“Teabag Ends” for the area with the cul-de-sacs.
Teabag's butt, given that "cul de sac" means bag's butt already
Biffa, you should make them able to do left turns by the bridge at the new forest area, so the trucks dont all have to go trough the city
The new suburb area should be called Dun' Stirrin; Bedford Bluff should be called Brewburgh Bluff; Thorton Arcade should be called Kettled Heights; and the industry area could be called Teaberry Factories.
Nice suggestions, thanks :-)
Kettled Heights is a winner ❤
Dun' Stirrin is great 😂
Forestry area, adjusting Drake's idea: Teaberry Trees
24:30 I just love this sort of mini details around the landscape. I know the game is Cities SKYLINES, but I somehow enjoy the building of these rural areas more than the skylines :P
and on that topic, I would love to see you build more agricultural areas to fill in the gaps between some areas!
Yes! The logging industry does remove trees, they do replant but then it takes time for the new trees to grow in. Over time your logging will harvest less so it's important to keep an eye on them.
Me screaming at the screen, while Biffa applying Anarchy to build the bridge, because the electric poles are in the way :D Hope the cititzen likes the challange of not hitting them.
Adds some excitement to the journey 😊
Now that you've pointed it out I can't unsee it 😆
Aah, Biffa solving a traffic problem with a roundabout. Just like the good old days! 😍
Edit: All the folks in the high-rise tenements can watch the plays for free! :D
The new interchange you built did not allow traffic to make certain turns. For example, the highway running underneath, you can't turn left onto the road above from either direction. Why not put a couple of roundabouts on the road above? Or traffic lights? That way, people can get off and on the highway in either direction. If traffic gets too bad, then you may have to revisit, but it should be fine.
How 'bout these names Greenleaf, Armaretto Heights, Herbal Bluffs, Chai Crossing, Elderflower, Hibiscus Flats, Oolong Station
Very much love the new logging industry, by the way. All that timber, ready to help make new homes, new shops, and new offices, plus a lot of tables for a lot of teacups!
Fan-sippin-tastic! 😺
I completely agree with you about the 4-lane 2U road, I'm sorely missing it in my playthroughs!
You should have made the diffrent forestry areas diffrent tree ages, as that is how forestry works IRL (Also, Teackory grove for the name)
You can select the sub nodes with move it. The lick is super finicky, but it’s there. That allows you to change road heights between roads
I really preferred the bridge that avoided putting a pillar into the river (which is generally avoided if possible, especially if the river is navigable - because people will crash into the pillars).
Even if you like the arch style, I would have raised the terrain either side to have a single arch instead of two.
You're not going crazy, the forestry industry does cut down the trees over time. Though they're supposed to replant as well but in my experience they never seem to replant as much as they cut down!
wow, I didn't realise adding roundabouts and roads leading from it was so easy in the new cities skylines 2. that little bit just made me take a deep breath calming down my ADHD,lol .
You shocked me in this episode... when you placed the trees on the slope, you said "a little... (You left a dramatic pause) extra detail! EXTRA DETAIL? WHAT HAPPENED TO A LITTLE SOMETHING SOMETHING ! Love your stuff ❤️
😅
if you ever make a Chinatown please call it Lapsang Souchong. it's such a good tea!
In this forest area where you build a bridge, (Time: 6.03) it would have been suitable with tourist cabins/tents and paths. It would certainly have been very nice.
Oh my the ending bit reminded me how much I miss the traffic fix series. Real shame that you can make the worst decisions possible and still not really get a ton of traffic.
While using manipulation mode in the MoveIt tool you can select each of the adjustment points and use PGUP/PGDN to adjust the height. It is not exactly intuitive but it can help.
Not really needed now, but a large custom round about with proper lane maths works amazingly well in the center of a city.
Traffic Light Mod is available
Traffic Lights Enhancement Alpha
Set traffic lights to various predefined signal modes
Guide available here
Compatible with version 1.1.2f1
Please call the forestry area Lapsang Pines after Lapsang Souchong (the pine smoked Chinese tea) ...
I've been asking for years, and you even made them evergreens!
Lovely new industry jobs, traffic fixes, and growth. This episode had everything!
For the tree farm you should do some tall medium short and new growth because most farms have a rotation of what trees are at x years old! Because you wouldn’t want to clear cut your tree farm as the soil would be ruined! Especially since your treee farm is on the slope of a hill next to a river!
Darjeeling hills is sound like a good name.
2:35 call shepherd bush, shepherd tea
33:41 don't forget about public transport
Oh for a cool idea for the river with that hill you made look at the Palisades in NJ. Some towns along the Hudson there near the Mario Cuomo Bridge (which actually looks like that 6 lane bridge). Thinking Sleepy Hollow, Tarrytown in NY and Grand View in NJ for sure. That whole area is so beautiful!
