to the infestation (thargoids are bugs and a hive-mind, so infestation seems more appropriate than invasion) Elite is currently in the best state I've ever seen it, and I've been playing elite games since i was old enough to walk and talk (literally) Looking forward to the future of this game. And I'm also looking forward to the new players that videos like this will bring in. I really enjoy helping people. In fact, there was a streamer having issues figuring out AX combat, and they allowed me to come and help them out some, leading to new friends and a huge amount of credits.
started playing the game today and finished the tutorial, this is all so far above my head im litteraly clueless about 99% of the things said in this vid 😅🤣
As someone that has run a Python Mk 2 as a titan bomber for a while, I'd like to make a couple quick suggestions to help you out. First, and I saw someone else mention it, drop the beam and add a shard. 2, equip 1 or 2 heatsink launchers (1 if you've got the mats, 2 if you don't) and only 2 Caustic Sink launchers. Honestly, you can get through the caustic field with just 1, but I run 2 just in case I screw up my entry. I can hit 5 vents consistently, occasionally getting a 6th. I'm not a good enough pilot to get all 8 with a Python. With those 5 though, I can usually get 16-19 million credits per run using premium ammo. I also use the 'die when out of ammo' stunt to respawn back on my carrier with full premium ammo. I've only had to synthesize premium ammo maybe twice and I've hit 4 titans. I'm guessing that if you store the module, it loses the premium ammo tag. I got into the Thargoid war late, like 3 titans already down late. But I was able to earn enough doing AX to buy and outfit a carrier, plus bank 7+ years of upkeep payments on the carrier and still have another 6 or 7 years in my commanders account. And have fun while doing it. FDev stepped up their game this year and I think they've give Elite a huge breath of new life.
i have a regular titan, you think i could be able to join the event? this would be my first titan, i tried doing rescue but i didnt found new information on how to do em on the event :(
@@nightmarextreme4371 Do you mean a regular Python? Yes, it can work as well. If you don't have the Guardian shard cannons, you can use the Enhanced AX missiles as well as the Nanite torpedo. You'll want to make sure you've got the engineering done to keep the ship running cool (Under 20%), as well as the other bits and bobs needed. Check out CDR Mechan for some build guides, you'll just have to adapt them to the ship of your choice. You can get all the needed equipment from one of the Mega Rescue Ships, except for the guardian weapons I believe. I'd really recommend watching some of the Titan Bombing run tutorials others have posted. It took me a few tries to get in consistently and get an ok vent run pattern. And for the last titan, the community goals awards are well worth getting at least a little damage to the core done. I'd offer a wing invite but my availability is really limited at the moment.
Those human's who were saved and with drawn from the thargoid's in which the majority or perhap's all of which are in quarentine. Leave's a loop hole, in which can sprout some time in the future.
It is hard in the beginning. If you have powerplant engineeed for low heat you will be perfectly fine. Othewise you need to be super careful. Anytime you overheat above 20 you are being targeted. However there is a repeating pattern, once you get the pattern things get easier. Watch some tutoials for the details.
Yesterday I went to the rescue ship and got chatting to some commanders in system chat. One invited me to their PG, where it turned out they had over 300b credits and bombing a titan is a trivial endeavour for them, so they took me along in my un engineered mandalay!! It was a blast. I managed to get into the titan area of the maelstrom on my first try (after a great deal of advice and coaching prior to attempting) and managed to get out with 4m in bonds. I even took the flashy 'let the pulse shoot me out at the end' exfil route. Shame being doing that broke my canopy and I died literally approaching the landing pad haha! Thankfully you don't lose the bonds or CG progress if you die so I would say go for it! It's an incredible experience entering the maelstrom, especially above Earth

The grind is entirely removed. A few hours is enough to get mats to engineer a dozen ships. The hardest part is now unlocking the engineers, but that is actually a very fun series of quests if you enjoy exploration.
So what will happen after we destroy the titan?, is the war is over and no more thargoid? Or we going to push them to their territory?, or they will just pull palpatine move and summon more titan somehow?
highly unlikely, fdev have spend years and thousands/millions making the thargoids. i think they will wipe out SOL wich will tie in with the colonisation update
No way they're getting rid of Anti Xenos combat after selling three arx ships.Either we push into their systems, the titan pulls something out of their ass or we lose.
I imagine there will be a lull for a while. We do need a conclusion to the war and some time to catch our breath. New players need some time to just exist in the universe without constantly feeling like they're missing out on the big event. Don't worry though, I'm sure the bigs will make another run at us eventually.
@indigointoblack oh fair enough then, That's a good amount. I can't be arsed to do the guardian resistance upgrades... I got the modified axmrs, im content.
Same here. Got ultra rich with this war campaign and AX combat too. The carrier is covered for over 30 years and still so much credits left. So credits are no incentive any more - sadly. Only materials or special modules are a motivation for me. I am eager to see how they implement future AX combat after the last titan falls.
ive never done titan bombing before, just did it last night to get my hands on the new fsds, i feel like its a lot easier solo. i dont run a thermal vent beam, seems like a waste of a slot if i can run a missile rack instead
