Hopefully some time in the near future we will have the opportunity to meet one another and just have a great time. I'm just a guy who loves dancing to the music. Hello. J.Rock you are definitely a great dancer. I'm not here to critique you but I have to say one thing all of the dances done by the Electric Boogaloo are not really boogaloing. I have watched Boogaloo Sam dance and he truly does know how to Boogaloo. But what I have noticed that the main thing is to pop. I have nothing against anyone who pops, I love to see you when you are popping because you have the art down to a science. I hope that you don't take this the wrong way and I mean no dissrepect. Daniel Hodges I’ve separated the moves and styles into different lessons. This lesson focused on pure Electric Boogaloos Style Boogaloo. The Boogaloo that Sam does. Without the Popping, or other styles mixed in. The EBs actually have names for all the moves and styles they do, they don’t call it all Boogaloo. I also firmly believe that the EBs have a unique style of Boogaloo from Oakland and other forms. Especially when you put it all together. Although, I agree Sam was influenced by the Bay groups in the early years...but he definitely found a way to create something new and different from the Bay. Especially when it comes to signature moves, and most importantly the timing of the dance to the music. Which in many dances such as an Latin dance, or Ballroom dance...those styles are all separated by subtle timing differences or stylistic differences. Funk dances are similar in that respect that there are many styles from many cities, with different names, and subtle different timings and technique details. Popping, Boogaloo, Strutting and Robot are as deep of dance styles as any other dance on earth. Much respect.
