I was trying out my active track on the Ronin S last night. I guess I need to get the hang of it but, it seems like they should’ve made this feature compatible with the front facing cell phone camera. That way you could stand in front of your dslr or mirrorless while selecting yourself to be tracked.
Thanks for the video, great tutorial. When I lower the tilt axis with phone mount, the lower arm actually hits the back arm and when we do balance test it fails, tilt axis not balanced is what it says. Is it normal that we only do auto tune motor and don’t do balance test on mobile when using phone mount?
Hey there thanks for your comment and question! You really have to make sure it’s balanced before you do the auto tune on the app. What lens are you using, maybe it’s too heavy? Good luck!
So after HOURS of trying to get this right.... and being frustrated so much I wanted to return it lol I watched this video and within 5 minutes I had it balanced and working! Suc ha good video. My issue was the PAN height was too high, when I dropped it down the centre of gravity stopped the camera from falling forward and PRESTO it all works great! Thanks again :-) Best video yet!!!
thank you for making this great video! I didn't know from the 45 degree angle! I thought it must be 90 degree or something to balance. That's why i could never balance it with rode mic on top of it. Gonna try this active track with your tips.
Hi there! How are you? First of all, thank you for all the information you give us through your channel. I want to tell you the following: when I try to use the Active Track, my camera starts moving without sense. It seems to be lost and cannot follow the objective. Do you know anything about it? Thanks a lot
Please help. I am trying to balance my Ronin SC with the focus motor. I am using a Canon RP, 50mm EF lens with Adaptor Mount. Any tips if this can be balanced with this stabilizer?
As much as I want to try this, I cant be bothered screwing up my balance just to play with this. I tried it before and couldnt get it to balance at all. Have a6600 which has a heavy battery so is super difficult to balance with the phone mount on and iphone 11. This video is v good though, best instructions ive seen for this feature.
Im going on day 3 now trying to balance this out, I can either balance it straight or at 45 degrees but not both My setup is: Ronins SC Canon t5i iphone 7 What am I doing wrong?
So, I'm interested in using active tracking to film solo dance videos, camera mounted on tripod. I'd like to track the subject at full length with their whole body in the frame. This would allow the dancers movements to dictate where the shot is. My worry is the Ronin seems to put subjects in the centre of the (phone) frame. This might chop off feet/lower body. Can you offset the camera angle compared to the phone angle or should I just shoot from a bit further back and crop in post? Any ideas if the active tracking would be useful in this scenario? Thanks!

Great video. I appreciate that you also adjusted the arms. That was where I was lost.

@@BeyondReviews I am using the Sony A74 with a 85mm 1.8 or 50mm 1.8, it’s well within the capacity, would be less than a kg

Do you mount the phone in top of the camera?
@@jasonhernandez2005 No I don't. I just test it with my phone out of the gimbal. :(
@@holaviefotografia145 thats why it doesnt work, your phone has to move with the camera, so it has to be on the mount.
bro dies this work with the Canon t5i + phone mount? I spent hours trying to balance it and I just cant
