Btw, Louis is voiced by Jelloapocalypse here. I thought for sure they got their actual English voice actors to do the voices here, but it's actually just really close sound-alikes. Legoshi is voiced by Sean Chiplock, and Haru is voiced by Elsie Lovelock
Jello is surprisingly diverse! Remember his RWBY video? His Qrow impression was spot-on.
It’s quite surprising the voices are identical!

"I have never seen someone be so aggressively a virgin"... that line is sending me LMAO... I wanna carve that phrase on wood and hang it on my wall
TBH, TFS always was able to offer GREAT narrative alternative, even sometimes better than the original.
Best exemple for me is 16's speech to Gohan, turning it from "Don't be afraid of your own power if it helps to protect the world" to "Stop playing the "pacifist" card when the fight is in front of you and DO SOMETHING".
Great take.
7:08 is referencing Jack's own story arc from the manga which will likely be covered in later seasons. The shrek reference just fits well too.
Jack is everyone's favourite depressed boy.
Shh shh shh no telling.
I finished the manga not that long ago and I can't remember anything about this lol
@@annamariejones2837 Must have binged it, then.
But a PSA for you: Do not feed your dog onions. Ever.
Yeah I had the same. I binged over it.
Ofc when people began to point it out in the comment section I went "..oh yeah that happened yah... Well shit".
A good reference to the manga covered in a Shrek reference. You could say the line has layers.... like an onion.
Haru is indeed voiced by Lara Jill Miller in the english dub of Beastars
Here you heard Elsie Lovelock (Charlie's singing voice from Hazbin) doing a ridiculously good impression
Its really good. Even VA deaf me picked up that its Digimon Kari voice immediately. Wondered if it was really her or someone copying it.
Holy shit!!
5:30 Both series are shounen manga. Just one is has the virgin main character learning to punch people, and the other is about virgin main character learning to not punch himself.
6:59 Also, manga spoilers, onions are bad for dogs.
That's not just manga spoilers. That's dogs in general. Don't feed your puppies any Crying Johnnies.
So are well horse who like to kick and cause you to rip your teeth out
Yea spoiler but Jack gets all depressed and eats an onion legosi helps him tho
The Digimon character was Kari, and holy shit you're right!
As for Legoshi being such an aggressive virgin, in season 2 that's actually canon
No he was wrong, different va's
@@ILikeCHEEZ9 True, but it never occurred to me until that point that Kari's actress played the actual Haru.
@@EditDeath The second i heard her voice I was like , something's wrong. My childhood changed lol
I knew I couldn't be the only one who heard that!
Haru is way more thirsty and savage in the TFS universe.
TFS just is the best when it comes to abridging shows dbza, Hellsing, now Beastars
agreed dbz was hella good sadly they stopped doing full series i think, would love a beastars series from them.
It's cool that the series has a stag more likely to kill someone than a wolf
There’s a game of thrones joke somewhere.
I never really considered my Hero Academia being about "not letting other people decide who you are". It was always a bit more specific "don't give up on your dreams" and lessons about "true heroism is selflessly helping others". The was Legosi put it it was more equal to Zootopia, that entire movie's message is this.
FYI The onion thing wasnt just a shriek reference. I can’t get into it without going into spoilers, but... yeaaaaahh.

No, Lewis Carrol was *not* a pedophile - those accusations are taking his own child-like nature totally outta context. His interest in children never went beyond wanting to share stories with them.
Really sick of that rumor just not dying.
He has me aggressively researching this because I'm a huge Carroll fan and if that's true it would ruin everything for me
Really? Because I heard he sexually abused the girl he based Alice on.
@@RichterTheRat No, he didn´t.
While it is true that contact with Alice Pleasance Liddell broke off at one point early in her youth, there is no solid proof that Carroll abused her in any way
@@DerIrre1 How do you prove abuse? I can't exactly prove someone touched me, even if I say something, it's not like you'd believe me, because he's popular. Not saying he did it, I'm just saying "no solid proof" when it comes to something like this is odd.
@@fredericksaxton9782 Ever heard of "presumption of innocence"? Meaning that as long as a person has not been definitely found guilty, they are to be seen as innocent - one of the corner stones of Western judical systems, you know?
I mean, sure, some people might insist that he was guilty of stuff like that, but nobody knows for sure and therefore we should refrain from such accusation for the sake of both his memory and that of Alice Liddell as well.
At 7:35 - you're missing the actual reference. Hint - it's not a Shrek thing... go read the comments in that video for spoilers as to what it's about, but be warned - it's from the Manga, not the show. It's also dark...
From a person who has watched beastars the mob boss was only bitten in the shoulder, not the neck
Yeah. That sums up pretty much everything in Season 1 of Beastars.
17:30 You say that about stags, but even fawns and does can be ready. To add to the "damn nature, you scary" factor, most Deer, namely white tail and other north American deer, are actually omnivores, as are horses. Deer have been observed feeding on carrion and even in recent years was found that human remains left in the woods where deer can get to them, they will eat human remains, as well as the remains of other animals, as well as chew and suck on bones to get calcium from them. This astonished many scientists and wasn't actually observed and documented until at a body farm, where they do research on decay of remains to document, was recording a donated body in a wilderness setting, and a deer was observed feeding on the remains, and helped scientists finally identify "mystery" marks left on bones found that didn't line up to other animal teeth marks.
Basically, deer and horses will and can live of of meat, horses more than deer thanks to horses only having one stomach, but deer need the protine to grow muscles, and the bones to get calcium to grow their antlers each season, and they don't get it from the ground, but instead from dead animals where they can get it, including scavenging the kills of other predators, such as eating the remains of other deer after wolves or coyotes have their way with them, or even hunt small animals like rabbits, snakes, and birds to get their needs.
You can just tell Scott had fun with this
Yeahhh.....That onion line wasn't a Shrek reference, it was reference to manga spoilers about the dog.
I love the onion joke everyone who read the manga will understand

