pretty good-great/thanks much
Thank you I just ordered a joying head unit and customer service made it very very easy for me to pick the correct one that fit my needs and it's amazing love it
Thank you so much for that information I’m going to get one now
Good deal on the Joying setup! Sounds like it's got everything you want and need. Hi Lefty!
About a year ago I had after market stereo installed in my van & it is a single din Bluetooth tiny & can barely read it with tiny buttons, so this video really helps. I need something bigger. & more easy to navigate, thanks
You'll really like a Joying unit and the install is simple if you've done one before. They're definitely easy to see!
That is a sweet system. 🐶😎🚑
Those were some good snores from our Lefty! 😁
🍁❤👵🐕👅🇨🇦
This was an unexpected pleasure. Nicely done. I had no idea in-vehicle technologies had made such progress. (I missed getting Lefty's update: did he recover without a Veterinary visit from his digestive upset?) I, also, like Foyle's War; very well researched, excellent dialogues, fiction overlying factual basis. No gratuitous violence. Happy travels.
Yes, lefty came around after a few days and was back to 100!! I have an attraction to the British period shows - they societal drama they protray is so interesting:)
Lefty speaks his language very well and almost to the point where it sounds like he’s trying to to formulate the human language 🤗✨
Staffies do that. Mine will talk to me. I wish I could understand her. I swear one time I think she call me a dumb….
this info about the stereo is great. i got a F250 2014 and its got a phone jack i can hook up something like a tablet with. i am not a big autophile but i do listen to the radio a lot when driving. i listen mostly to talk radio. that app with the gauges i really like it. i need something like what you got. but i really don't know enough about it yet. maybe we can hook up on some desert road boondocking and talk it out. thanks man.
Lucky snoring was hilarious
Thanks so much for your videos that show the equipment you have in detail. I appreciate the informative segments to help me plan my eventual tiny home. I follow several van/bus/ambulance travelers on UA-cam but what you are doing is absolutely the closest to the way I want my set-up someday. I saved this video for future reference.
1. Lefty is the King of all intros!
2. Enjoyed the explanation. Pretty neat setup!
3. Keep em coming and be safe!
Thank you for the video. Blessings to you.
OMG Lefty I the cutest!
Good info David. I just sent them an email about a Head Unit for my promaster van. Lefty is the best. I have a Brindle Pitty and she's my heart.
Very nice unit when I started driving had FM converter and 8 track player.
I love Lucky.
Lefty is a Ham... love him. Amazon links below in the description.
LEFTY, sure knows his stuff! how many times did he have to go over this with you? JOYING should hire LEFTY and YOU as spokes men!! you explained it well enough that i might be able to install it,, thank you guys for the tips
Lefty is such a charmer. I loved his intro. With all your cool stereo equipment, what do you like to listen to? Music? Podcasts?
I mostly listen to podcasts when we're traveling Patty. It's a great way to pass the time :)
I love podcasts. What are your favorites? I tend toward true crime and current affairs.
@@pattystuart8095 I'm a conspiracy nut and love listening to that type of show - plus true crime, especially if it's embroiled in conspiracy :)
Puppy Dog is just chasing rabbits 😀
Let's go for a ride dad
Thanks so much. I've been looking at replacing my car radio. I went to best buy and was a bit overwhelmed. This helped another. Also best buy had nothing is stock and could not give me a date on when they could deliver
You'll really like a Joying unit and for the features, their cost is low compared to other quality brands. Thanks for watching us :)
That Lefty! He’s got such character. You two make good team. Interesting video, David…I kind of sorta understood some of it….😂😉
Hi 👋glad to 👀yu anx Lefey 😎 again
Thank you for this video; well done. I've been wondering about this and you answered questions that I didn't know I had! Very informative and basic for a novice like me. Thanks again.
Awesome! I have been working on my rig for a while and a new system is required. Once again you’re knowledge is right in tune..no pun intended..lol. I’ve also put a down payment on Starlink. Thank you David!!!
Starlink... (jealous). Update us when you get that operational! Your new Joying will love that bandwidth!
I’ve had a joying HU in my pickup for a few years, works awesome as a CarPlay receiver. Definitely getting another for my ambulance.
Wish you would build a rig for me!! You know so much about vehicles and getting things just right!
Excellent video. I've been wondering about an aftermarket screen.
How bright is the screen in direct sunlight ?
How good is the AM and FM radio ? Does yours have weather band ? Wx ?
It's bright enough for me to always see when I'm driving - it has radio but not weatherband. Honestly, I never use the radio...
@@TheCampulanceMan Thanks. Could you test the radio sometime on both AM and FM and report back how well it seems to work ? I'd really like to know before I buy one.
That's a pretty sweet setup! I'll definitely look into getting one (if I can ever find a 4x4 ambulance worth buying). Give Lefty a scratch for me.
