In my opinion, one of the purest and clearest voices ever. And Evie never screamed to hit a note, she always kept it within her real range. It seems to me what we all hear from her is much more the power and blessing of the Holy Spirit, and not Evie herself. She will always be one of my favorite Christian artists....anywhere! Glory to God, and AMEN!
I had the opportunity to meet Evie this month and I have to tell you she is the SWEETEST Woman on Earth I just absolutely Love and Adore her... Her Love for Christ is Beyond Amazing and she is truly amazing
Totally agree with you; I first came across it in India in 1980 and I still rate it as the best rendition of Oh Holy Night... her voice brings out the divinity in the God we Worship - thank you Evie
Wow its thaat time of year again, yeah it is time for friends, family, cheer and good will towards men. and oh yeah evie christmas carols .hiphip hooooraaaaayyyyyyyyy
She sings this so pretty. God is so good that He gave us His son, we were not worthy but He loved us and we have been given a savior, only if everybody would accept Him.
I first heard this sung by Evie about 25 years ago when growing up in India. I still rate it as the best rendition I have ever heard with respect to this powerful Carol. I posted it on FB just before Christmas for many others to be blessed by the anointing and pureness of her voice.
If ever an Angel fell to Earth this would be the one. I saw her on a TV Christmas Show way back in the seventies, and being a young man I fell in love with her.
@NCLUSA You can say that again. She has the heart, voice and face of an angel. Back then, I was a part-time DJ on the Christian radio station in Lynchburg, VA while attending college. Needless to say, Evie's music got a lot of airplay then. I was totally smitten with her. Evie was married in '79 and pretty much retired in '81 but mentored Rebeca St. James. Evie was very popular then and despite a relatively short career, she was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2005.
Evie is always pure and angelic! No-one can sing O Holy Night better than Evie ❤

i do not think there are as many Christian singers who shine forth with such a purity of the LORD the way that Evie has in her musical praises to HIM.
I haven't heard her in years, but this is the best female version I've heard hands down
I'm listening to this in JUNE. WHY? I love this song and Evie's rendition of it!

Don't know if you would call it rock music. Evie's contemporary Christian music was quite conservative compared to what's out there today.