Also both are super protective over the tiny albino girl, albeit for different reasons
“Tiny albino girl” is now my entire vocabulary

It's so amazing that the onion bit is a reference to Shrek and that one scene in Beastars is so great
Not a Shrek reference. Read in the comments for the real reason... ;)
Just a heads up, that onion line wasn't just a shrek reference, it was about suicide
8:48 Yes, everything about this is Gold, you could even say it's an Experience.
If you look up virgin in the dictionary, Legoshi appears on it
17:40 a portion of the deaths are also due to infected deer bites :)
more deaths by deer then wolves... imma say probably the majority of those are involving automobile accidents.
Probably not tbh. Wolves generally avoid humans, and the vast majority of wolf attacks on humans are by starving/sick animals. Deer on the other hand become highly aggressive during rut and have been known to gore the hell out of people with that rack of knives on their heads.
They took the m out of map and replaced it with f
If I had a penny for every time people thought the onion thing was a Shrek reference, I’d be a rich man.
Strange that they referenced the killer. I could've sworn he wasn't in season 1 at all.
He was there, but they wanted everyone look at Bill.
Yeah. Deer are super dangerous. And it's not just the antlers and the hooves. They run at insane speed and, despite how skinny they are, they are packed with muscle. Like, a safety precaution when you're in the forest and you hear and/or spot a running deer is that you put a tree between you and it. Because, if a deer running at full speed collides with you, you are going to die!
" Say Hello to Aslan for me, Scar!"
The best part of the onion joke is that it's not only Shrek reference but also future Beastars reference and kinda biology reference.
The layers joke, HAS LAYERS
Not getting the power bottom and service top jokes. Ah, innocent straight people
7:14 you know why if you read the manga moment
"legoshi do you know what a powerbottom is"
Kaiser did do another Beastars video on the TeamFourStar channel a while ago that you might find interesting, bit of an explanation of the show and examination of its themes along with some stuff about both the original manga and the anime adaption.
I always thought MHA was more about individuality and doing whatever you can to achieve your dreams while keeping the dreams of your friends in mind and also understanding your limits so you can accept help when it’s offered (this applies to both heroes and villains)
It starts like that, but, as the series continues and we get to know more about the society, cracks starts to open and it is made clear that you can have a dream, the skills and the will to pursue it, but if society doesn't like you for wherever reason (in MHA case, the mutant-type quirks and all quirks viewed as "villainous" are the best examples) you could end up in a very dark path.
@@foryossimodicarbonio9703
True, but I still feel that this theme came about as a response to the original theme of MHA, yet it is true that both are present and important in MHA, it’s just that for Beastars it’s THE main theme of the story meanwhile MHA has other theme that are focused on
@NoRegs30 Yeah, it's the main theme of Beastars, and MHA has multiple in one.
I'm just going to note that unless My Hero Academia ends with the complete dissolution of the Hero Association by the general public in order to destroy the dialectic between "Hero" and "Villain", Beastars has a very different message.
Also I love everyone who hasn't experienced Jack's story thinking it's only a Shrek reference.
Also, you missed a great joke there just before 16:50... the whole "can you knot?" "Yes."
You're welcome. ;)
You really should watch the series before you do reaction videos like this - you missed a lot of references that having watched the show would have given you and consequently missed a lot of the finer humor.
“High school age may have been to old for him.”

