Here we are with a Hands on look of Marisa in SF6! Marisa is exactly what you would hope her to be, a big dang armoured bully! Big normals, big moves, she is about the least subtle character in the game and thats just great! So for full disclosure, of the 5 characters I have made these videos for Marisa I did have the least overall amount of time(extra time for lily came at the expense of marisa basically), so I made sure to focus on the "main events" of the character, and some finer tuned points we will have to wait for launch. Marisa would actually be a real delight to hang with. Beyond her obvious exterior of relishing physical contests, her passion for fine arts and cuisine would be great to discuss, going through the history of Greek and Roman culture, debating the best use of jewellery and precious metals, and trying out Italian dishes. You wouldn't even have to worry about lions.
Person, visiting Marisa's mansion and commenting on her art: "I see you're a man of culture as well." Marisa, smirking: "Man? Are you that intimidated by some muscle?" Person: "Actually, did you know that the word 'man' originally meant human of undefined sex? thus gender neutral words like 'statesman'. To specify sex, werman meant male human, and wifman meant female human, thus the word 'werewolf', meaning, in modern terms, manwolf. The word 'wife' is rooted with 'wifman'." I feel like you really handled this opportunity the right way. The stuff you're doing feels more in depth than other UA-camrs who had the opportunity and there's more of it. Plus you did the most interesting characters, IMO.
I was thinking the same. When I first heard about the media day, these where the kind of videos I was hoping for. Surprised, but at the same time not, that the groups didn't discuss which characters they would focus on, and agree to share footage so they could each do their own video on each character.
AGREED! Rooflemongers SF6 character videos are in a different league than everyone else’s because they aren’t “impression” videos as much, but focus on gameplan, mechanics, move viability, etc.
I am a lab rat in the end. That you couldn't catch me dead doing cammy trials past the absolute bare minimum I had to lol, once I had what I needed I was out of there and went to training mode.

I've been super excited about Marisa since I saw her character art! I love the idea of a character that uses active defense as a win condition. This is what we need in FGs. Straight up "you rushing me down? Go ahead... and run into this wall." THIS is going to make for epic tournament moments. SF6 is godlike off rip DA.

I’ve been watching just about every video posted regarding SF6 and I’ve been following you for quite a while now; I have to say, you’ve one of the better, if not the best, youtubers dropping information about the game, and many games for that matter, and I really appreciate you taking the time out to do so. You could have easily went into Capcom as a fan and just simply play tested the game to the full extent, but instead you went out of you way to do your best to also make us feel apart of the experience as well, AS WELL as being breaking down all the information you were able to bring back to help prepare us all for the full game. Highly anticipating this version of Street Fighter and I haven’t been this excited for a fighting game ever. Thanks again for all your hardwork!
I went in knowing how limited info was (especially on chars like lily and honda) and wanted to do my best to learn as much as I could, to share it with everyone else. So to that end I didn't really focus on combo trials and vs CPU stuff, just wanted to get to the heart of the info
Best thing about this channel is the extra focus on grappling/wrestling type characters. Makes it my first goto to check on info for those characters. Keep up the good work!

The thing that is most scarier about marisa is that her guard stance works as a kinda parry when you're in burn out, im guessing this will be big since she is not completely helpless as most caracters is this case
As a smoke main in MK, I was not expecting to come into SF playing a 7ft tall tank of a woman, but as soon as I saw the stance and its parry potential part of my brain instantly lit up.
I'm not a big fan of muscular character but... she is so beautiful... Her passion, confidence, tenderness, and look at the muscle she have!... man I really love this character. SO BEAUTIFUL.
Jesus! She's going to be a beast. I always play as if my character was a rushdown, heavy hitter. She's not super fast, but with all her armor and plus-on-block moves I think I'm going to have a good time/piss off my friends.

