As a composer, sometimes I associate certain tone combinations with taste: sweet, sour, acrid, pungent, etc.

I am a musician and I do sometimes describe sound as a taste too, I think of cadences as dishes sometimes like how savory or salty it is

I came here to learn more abut someone I know, but now I think I have synaesthesia! That was unexpected.
I also visualize numbers in a way, for me they're in a long line in a white 3D space so I go along here for the 40, over there for the 60s etc... I did a search and found some others I have: the year is displayed in a loop and numbers/letters have personalities. This was an interesting learning moment.

I think it's far more common than these statistics suggest. I think the semantic theory could hold up for the letters/numbers association, but it wouldn't be able to explain the visual sound/landscapes I see during music, nor the moving shapes.