The man has the Discworld game Tak in this background... subbed
This was so good and looked so real, they should have made more comedy scenes in the serie 😂
7:01 This is actually a reference to something that happens in the manga as well as the Shrek thing lol
Hey remember when Bill Pina and Aoba found that shock egg?
13:55 The Hiragana Characters on the truck are Ma and Su from what I can see. On it's own its basically the ending of a verb. "Tabemasu" - To eat or "Nomimasu" - To drink for example. Dunno if it's also used a a Japanese slang for "fap" though but I doubt it. The only thing I can think of is that its litterally using the term "Masu" as "To do" and combined with "Fap" this would "To do Fap" or "To fap". Clever editing either way.
So I'm pretty sure that the voice actor for the Shishigumi leader is the same person who played Bowser in TerminalMontage's Something about World of Light video.
As someone who has read the manga past the point in the anime I can't wait to see people react to Legoshi's grandfather and other a certain "fruity" (but not in a homosexual way) character
17:17 hehe…pulling…like that gun trigger
That wasn't a shrek reference actually....its to the manga that involves jack and a onion. And remember dogs cant have onions.......

The wolf bit the lion in the shoulder
The onion comment wasn't a Shrek reference. It was referring to something that happened in the manga.
I suggest you read the manga to get the reference.
It's not her, just someone who does a good impression
There's a lot of messed up stuff in Beastars, coming from someone who read the manga. The onion thing isn't a Shrek reference, it's something pretty dark. I love deer, but they are terrifying when they are running incredibly wild out of nowhere, and it fits Louis cuz..well he killed the boss and then he became the boss of the Shishigumi(and then someone else takes his place(after he left), Melon(he was done dirty near the last couple of chapters, I'm still a little upset about it, but then again there could be circumstances that usually happen with mangaka, so it doesn't bother me as much as before) and if you look him up, you'll see people compare him to the Joker(as in saying he's a Joker copy) but...proper analysis videos might help you understand his whole thing better. I didn't get most of the jokes in this 8 minute parody because....I'm not that kind of person at all, I honestly don't want to understand them too well, but I still laughed at a few (mostly cuz of Legoshi's reaction and just Haru being...well Haru lol(this is a joke, I know she's a much deeper character), the virgin joke was funny the first two times and then it's just like any other virgin joke at that point. I really don't get what's funny about being a virgin, it confuses me. Anyway, the voice acting in the parody was amazing, of course I liked Haru, Legoshi, and Louis the most because they're my favorites, lol. MHA and Beastars being compared to each other ehhhhhh.. MHA has multiple themes while Beastars has the main theme related to society and the huge difference is quirks and the species(or category? Carnivores, Herbivores, that stuff) you were born as. Similarities is you can't change what you were born with, all you can do is hide/or manage those traits the best you can, or society will shun you(definitely fits more villain characters or people with quirks that aren't seen as super helpful), and I think that's as far as it goes. There's a lot of stuff in Beastars that MHA doesn't go into, like how hybrids are treated by society. Some from the top of my head are Melon, Legoshi's mother, and Legoshi kinda counts as a hybrid as well. And then there's....a lot more darker and disturbing things Beastars covers which, if you wanna know some of them, look up Melon's backstory or read the manga(if you want). But, that's as far as the comparison goes in my opinion. Beastars and MHA are flawed yet amazing anime/manga, and it's nice to see people enjoy them. While Beastars anime is great, the manga is better, especially with the stuff in Season 2, a lot of moments between Louis and Legoshi were cut, so some lines of dialogue does not make much of any sense. The manga also goes deeper into the characters and you get to see all the character development. With the last season being cut in half for the last two arcs (Highschool dropout and Revenge of the Love Failure), I have a feeling stuff will be cut to save time/have things make sense, like some of the filler that left people confused, and worse case scenario important details/moments. And that is the end of this long comment I didn't get to make two years ago-
You think you wrote enough god damn

Don't insult beastars by comparing it to my hero academia
No insult there, part of the whole reason MHA is popular is that it touches on subjects you don't expect from the bright and childish seeming first glance. Beastars just dives headfirst into those subjects.
@@joelsasmad have you seen mha? It's popular because of the action and the stupid shipping, mha barely touches on discrimination of any kind
@@nicolaibennett5956 Watch the latest episode. Like actually right now. They specifically go into how several of the villains have been shaped to be so by discrimination based on thier quirks. Even more so in the manga where we get another character's backstory that was cut from the anime.
Honestly another similarity between Beastars and MHA is the fact that the society as a whole is basically the main character of each story. And by examining these fantastical societies(one of animals and one of superheroes) that have been really well thought out both in how these societies would work and how they fail, we can reflect on our own.
TLDR: "Like My Hero Academia isn't an insult. It is a compliment.
@@nicolaibennett5956 Also have you seen Beastars? It ship-baits way harder than MHA ever did... and appeals to the furry crowd... actually it is usually pitched to people with some variant of "Zootopia with violence and sex" so I think your kinda putting it on a pedestal in the first place...
@@joelsasmad have you not seen the messed up ships for mha, nothing like that is in beastars. And just because mha touches on discrimination all the way at season 5 (never touched on discrimination before then) doesn't put it in the same standing as beastars.
