If kept refrigerated, it's best used within the first 1-2 weeks. It'll be useable longer than that, but not as fresh. At home, I'll throw it away after a month.
FYI: There is an error in the recipe. The 13.5-oz can of coconut milk is actually 400mL.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't know as I've never been to Hawaii. But it is a syrup, so I think would be good on pancakes!

Yes. It's best for the first couple (1-2) weeks. It's useable for a couple weeks after that. But I wouldn't keep it longer than a month.