For someone who said to have littletime with her, your analisys was the most complete I saw so far. I really liked her gameplay looking, I'm so glad it seens she's actually a well made character in game too. Marisa might be one of the most successful new additions to a classic fighting game series I've ever seen. Usually new additions have a at least a little traction from the fans before they get accepted, but I don't think even Juri got this much immediate support and love from the fanbase on reveal way back during SFIV, and it just got even more glowing as we got more information about her.
Ah yes Marisa I mean mommy, I mean Spartan Mom, I mean mo- In all seriousness, I am glad that Capcom finally made a character that FEELS Italian, Rose is great for the lore of Street Fighter but last time I checked psychic powers aren't exaccly a fighting style we are known for. Also Rose is from Genoa while Marisa is from Rome, the capital city of Italy. Marisa is the literal physical rappresentation of a Roman Phalanx and I love it.

I'm pretty happy Marisa seems to have a relatively simple moveset and gameplan, because I'm not skilled enough to enjoy playing very complex characters. I'm also glad that out of all the possible combinations of Italian stereotypes, they dodged "pizza e mandolino" and went with "artist gladiator".

Im not gonna lie Marissa was near the bottom of my to play list but now the only characters I want to play are the ones you made videos for.. Nobody came close to your content that went to that event or pre event period. I hope Capcom sees this and hires you to come back and do a video like this for every character before launch. I know these are just small character break downs but the game doesn't come out for a month thiis I would consider premium content and its exactly what the people want. You deserve a million subscribers and Thank You.

Glad to know more about how Marisa works. Her charged heavy normals and specials are plus, can armor and BREAK armor. Also, wow! Her guard stance overhead has 15f startup? alongside her 16f startup, you're not reacting to her guard stance mixups, not to mention her grab from said stance. She's simple, but effective. Big body with big button, plus armor and a grab. I'll happily teach overly-aggressive players not to fling themselves at her! XD
Would’ve been cool if armoring through a move with her Level 1 Super gave a juggle state she could combo out of. With how the animation looks, almost feels like that was the original intent, but maybe it ended up so strong during playtesting that they chose to remove it. With all the other seemingly strong tools she already has, I guess that would make sense.
My notes are complete. The order to try is officially: Manon, Lily, Honda, Zangief, and Marisa. June 2nd can't come soon enough. I've been sharing your videos around to friends and family (and they're starting to seek you out for info regarding the game on their own) and everyone is hype. I'm looking forward to growing my little corner of the fighting game community through this game.
Thanks for the breakdown. You might not have had a lot of time, but you still hit all the important stuff, giving us a good feel for her kit. She's going to be terrifying day 1. A real noobkiller. I just hope that Capcom is willing to let things breathe a bit before they start balance patching, because I see a lot of early whining about her, as is normal. Unfortunately you couldn't get as much in depth with Marisa but I was already sold when I saw her manhandling a lion, so any type of Marisa content is greatly appreciated

Love it, Juggernaut brawler with most plus on block moves, impact of her moves in relation to her height making her look devastating. Guard stance mix-ups, cannot wait to play her on launch.
1. Extreme block pressure 2. Armored attacks that don't prevent lows or throws 3. Fighting style is bigger than you. Since we're not getting a new soulcalibur any time soon. Lady Astaroth here is easily my fave character coming in.
I get it, everyone is excited for her. But I just cannot get over her literal helmet hair. Hopefully she gets some cool alt costumes that change/cover up the hair. Maybe a marble statue look with gold filigree accents and an actual helmet? That'd be pretty cool.
Love this mini series! I will play Marisa at the start I think. I love drum Boxing but she seems so much better to start and learn SF6 at general than Jamie or Dhalsim
I think the command grab where she puts her opponent in an armlock and then punches them in the back of the head is supposed to resemble this ancient sculpture of two greek wrestlers
Thanks, you really do the best tech videos and made the best use of your time! Regarding the anti air damage. Don't think it's too worrying. Abigail in v gets similar damage from his cr.hp anti air juggle as Marisa gets from charged cr.hp (it looks like anyway) and it comes out much faster in 11 frames!
I was already interested in Marisa, so hearing she's a good newbie pick is rad. Haven't played a fighting game seriously since vanilla SF4 but SF6 has me eager to come back.
I love all the different colours on the frame data bar to represent different states. I hope there is a key in game that tells you what all the colours mean.
When you realise marisa is a jewellery maker.😅 it's nice to see weird character mixes, eg. Manon is a judo MA, ballet dancer plus model, marisa is the buff roman warrior woman who is strong as he'll and... a jewellery designer?!?, jp, the menace zoner who is gonna give you the worst time of your life, He also happens to be the main villain of the game, and he... loves cats?!? These combos are killing me. This game is going to be amazing. I wish I woke up and it's suddenly June 2.