Hears forestry, immediately thinks, "How many Burgages could you make?"😅
The steep banks in your forestry area, are similar to parts of the upper Tamar Valley in the SW of England. In fact those steep banks, sheltered by a crown of tall trees, create the perfect micro climates for the original form of the English 'market gardens'. Because they were able to propagate and harvest earlier and later in the Seasons, fresh fruits and vegetables to be sold in the markets of London. Giving vital employment and extra income, outside of the mineral mining, that was the other main income source for those in the area. Peace All
Looks lovely with the tree farm! In the mtns where I live, we have quite a few tree farms and they build them on the sides of the mtns like that. So it looks very appropriate to me! Look forward to more 🤩
That monkey meme has quickly become my favorite of all time 😂😂😂
"I don't know why it says it's colliding, there's nothing there" the power line in the road 😩 (which I'm sure you've noticed by now, but still 😩)
From my own experience, making a left turn at the bridge is pretty much mandatory, because when the city grows up all those trucks going through the city will clog up all the roads. If the pressure is too much, making a cargo train terminal in the forestry area and another one near the industries will massively reduce the number of trucks, especially if the trains are connected to the shopping district, because the trucks will deposit the goodies in the stores and come back to the cargo train terminal, ignoring the rest of the city.
Ed: Man, I enjoy your videos so much, I could spend hours just watching your ideas so then I can also apply them to my cities.
i'd like to think the yellow car that gets stuck in the roundabout at 3:26 stays there forever
5:36 electrical pole in the middle of the road :)
Hawthorn junction “oak tea grove”
Bradford bluff “Lipton sack”
Franklin field “Elderflower heights”
And the rest hope some other people come up with sum intriguing ideas love the content keep it up
I hope you get to one million subscribers
Me too! Thanks :-)
you should of built the intersection at the forest as the bridge going under the road as a tunnel then coming out the otherside and crossing the river as a bridge
The logging vehicles do chop the trees down. And Biffa doesn't know. LOL that's so funny. Another amazing episode!
eek!
Perhaps one thing you can do with the forestry industry since it is beside the river is put all the processing structures some way downstream somewhere nearby another industrial area just like in some places where they float the logs downstream and process it nearer the ports or cities. Another great episode btw.
31:37 Biffa, build a Missouri left, hehehe. It's when a lane splits off to the right and swings around to meet the intersection so they can go straight across with their own light. It helps get around the poor lane management of CS2. I don't know why they do it in real life, lol.
You should definitely add a mod called Mio road asset pack, that mod adds more types of road like the 2u 4lane and 3 + 1 and a lot more like 3 + 3 highway
Suburb: Tea-land Esteadas (ref to New Tealand), Bedford Bluff: Brew-tea Valli-tea, Thornton Arcade: Tearton Arcade-tea, and industry: Forestea Cuttealeaves Inc.
That interchange is the most hokiboki interchange ever
Nice video! The warehouses you placed in the forestry area appear to be props as opposed to functional. The forestry industry needs proper log yards to store the cut logs prior to processing or export. As it is, they have to use or export the logs immediately reducing production while they wait for the trucks to come back. I sorely miss the ability to specify an industry district i.e; Forestry wherein any building built in it would be related only to that industry type, as it was in CS1. You CAN do it by destroying and replacing industry buildings in the industry area until you get forestry related but it is Very tedious.
After taking some time to think about it, I came up with Pottingham (Pun on Nottingham).
I did also thing of Baggerton but I don't think that sounded as good.
Doctor Who in the 60's started with a location called Totters Lane so maybe Potters?
Apologies if any of these have been suggested before.
I just wanted to say as well, thank you Biffa for the great content. I got into playing CS1 around the time the last wave of DLC was coming out for it and I've been having a lot of fun with it. I play on Xbox (sadly my PC isn't powerful enough) so I have to play without mods, but your videos have really helped me a lot with my builds. All the tips and tricks you've suggested have made a huge difference. I also just really love your content and as time goes on, your videos just keep getting better.
I haven't played CS2 yet as I'm waiting for the console release, but I just know everything I've learned from you will help me out there too, so THANK YOU!!!!!!
Thank you for the VOD
instead of height fields, change to smoky fields because of the industry
I wish you didnt remove the old HC content, thats the content OG's like me found you from. it makes sense that people wand to move on to new things/projects but dont delete the past 😭😭
New interchange actually blocks movements to coming on to the main thru way to Forrest area. Will push trucks through city to get to highway that they would have gotten thru town.
Tree industry name suggestion - TeaTree Slopes
Oh boy, this I like!!! ;-)
Okay I know it's not a mechanic in the game, but that road would flood to high hell and back! I guess you could build a sewer drain system, but that just seems like a TON of extra work, why build it below ground level like that?
I've only been watching since the beginning of the pandemic and don't read many comments. I reckon any marshy areas should be called "Tea Bog" and one of your neighborhoods should be called "Tet Liegh"
I'm an American with limited knowledge of English culture but I do love your videos.
I've gotten to a point where I rather watch you professionals build. Always a great episode Biffa.
Yeah Cities Skylines...I am loving it!
Hey Biffa, how do people go to the left direction after leaving the highway/mainroad at your new bridge?
Isn´t a roundy better in that case or would it block the traffic?