Hello David & Lefty,
I'm glad to hear that Keira is not the only one that sores. HA! HA! I have not got her on video doing it yet but I will. Keira does the same thing as Lefty, if I go out to work on the Jeep she gets in any open door, and is ready to go. I see Lefty has the same look on his face as Keira when he is riding shotgun. We go to lunch every day and as soon as she is in she looks at me with that same look, to say, "let's go dad", always waiting on me. HA! HA! Thank you David for the video, I have wanted more info on your unit, but did not know what to ask. I will be looking into JOYING company. Thanks!!! I hope the weather is holding out for you, the rainy weather has gotten here. Keira doesn't like to get wet, unlike Lefty, she will not walk into any water at all. Which is good I don't have to clean her up when we get home. HA! HA!
God bless you both, safe roads, take care. Russ & Keira
The pups love rides, right!!
I'm glad the video helped answer questions for you Russ - get one, you'll love it!
You two make a great comedy team! LOL Lefty the Ham with straight man David. 😁 technology has gotten so complicated, I am thankful for those who have the inside track on the components they use!
“ don’t watch videos while driving” wink wink. Hahahahaha
Oh man! I just installed a Kenwood head unit in my Silverado. It’s a double DIN but I would much rather have a 10” screen. I used to use my iPad which worked ok but I wanted something permanently mounted. I love the OBDII abilities.
Question?
With all of your electronics and electrical system surrounding the cab and the living box, would it affect someone that has a pacemaker?
I don't believe so - it's all shielded wiring and similar to the factory wiring.
Well that system play loud enough two drowned out Lefty's snoring. That is a pretty cool system. Have yourself a great day. Hasn't started getting any cooler up there is pretty cool here in WV the last blooper had me going good for a couple of minutes lots and lots of LOLs
Lefty is so sweet im still here in the blue grass state my dog and i love u both b safe
Did you wire the camera to a relay that you run wires to both the switch and the reversing lights? I'm thinking of doing the same, if I get a project vehicle.
No, it's just switched. If I'm reversing I toggle the switch to turn it on.
For the manual switch to engage the backup camera whenever you want. How did you wire that? Did you run the power wire from the ignition fuse, with a add-a-circuit fuse, continue the red wire to the backup camera wire on the head unit and run the ground to the chassis? I have been looking for a video on the innerwebs and have not found one.
You got it. The trigger wire for the camera is wired into a toggle switch with the head unit. The other pole of the switch is ignition power from the fuse box. When the switch is turned on, the head unit and the camera both get 12v so the camera turns on and the head unit switches to back up camera display. The ground for the camera is run to my power cabinet. It can be chassis grounded too but I already had a ground line run out there for my roof fan, so I tapped into that for the camera ground.
I don't see one on there web page for f150
LEFTY is expressing his self or dreaming! Cute Lefty!! I saw an ambulance video from the guy who does tiny house stuff on youtube in America, but he is from Australia I think. He bought a chevy ambulance in America just prior to covid & he hooked up a tiny home to his ambulance to tow it but had problems with electrical shutdown while towing & it would not restart? He had tow truck come & tow ambulance had some work done on ambulance and it still had problems. He unhooked the tiny home and used ambulance but more problems with electrical so he sold ambulance? I thought it was sad he had to sell it. Have you ever heard of ambulance shutting down from electrical problems?
It sounds like either a fuel problem or an electrical short. If he had a heavy load he could have been losing fuel pressure - and that could be caused by a few issues.
I think you're referring to Bryce of tiny house living big. From what I remember he had a Chevy not Ford.
Nice review of your stereo. Finding a company that has great service in some cases is just as valuable as the product they sell. It's pretty amazing how much of Lefty's personality comes through on the videos.
Any suggestions for Apple folks??
These units support Apple Car Play which, from what I've seen, is pretty awesome :)
Thanks for this video, David. I recently purchased a double DIN Joying head unit as well, thanks to your recommendation. I just wired everything up yesterday, including a wired backup cam powered via a dash-mounted switch like you (good recommendation, btw). I also bought the BAFX OBDII bluetooth scanner/reader and installed the Torque Pro app on my phone and on the Joying unit. One thing I am running into is that the truck immediately stalls if I try to do certain things in the Torque Pro app, such as read fault codes, and other functions in the app. Have you run into this? My rig is a 1999 Ford F-350-based ambo (7.3 Powerstroke of course)
No I haven't had anything like that happen. I use Torque Lite, but don't know if that would make a difference. I'd suggest installing ForScan app. If it is able to read codes successfully, then you know it's the Torque app causing issues. There's also an active Torque forum that you can post your issue to. I hope you get it sorted!

@The Campulance Man - DIN = German Industrial Norm = Deutsche Industrie Norm
What kinda bootleg company you work for?
There are some weird people on UA-cam just my opinion.
THX SO MUCH for sharing this. Our 1999 F150 is gonna be happy!
