I have knockoff makeup eraser cloths, it was 2 for $8 at Kohls, and they are identical material and identical size. They work perfect, and they take all my eye makeup off with zero cleanser and only water. It probably just depends on the type of makeup you use. Oil based mascaras do leave behind some residue with the cloth but the majority comes off for me. Typically I only use water based formulas so I never have any issues. All formulas are different though so if ya gotta use cleanser it really isn't an issue. I just like the laziness of using just cloth.
I bought the Green Estate ones and agree, they are too small to get a satisfying cleanse. But they fit nicely in the glass container I used to keep cotton rounds in and I use them in that way- for toners. I will also double cleanse with them, use a cleansing balm and instead of another cleanser, use one of them wet to remove any leftover residue.
I use erase your face clothes but still use cleansing oil and face wash. I wash them with warm water instead of cold like they recommend to kill bacteria. I like a larger cloth. I lay it flat on my bathroom counter to dry.
U should try the makeup eraser, or if u don’t mind getting anything from China I got one from aliexpress and it works really well, I’ve got another couple of ones that are similar to the makeup eraser and they also work just as well. I still do a double cleanse but I like to use the towel first and get my mascara off then I go in with an oil cleanse and then a normal cleanse. They all take my makeup off
I've been using the face Halo for about 3 years and have loved it. I started off with the white ones and switch to the black ones because of staining. I think I may try the solar matrix next. I appreciate your attitude and your review.
I'd be curious to try those for skin care if they don't absorb. I do seem to go through a lot of cotton rounds for that. But I LOVE my Wonder Cloth for cleaning my face. (The original - never found a knock off as nice). I don't think I could replace that!
Great review! I have wanted to buy the Face Halo but have changed my mind now! I need to break the habit of using cotton rounds. Thanks for reviewing these 💖
You had mentioned these in a past video, but at the time you didn't seem to have a favorite yet -- so I've been hoping you would do this soon! Watched. Immediately places order. Yay!!💕💕
Thank you for this! I have the microfiber towels too but I want to get some of the rounds. I'm in the process of cutting out single use items all over the house.
Been interested in trying these. Thanks! So distracted by your eyes. Marc...whew! Man you're pretty. I got the Blitz Glitz last year. Gotta check, see if its dried up.
I absolutely agree with trying to do away with “single use” products where possible. My question is this (not to you, just in general)...if cleanser needs to be used regardless, what happened to wash clothes? That’s what I use. Yes, they’re microfiber, but they’re wash clothes. Maybe I’ll give some a try at some point, but I just don’t get it. Not a criticism or anything derogatory. I just don’t get it if you still have to use cleanser. Just one crazy dog lady’s thoughts.
I appreciate this review very much. I've been seriously considering purchasing a makeup eraser, face halo or something like them for a reusable option. Thank you for the help.
Any chance you'd ever consider any of the Amazon airbrush makeup contraptions? I see them regularly and I'm so curious if they're practical enough for home use and if they actually work decently given their price range.
I’m gonna have to try the ones you like now. I was looking for something smaller for travel. My mom turned me onto the FreshFace Towels by Campanelli. I believe there are 7 towels or so in a set. You can purchase from QVC. Love these! They dry super fast and are a great size. Great alternative. :) Thanks again for your informative review!
Ziva just wants to help! Like steal, hide, or rearrange your makeup sponges! 😼 I have found some at Walmart, which are ok, but I'd definitely give the ones you like a try. Thanks, Shelly. Sounds like a great product. Let's hope my cats don't think they're great as well. 😻😻😻
Thanks for this video. I’ve been looking at my wastebasket full of shiseido cottons each week on garbage day and now I won’t feel so guilty. I ordered the Solar Matrix ones.
And here I am using cheapie cotton wash cloths like a plebe. lol No but seriously... I've always hated cotton rounds (and I hate cotton buds) -- I apply toner with my hands bc it has always seemed wasteful to to use cotton to apply it because the cotton is absorbing most of it. I've tried microfiber wash cloths and the Makeup Eraser and they just don't work for me. My face likes the mild exfoliation of cheapie cotton wash cloths. I do use cotton pads to remove my nail polish but I am looking to switch to felt pads which I can wash.
oh my gosh you have perfect timing! I was just reading reviews of these things in amazon. I think i’ll try the solar matrix ones and maybe some felt ones for toner.
I use the Shiseido cotton squares for toner and stuff so if I could replace those I’d be happy! Washing my face I usually use a regular wash cloth. 😁 So they worked ok for toners?
I love that you reviewed these Shelly! I don't think I've seen anyone else do a review on this topic. I hate using the cotton pads! I feel like I'm going threw so many just to remove makeup. The wipes aren't much better. You definitely have my attention on these!! I will be looking into getting some based off your review. Cost effective, enviromentally friendly, and reusable... very happy product! 😊 thank you again for bringing something new and useful to us. Have A great Halloween! 🎃🍂
I'm really behind the times- I never even heard of those😬.i would go for the Amazon ones for sure , if I were to buy them. Thanks for the comparison review, at least now I know that they exist & I may just give them a try. 😉
Thanks so much for this video! I use microfiber towels that I bought on QVC and wash them all the time. We all can do so much to be mindful about the Earth’s carrying capacity and waste. 😋
Hi Shelly, I have a stupid question: would a regular washcloth do the same thing as those sponges? I tried one of those makeup remover cloths a while back, the ones that are supposed to work with just water and I did not like them. ☹
@@ambergerhelper7852 Oh! Thanks for clarifying that, I totally forgot that they are made from different materials. I told you it was a stupid question. 😆
Rosalba Trujillo Not stupid at all! I didn’t realize different materials would make such a difference. I now use microfiber washcloths and microfiber hair towels (reduces frizz). ☺️
Hi Rosalba! Yep I'd say, what Amber said. Most of these are microfiber materials, which seem to take makeup off much better than my usual terry or cotton wash cloths. They feel softer, too.
What took so long for someone to come up with these for more eco-friendly options to remove makeup? I don't want to even guess how many cotton rounds I go through in a week. :-/ (At least 10). Nice find! :)
I've been trying to see how long I could go without dying it, basically to find out if I can handle how many grays I've got coming in. The answer to that is .... nope. I don't think I will survive much longer before I go back to dying it! I haven't decided if I'll stay at my natural color (the dark brown) or go back to doing some funky colors (but no bleach... that was a nightmare to grow out!)
@@goow yep, mine is pretty much gray around my face so I now have to color every 4 wks, thinking of maybe going a red, but red is so hard to keep so ugg prob same old thing, I found gray in my brows, that's depressing...
Paper towels. I think Americans are obsessed with paper towels. I use microfibre cleaning cloths instead. I use my face microfibre cloths with face cleanser too.
would anyone be willing to get it for me and ship it to Canada? I'd pay for the product and shipping lol amazon won't ship here :( Canada misses out on so many great things
beverly fuller I think the microfiber cloths are just softer/less abrasive if you have sensitive skin! When my microfiber cloths are all dirty & I’ve had to use a wash cloth to remove my cleansing balm/make up, it always feels really rough.. esp on my eye area. So totally an option for some ppl I’m sure! But the microfiber cloths/rounds are the same concept just a different softer material!! Plus the companies always claim the microfiber supposedly removes make up betterb