One of of my favorite types of characters in fighting games are the ones that just use their fists. No fireballs or weapons, just raw strength.
No need for fancy techniques when you are just plain stronger than everyone else. "Size is a skill all of its own" 🤗

If she is burned out though she wont have meter for ex version and will be vulnerable to lows.

I absolutely LOVE the detail of her and Gief's muscles when they flex.
Also, her level 1 reminds me of Azrael's Blackhawk Stinger from Blazblue.

The QCF > P has to be one of the most visceral looking moves in the game, landing that thing raw puts hair on your chest

I've been sharing your videos around to friends and family (and they're starting to seek you out for info regarding the game on their own) and everyone is hype. I'm looking forward to growing my little corner of the fighting game community through this game.

Thanks for the breakdown. You might not have had a lot of time, but you still hit all the important stuff, giving us a good feel for her kit. She's going to be terrifying day 1. A real noobkiller. I just hope that Capcom is willing to let things breathe a bit before they start balance patching, because I see a lot of early whining about her, as is normal. I'd really hate to see Capcom break her legs because of feedback and hurt her middle/high end viability. Anyway. Thanks for the content.

Unfortunately you couldn't get as much in depth with Marisa but I was already sold when I saw her manhandling a lion, so any type of Marisa content is greatly appreciated

Love it, Juggernaut brawler with most plus on block moves, impact of her moves in relation to her height making her look devastating. Guard stance mix-ups, cannot wait to play her on launch.
1. Extreme block pressure
2. Armored attacks that don't prevent lows or throws
3. Fighting style is bigger than you.
Since we're not getting a new soulcalibur any time soon. Lady Astaroth here is easily my fave character coming in.
I get it, everyone is excited for her. But I just cannot get over her literal helmet hair.
Hopefully she gets some cool alt costumes that change/cover up the hair.
Maybe a marble statue look with gold filigree accents and an actual helmet? That'd be pretty cool.
Love this mini series! I will play Marisa at the start I think. I love drum Boxing but she seems so much better to start and learn SF6 at general than Jamie or Dhalsim

Regarding the anti air damage. Don't think it's too worrying. Abigail in v gets similar damage from his cr.hp anti air juggle as Marisa gets from charged cr.hp (it looks like anyway) and it comes out much faster in 11 frames!

I was already interested in Marisa, so hearing she's a good newbie pick is rad. Haven't played a fighting game seriously since vanilla SF4 but SF6 has me eager to come back.
I love all the different colours on the frame data bar to represent different states. I hope there is a key in game that tells you what all the colours mean.
If I'm remembering correctly from the beta, I think the training mode does have a full explaination for everything in there and how to use it!

When you realise marisa is a jewellery maker.😅 it's nice to see weird character mixes, eg. Manon is a judo MA, ballet dancer plus model, marisa is the buff roman warrior woman who is strong as he'll and... a jewellery designer?!?, jp, the menace zoner who is gonna give you the worst time of your life,
He also happens to be the main villain of the game, and he... loves cats?!? These combos are killing me. This game is going to be amazing. I wish I woke up and it's suddenly June 2.
