  • I got a question from a subscriber on how to perform this job hopefully this helps. Cropping your t-shirt is easy with the right equipment but even with just a home machine you can get this job done professionally

    Great helpful video, given me courage to do this. The volume difference between your dialogue and the music was intense. Had headphones in and had to keep adjusting volume up and down to hear and not go deaf. Thanks!

    What a rock star thank you, Ive been sewing for years and always wrestle with the hem as I cut it first and then roll the cut top piece down, sew then sew down another quarter inch. Loser it buckled all the time so I stopped and only purchased the right length NOT always easy. You rock thanks so much for the time you took to show the proper way. So impressed.

    Great video! I’ve always been taught to hem my shirts with a zig zag stitch so it could stretch but never actually thought to use a straight stitch for a professional look!

      Andrew Hagan and that’s a great idea. And when you use a twin needle it’s also always stretch but I wanted to show a way most people will have.

    There is an iron on tape that you can use to prevent stretching. It will stretch. Also if you use a narrow but longer zig zag stitch it will have some stretch and the thread won’t pop.

    Great video Loius! It is important to use ball point needle with this type of t-shirt fabric.

    With all the things you can do with a sewing machine, your wife must be the best dressed woman for miles. I'd have everything look custom made if I had someone who could do all these things. This is a great talent to have.

    Hi is there a way to make a collar smaller? I am trying to recycle my husband's shirts to fit me but they are way too big around the neck.

    Nice I will definitely try this next is how to shorten a sports coat, I have some from thrift stores that I Love but need alterations so jacket alterations are where I will need help the most I remember the take in of the jacket waist ( ive literally watched every video you have made lol no joke) and this is the only area I'm nervous about I do have a practice jacket to practice on so I'm ready

      Andre Leverette Jr a lot of people get nervous with the shorting of a jacket but it’s surprisingly straight forward. The hardest part is there is no room for error because once it’s cut you’re done.

    The same guidance applies to Polo shirts or is a little bit difference. Good job, by the way. Thank you!

    Great vid. How complex would an alteration to reduce the neck size on a t-shirt / knitted fabric be (imagining opening should and neckband stitches)? If it's something doable, wold love to see a video for it!

    Which number needle did you use?

    • @AspiringGent
      @AspiringGent  2 роки тому

      For that job just an all purpose needle. but if your machine can, I'd use a fine twin needle.