It never occurred to me that these would exist. I love this waste-free concept and this review. Thanks Shelly!!
How good would you say they are at removing just face makeup with water only. I don’t wear eye makeup, so just curious
I'd say pretty good. They definitely remove my complexion makeup.
Awesome! 👍🏻

I love my Face Halos. L.O.V.E. them! I've had them for a year now, and I still use the same 3 LOL I hand wash mine and hang them to dry every night.
Excellent video. I love these comparison videos. Thanks so much!!!

I use microfiber wash cloths, too! I enjoy the sponges more just for the plush/cushy-ness feeling of them. Same idea though. Washable, reusable.

Thanks so much for this, so informative! Definitely going to be ordering the Solar Matrix ones!
I've got 2 batches of the Solar Matrix ones now. They're still hands-down my favorites.
Any chance you'd ever consider any of the Amazon airbrush makeup contraptions? I see them regularly and I'm so curious if they're practical enough for home use and if they actually work decently given their price range.

Coshine cookie puff all the way for me!
I just checked out the Face Halo website, you can get 10% off your first order when you sign up with your email address..
How do you put it away/ store it after washing?
I leave them on a little drying rack that I have on my sink to dry, and swap out new ones every other day.

Can you test laser hair removal that can be use at home?
I will add that to my list!
Hi Shelly, I have a stupid question: would a regular washcloth do the same thing as those sponges? I tried one of those makeup remover cloths a while back, the ones that are supposed to work with just water and I did not like them. ☹
Rosalba Trujillo Regular washcloths are terry cloth- my bet is these are microfiber. 🤔 I find terry cloth too rough for me (I have rosacea).

Interesting, l give them a try. Your hair looks pretty. I'm hoping you'll do a review and some looks with Tati's pallette.
I got an order in for Tati's palette in the second round, which should arrive by Dec 15, fingers crossed!

Lol I felt stupid watching this (the video is great- this is a ‘me’ problem) because the whole time I’m like “is using washcloths wrong now?”
Wash cloths are totally fine! Same reusability :) I prefer the sponges for the plush/cushy-ness of them.
I’m too cynical because I’m sitting here now thinking “yeah but now they’ve added more eventual waste by producing these and all their knockoffs”.
What’s so wrong with a simple washcloth? Jeesh! Marketing!
These are far softer than my bath washcloths.
The one use sheet masks are just terrible for the environment too.
Yep I've been switching to jar masks as I use up the sheet mask hoarded collection I've got.
