When I worked as a trucker in the 80’s it was easy to pick up troubled women. I indulged in such activities for nearly 10 years. The second I forgot one of the instances I was involved, I quit. I immediately wrote a journal documenting what I could remember and have it in a safe that will be opened long after I am gone.

As a 35 year truck driver, I have trained many young girls that just want to drive. It's good money and cleaner than the construction trades. My traning aways came with a warning...there us no brotherhood in trucking. Stay in your truck with the doors locked as much as you can. It is the only profession that requires no background check and openly hires ex convicts. These people are not your friends. Do your job and go home. I will say, some very fine people drive trucks. But it is a transient fringe society.
Unsolved how many years, but he can write a book . Good job FBI .

I was a long haul trucker for 35 years ! in Canada, not always long distances but some 10 to 13 hours runs ! but it don t matter, you still drive over 10 hours every day ! And it s harder on runs that you unload and reload every day, especially on flat-beds with taps and all, and for many years i was on B-trains ! that s 2 trailers, 4 tarps instead of 2 ! Now i m retired and glad i don t live in trucks and motels all the time ! I didn t know that was going on so much ! Maybe it s not as bad in Canada ! ? 🤠
I worked at Lomak hauling wood chips with a set of b trains in Grande Prarie AB my first trucking job and they pressured us all to do two trips a day which worked out to be 16hours a day stuck in those damn trucks. Trucking really wouldn't be to bad if you could work hours that at the end of the day you still felt human.
The public has enough fear so information is suppressed. Does this compromise our safety? Does this make us paranoid unnecessarily and have us walk in fear? One statistic that fascinates me is the number of active serial killers by State. I would think we should have a published list but they won't supply it. It is to fantastic for normal people to comprehend and the victims they choose are dregs of society so no one really cares enough to even address it. It might be a good read for crime junkies but the common man can not handle this topic.
Do you ever wonder why the US has the most serial killers? And no its not due to population other countries have high population and have hardly any serial killers
