As a retired 20 year Army vet, Reba McEntire sang the Star bangle banner so beautifully it brought tears to my eyes. God how I love my country.
As a American the only people in this country that I respect is soldiers and people who fight for our lives but this nation is down the drain now bro.
Reba is beautiful inside and out. Thank you for doing the national anthem with simplicity, beauty and grace.
Keyword simplicity, it was underwhelming and pretty meh, there are a lot of singers out there that can actually carry out the notes and passion needed for the national anthem and she's just not fit for this. Disappointing performance.

When do you plan on singing the National Anthem in a large Arena? It's always been a difficult song to sing and definitely with feeling like Reba did. The other time that I remember an outstanding performance was when Whitney Houston sang it at the Superbowl. Both singers did a FANTASTIC JOB OF SINGING IT!❤

Faith Hill, Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Demi Lovato, all were on a completely different level than this mid performance.

I met Reba waaaaay back in 1980-81 BEFORE she was this huge superstar. It was in the Hudson's Bay High School gym and she was just walking past the rows of bleachers. She was soooo sweet and kind especially since I was maybe 12 or 13 at the time. She was so sparkly & genuinely beautiful. Her voice was so rich & full of all these 'extra notes' that made it sound so complex and better than any singing I'd ever heard before. Why she was in a gym in Vancouver, Washington, is still a mystery to me when even I could tell she was meant for bigger & better things. So pleased to see her success - her talent and drive has her exactly where she belongs!!! Great job!!!!!!!

Do you not have an ear for notes? She completely added a ton of embellishments. Running up and down in addition to the melody. Hell she added two extra words at the end - lol. And not all of those runs were centered, either..

Coming from a military family, this hits home. Too many people now don’t give this song the respect it deserves. Watching the player who had tears coming down his face, made me cry. Reba knocked it out of the park .

@sunnystormy4973 it is still her singing! They have every singer that will sing the national anthem prerecord their song just in case they are sick etc and can't sing it live. She isn't lip syncing if she is singing to her own voice.

I was taught to respectfully stand for the National Anthem . Placing hand on heart was only for the pledge of allegiance. Its ok either way. My fifth grade teacher taught us that and we did it every morning. ❤
