Russia's GPS jamming testing NATO ahead of potential war

Russia is disrupting satellite systems in the Baltic region in preparation for conflict with NATO, an Estonian military commander has said, as the head of a GPS security group called for the alliance to act to protect the system used by airlines, smartphones and weapons systems. This is according to Newsweek.
The publication says that in January, jamming was detected in eastern and southeastern parts of NATO's newest member Finland amid reports from an open-source intelligence researcher that a "Baltic jammer" in Kaliningrad, Russia's Baltic Sea enclave, was responsible
The Russian Defense Ministry has previously confirmed its electronic warfare units in Kaliningrad, which borders NATO members Poland and Lithuania, had conducted exercises to disrupt radio and satellite signals.
On various days throughout January, GPS disruptions have been recorded in northern Poland, southern Sweden, Estonia and Latvia.
So far there is no proof Moscow was involved in the disruptions in January, but Russia has been accused of jamming GPS signals in northern Europe and its electronic warfare capabilities are used to disrupt drones and missiles in Ukraine during its full-scale invasion.
Martin Herem, commander of the Estonian Defense Forces, told Bloomberg, "someone is causing it and we think it's Russia" and that Moscow is "learning and testing" jamming capabilities ahead of risks of a future potential conflict with NATO.
He said that Moscow had shown its electronic warfare capabilities elsewhere, "not just in Ukraine and the Baltic countries," adding that Russia is "definitely quite strong in this."
Dana Goward, president of the Resilient Navigation and Timing Foundation, which advocates for GPS security, wrote in an op-ed for Breaking Defense: "Such jamming presents a risk to thousands of commercial aircraft."
"As international pressure has so far failed to halt the interference, it's time for NATO to act-proportionally," he added.

How can they jams nato if they connot jam the UKRAINE WOOD DRONES.
You dont know anything javier you are exposing yourself russia ews has been well known as the very best the reason drones can pass is the jammer will be switched off cause it also disrupt Russia own communication and drones in event of all Russia ews will be fully used so that no side will ever use communication gps or drones
They cannot, all fuzz and rummors and that's it. Russia lives with propaganda and fairy tale riummors of what they can do.
They jamming in Ukraine. See countless western articles where they talk about GMLRS and other precision munitions becoming less reliable due to jamming.
Apparently the non-metallic drones don't use satellite GPS on the same freqs as ships & air traffic.

Its only 600 km from West Ukraine to Kaliningrad where the pesky jammer can be drone-slapped.

That's a bit further than Ukrainian drones can fly, and it's not their job to protect the Baltic Sea area. They're a bit more concerned with the BLACK SEA, which is on their front doorstep and where all the Russian warships are deployed that hit Ukraine with missiles.

Ironically, jamming is easy on modern "smart" bombs and missiles, which are guided using TTL (low) voltage circuitry, while it would be much more difficult on the 1950's tech missiles that used vacuum tubes requiring much higher voltages for their guidance systems.
