Thank you for the PSA at the beginning of your video. I’m married to a Fire Chief and have a son that’s a firefighter/medic. I would worry less if they went to more fires. The calls on interstate scare me so much. Typically, those calls include a lot of rescue work and people that have some severe injuries - both of which require all of their attention. Unfortunately, people don’t equate the inconvenience of a backup to someone’s life, they just take every opportunity to speed up to their destination.
They now have to take an extra truck to these scenes just to block an extra lane to give these guys more room to work safely. That means that truck is not available for any other calls. There ain’t much in life that folks need to get to in such a hurry as to put my husband’s or son’s life in danger, or create these situations where a piece of equipment is performing “traffic duty” because people don’t care.
I think this also go for the construction guys on the roadside. If the speed limit is lowered, it’s for their safety and yours. Again, there ain’t much you could be rushing to that is worth those guys lives.
In todays world of get it and get it fast, we all need reminders that there are still actual people behind most of our decisions, actions and words.
LOVE THE IDEA OF THE LADY DOT CLUB!!! I struggle so much with finishing because when I’m ready to finish, I don’t wanna get stopped because I don’t have a trim I want!!!!
