Why am i late to find your channel? hmm very clear and easy to understand. Thanks to explain from a to z , super helpful , hmmm if you're not MVP i would be dissapointed
Hi DeShon Love your video, very easy to understand especially for someone who has never worked in SP and PowerApps. I have a quick question thou, I created a list in SP and when I try to customize the form in PowerApps the form already has red X's against some of the Datacards, and a warning sign. Also when i try to put a background against it 1 of the datacards remains white and doesnt actually show the background. If you could assist that would be great.
thanks for watching...to get rid of the red X's, try refreshing the data sources powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Power-Apps/Power-App-Data-Refresh/td-p/17336#:~:text=Re%3A%20Power%20App%20Data%20Refresh&text=In%20edit%20mode%2C%20on%20right,be%20updated%20on%20the%20app. For the datacard issue, try setting the form control to transparent color...let me know if this works.
Great tutorial. Great looking form too. Just a question, can you use a modified SharePoint form (same as in this example) outside of SharePoint, that is, as a standalone powerapp form that you can share (similar to how you can share other powerapps)?
Thanks for watching, you will have to create a power app "canvas app" which is a shareable app. You can then use SharePoint as a data source, So still save the form results into a SharePoint list. you may also want to take a look at Microsoft forms which is also part of office 365; you can create better looking shareable forms much easier in MS Forms...how this helps
@@DeShonClark Cheers mate. Been using Forms with PowerAutomate a lot, but forms is still lacking some basic functionality. Was just wondering if you could reuse the form already used by SharePoint, but youve answered my question. Keep up the good work. Been getting into your videos. Well presented and suited for all skill levels.
Thanks very much for the great instruction. I have a weird issue not being able to see the Fields on the Form when I select the Edit Option in the right hand panel under Data source when Form object is selected. I am doing a List Form
Hi there! Thanks for watching the video and I'm glad you found the instructions helpful. Regarding the issue you're experiencing, it could be a couple of things. First, make sure you have selected the correct form in the right-hand panel under Data source. Double-check that you have selected the "Edit" form and not the "View" or "New" form. If that doesn't solve the issue, it's possible that there may be a problem with the form itself. Try deleting the form and creating a new one to see if that resolves the issue. If the issue persists, it may be helpful to reach out to the Power Apps support team for further assistance. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions or if there's anything else I can do to help.
Thanks DeShon. Just started learning Power Apps .I have learned SPFx development earlier from you. This is 1 of the best SharePoint/Office 365 channels for Developers in You tube.
Thank you for watching! Check out my latest series...we will solve one business requirement with all three PowerApps, Flow, and Power BI...super exciting!
Hi there! I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with the SP and accessibility errors. I'm not able to provide specific troubleshooting here, but I recommend reaching out to the support team for SP or referring to online forums for assistance. They should be able to help you rectify the errors and ensure the form appears correctly. Let me know if you have any other questions or need further assistance!
DeShon - I have been searching for a video on creating a PowerApp that a regular employee would fill out. However, I don't want the information to go into a list. I want the information to just be emailed. This was possible with InfoPath. How can I do it with PowerApps?
Hey there! Thanks for your comment. I appreciate your question about creating a PowerApp for employees to fill out and have the information emailed instead of going into a list. PowerApps does not have a direct "out of the box" feature for sending emails, but you can definitely achieve this with a bit of customization. One way to accomplish this is by using Power Automate (previously known as Microsoft Flow) along with PowerApps. You can create a flow in Power Automate that triggers when the form is submitted, and then uses the "Send an email" action to send the information to your desired email addresses. In the PowerApp, you'll need to add a button or submit action that triggers the flow. When this button is clicked, you can use the "Power Automate" connector to call the flow and initiate the email sending process. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions or if there's anything specific you'd like me to cover in a future video. Keep exploring and experimenting with PowerApps!
Hi, I am creating a sharepoint list. I would like to have a column that auto generates a request number based on date and time record created. How would this be done?
The out of the box column created does this automatically, but if you need another one, create a site column with the type single line and in PowerApps set the Update property of the data card to Today ()..you will have to wrap this in an IF statement to only set if SharePointForm1.Mode = FormMode.New ...so it only sets when the form is first created.
Hi Deshon, I cannot figure out how to get pictures to display in my list or in my form. I created a "photo" column with a column type as picture. I have my photos saved to a photo library and paste the hyperlink to each photo into my list. Any advice on what i'm doing wrong?
The scenario you are working thru is a "gotcha" with the Picture column and PowerApps. You should be able to display the photo in the list and PowerApps using the picture type column, but you will not be able to edit the photo in PowerApps with the picture column. Because of this, I've used the Single Line Text column for pictures, and then use the Image control in PoweraApps with the image property set to the photo column (SLT) field
Hi Deshon, Thanks for helpful presentation. I have to make a complicate checklist form for quality control and I am new to powerapp. It includes different small sections in which there are 3-4 rows of text with four checkmarks (presence, completion, ERP, signed, reviewed). any comments would be appreciated.