I'll double check 👍
Nice idea with the forest industry. But yes, trees are not just cosmetic anymore. Trees get choped down to a stump.
Why do you refer to the traffic light mod as it is not available? You do know that it still works? You can still change traffic light phases with it. ❤
Did you ever place down a road maintenance building? It should help with the accidents that keep popping up?
Way too many roundabouts for a NA city... we have a few in michigan but they are very few and very far between. You need to stay away from an overusage of roundabouts and figure out other options for traffic, usually its just traffic lights with staggered N/S / E/W lights. So north and north bound left gets to go a good 1min before south and south bound left has a chance to go. It helps with clearing the left lane much more efficiently than waiting for both directions to go before the left turns get to go.
7:03 „oh noo“ 😂😂
oh look, the 11'8" bridge appears at 7:00
Some forestry industries plant the trees according to the contour lines so it looks like a fingerprint.
"🎶Take me down to Roundabout City where the traffic's bad but the roads are pretty 🎶"
I'm excited about the economy patch as well, Biffa. I want to affect my city's economic growth directly... 😏
wish there was midrise office buildings
There are already "more road" mods, like 2 u 2 by 2 roads, 1/3 roads etc
I've seen it, but the mod looks very unstable and possibly isn't getting any more updates, so will be intersting to see how it fairs after the next game patch :-)
@@BiffaPlaysCitiesSkylines oh 🫣 i dumped hours into the Game with the Mod... Hopefully it isn't going to BE Game breaking
I'm still missing a bunch of the mods from CS1 like the road sloping tool. I'm surprised and sad these weren't a part of the original release and yet they still aren't included nearly a year after launch. Not trying to pile on, I'm just legitimately saddened by this.
Cause your slip roads aren't T junctions you cannot access the main road in both directions, you have to drive past the slip road find somewhere to turn around and come back.
The "farm houses" seem way too small compared to the industry buildings around them. My experience is that such places tend to be pretty big (though usually not high) and sprawling... they're not confined to the size of a suburban plot, and having plenty of space for large families and guests is important when you're well out of town.
For a big heavy industrial area, maybe Fill-Tea?
Ok, this power line/power pole you overlook at 5:19 is stressing me out for the rest of the video - more than I want to admit xD
Kinda baffled that you didn't even noticed it when adding the slip lanes 😅
You have a power pole in the middle of the road just before the bridge lol
Ah!
The forestry do actually cut down the trees and replant after 😂
😅
the area of houses with the round roads should be called "Area 51" heheh....
We need the slope and road curve tool for the 'underpass' road
3 videos in a week, nice!
for the 2u 4lane ropad is an mod with a lot of extra roads you wanna use.............. ans you are searchiing for its called the nio roads assets pack ...... try it does wonders use it a lot example a four lane 2-way as wide as a usual 2 lane 2 way......
There is a mod for the traffic lights isn't there? The same one that did have the lane tools previously, it's just the lights now.
You're lucky that move it works for you. For me it keeps crashing my game 😂😂😢
In real life pillars in the water are avoided whenever possible and that monstrosity of an interchange by the bridge along with the fact it doesn't allow left turns and is the size of a regional airport could have been so easily resolved with the under road left at level (the way it is now it would also flood on every storm) and a signal or a roundabout into the bridge. Or at least a compact diamond but please make it make some sense.
but, self-placed trees dont produce wood right? if there is a mod for it please tell me.
Oh man. How many problems single decisions can make. I think you should have made the local road going to the forestry area go below the main road descending to the shore. The bridge would have been lower and all the land raising in the forestry area would not have been necessary.
Ceylontea is a good name
Teaford Bluff
Love the content and the video's you make dont stop what you are doing. I must say though im super sad how bad CS2 turned out and its sad to see all that hype of the game coming and us all super excited to play and then on release the game was so empty, nothing to do no real modeling or designing tools and even basic CS1 tools/assets not even included. I played for 10 hours on launch and never returned i w ent back to CS1 is this something you see regular and do you think they can recover from this?
Hey Biffa, are you going to do some more Manor Lords soon?
How about 'Tetley Terraces' or 'Oolong Grove'?
I enjoy watching Biffa play CS2, but I don't like playing it myself. It's still way too buggy. Tried to play last week and the water pipes wouldn't connect to pump, less than 1 min playing and I lost interest and turned it off. Been working on a big CS1 build instead. Tnx Biffa.
Roughly 1500 increase in population in one episode, nice! 😄
😊
Is it worth adding some fire watch towers in the forestry area, just for safety?
Kettle-upon-thyme
At the end (and quite a few places throughout this build) I feel like you’re throwing in lanes instead of just getting rid of weird turns and signals…
I guess there's more than one way to skin a cat 😅
@@BiffaPlaysCitiesSkylines that’s true! Either way it’s lovely to see some CS2 action :)
Thanks Biffa, I know what i’ll be watching tonight 😎✌️👍
You're welcome 😊
My vote goes to either Luzianne or Red Diamond, since those are THE staple tea brands from the South U.S. not some Lipton 💩
Knight’s Court
Bedlam Burrows
Nice Video!
