I was hoping for more variation in arenas, like we've seen in other Fromsoft games. The prominent spam of big AOE Weapon Arts and Spells makes me want more than just a big, flat, open space for people to snipe on. But for a free update it's still fun, and the chaos of 6 players free for all with Spirit Ashes is really something else.
I think the healing incantations are staying because it's literally apart of someone's build. Also, in pvp game modes with teams, it'd make sense to have a mage that can heal when out of flasks.
It makes sense that it stays. It uses up FP which could be used to damage the opponent. Unlike the flasks which are basically second chances at life with no cost but the time it takes to use them. Met someone yesterday that was healing spirit ashes in a 3v3 with ashes duel.

In team settings it makes sense but watching a dude start playing passive so he can run away and use erdtree heal whenever he gets low in a 1v1 is super annoying since even if you punish the heal you don’t do enough damage to out trade the heal so they get free hp.
@Michael B obviously devs should care about their community, but besides fromsoft, cant think of a game dev that wasnt broken/unfinished/unplayable that got a free update that wasnt just bug patches

update is to keep the game still fresh while waiting for a new DLC i guess 🤷🏼, It should have be a part of elden ring when it came out, cause now I am at level 190 ng++ and would have preferred to be at level 120…..would love to have a option to downgrade levels
I didn't even realize they added new hair styles, I remember making a new character the other day for the first time in a while and seeing the pigtails and thinking "were these always in here? I don't remember them, but I don't care for em so maybe I just forgot about them."
So actually, if you are level 138 you can be matched with both 125 and 150 players, which is nice. The poise breakpoint was 82 but is probably lower now after the poise damage nerfs, aaaand yeah, best in class, fun game mode, been absolutely loving it
The only problem with the summoning is more than likely people are probably going to use Tiche and Tiche doesn’t know the word of stamina depletion because she went past 99 endurance.

I just wish we actually got something, ANYTHING from a match. Win or lose you return to roundtable hold with nothing. No rune gain, no rune arcs, just nothing. Aside from the fun factor there's 0 incentive to it.
I feel like there should've been a rune reward for winning or something, maybe even just a rune arc. Something to make it feel like you earned something
I've always thought that healing miracles are fair game in duels, they take forever to cast and still require stat investments and attunement slots, so if you've made some kind of war cleric paladin build then go for it! The problem with estus is that it's very fast for how much healing it gives. I'd even say that physic flask regen is fair game since your sacrificing a slot you could use for damage buffs
Healing miracles are really stupid in 1v1s though since you can get someone really low until they just go cockroach mode with icon shield and use erdtree heal to get back to full hp and even if you punish the heal they go from 1/10th hp to 4/5ths hp for free with starlight shards.
@@dots1761 Disable shards and its no longer an issue. It's really only an issue for other attrition builds. Otherwise you'll usually have enough burst to melt someone healing. That and backstabs.
Okay..... every single video has been saying be between 50-150 for prime PVP. I can comfortably say that I'm 263 on NG+2/PSN and I haven't had any issues finding combatants. Duels are instantaneous, Big Brawls are a 2 minute wait at best and I haven't even delved into Caelid but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that it's gonna be AWESOME!
Healing spells are allowed because if you're able to get a healing spell off in a duel, your opponent is either bad, or you're doing good. Or you have a lot of poise and goddamit
I get it’s not the usual formula for these games but I really wish there was just a normal coop system. Why are the devs so stuck up about giving a proper coop system. Games are about having fun not just sweating ur bean out

Cool videos so far but I notice some issue with sound (voice track to be precise); I don't know how to edit voice really well but I tried to extract sound from on of your videos to apply just basic high-pass filter 200hz and compression with default parameters in Audacity and it sounded a lot better, maybe you'll try something like that to make your voice sound better, best of luck to ya
about the new "content", I was hoping that we could finally get the cut content armor sets, but at least we have Geralt of Rivia hair style and a Valkyrie hair style, so not bad :)
Still having a hard time jumping into queue with a friend even with using group passwords. We queued several times together at the same exact time and most of the time we wouldn’t even be in the same game or team.
We need a ranking system + stat tracking + some sort of reward/covenant system. Ds2 & Ds3 both had covenants & it worked great. Bandai is lacking, really hope they still pull through for GOTY later today but if they lose to GOWR we all know why… Lack of updates. Lack of transparency. DLC is probably already complete & they are just waiting to drop it. Sucks that souls like combat is the goat but never gets the attention it deserves😢

Please help! I am unable to queue with my friend in the colosseums no matter what we do. We tried the colosseum passcode, turned on allied team only, made a group passcode, made a multiplayer passcode, tried different passcodes. We are able to find foes easily but for some reason we can’t find each other, and we keep timing out of the queue. Is there a specific passcode we need to try? longer passcode? The passcodes we used were “QQQ”, “Q”, “you”, and “QQQ1”. We were able to play with each other just one time but haven’t been able to link up since. We were playing in the Limgrave Arena. My level is 150 and his is around 170, we are both in NG+. We are both on PC. Please help, It's really frustrating seeing streamers and other players sync up effortlessly with their friends.

The problem with healing incantations is they don’t have the stamina penalty of past games. It cost more than 99 END max stamina to cost erdtree heal equivalent of past games. But they likely did away with the stamina cost specifically for pvp casting and the absurd damage L2/jumps can do. Just like they wanted shield poking to be a meta threat, they want healing to be a meta threat too. Still gross but clearly intentional decision...
not worth coming back. game still crashes every time I boot up. Still very happy that fromsoft focused on the single player cuz the pvp is trashy and laggy as it was in ds1. Fast poking still rules every meta in every souls game. Doesn't matter how good the hitboxes are when it all goes out the window due to net code. I really wish it was pve content. The only thing this patch brought was youtube recommends of the same youtubers doing the same exact content
Moveswaps are only Slightly fixed they will find more ways to do it also try putting a colossal in your right hand and a straight sword in your left hand, then simply crouch and r1 you'll do the straight sword crouch poke with the colossal. Also you can still use the blossom buff glitch
Doing team battles seems fun, you could try to make a regular rpg team comp with tanks, healers, mages and the likes and put it up against other people.
After winning so many games, I think like 3; 6 player ordeal in a row, I started getting auto booted from the queue, so yay ranking. I didn't know there was ranking and at some point I was being pressured by multiple assailants even though it was FFA so idk, I'll have to look next time I play.
I quite like it tbh. I expect the sweaty tryhards to stick to duels because the brawls are a lot of fun and absolute chaos. Shame about the playerbase that think duping is standard though. The fact you can use Starlight shards renders the flask restrictions pretty much moot.

Whether it’s “allowed” it’s still - honor points, nothing feels better than a comeback on a full hp opponent when your 1 light attack away from death.

It’s a lot of fun to plan ahead with a couple friends for 3v3’s. You can absolutely dominate with builds that have synergy.

it's a new feature so everyone wants to try it out, but most likely once it cools down the average level will stablish itself at 125/150

125 is the sweatlord meta, 150 is the fun "complete build" meta, but 45 is the Low Tier Gods meta
