You certainly don't remember everything you play, so it must be beautiful to be able to go back and watch how much you've made and grown through the years via these uploads.
That is true! I was checking out some of my improvisations from 10 years ago, and it was fun to see the differences in my choices, although they weren't worse back than they are now, just different :) also important to note the acoustic piano influences my choices a lot too, compared to the keyboard.
@@kylelandry I've always felt like I choose different stuff to play depending what I'm playing on, especially acoustic vs digital. Some stuff just sounds better on different boards
Yo, I've been listening to your performance of The Name of Life quite literally everyday for a few months now. I'm learning it myself and am stealing some of the things you added in your performance haha. This improvisation is really beautiful.
You have me thinking now. If I think in C#, then the modulations will most definitely change in my mind when improvising. I will mostly end up visiting places like A Major, maybe G# major. I've never tried thinking in C#... for me it's always Db, my favorite key. I will try it sometime. 🎹
@@kylelandryoriginals I see what you're sayin'. C# is your fav?? Really? I don't necessarily have a favorite key. Although I do not love C#. I'd go E Flat. One song off the top of my head I've been playing for years I play in C# major "Miss You Like Crazy" by Natalie Cole. It modulates all over the place throughout the whole song. Funny cuz years later I realized it's in D major. But years back maybe my piano was on transpose when I learned it from the radio so I've always done it in C#. Talk about a radio pop ballad with 50 million chords and modulations, that song!!!!
It's okay, though. Music has evolved with technology, and has branched off into many different styles/types/genres. With the amount of people in the world, and the easier access to music than ever, it's only natural there would be a wide variety of musical tastes throughout the world. What I'm trying to say is, it's okay, because there is a fandom for everything!
@@keminoff I understand what you're saying, but music is heavily biased and more about personal tastes. It requires a certain person to appreciate music with more nuance, I suppose :p
Correct me if I'm wrong but it sounds like you got inspiration from Liszt's Un Sospiro mainly around 0:30, except you completely went your own way afterwards in simply put a very beautiful way.

I’m absolutely in LOVE 😭with the sound of this piano, as well as Kyle’s playing 😊
Me too! Yamaha is not half bad if it's the right piano :)
The breeze from 100 years ago ... Beautiful!
Way superior than your earlier improvisations
Seems like you really wanna go into you Un Sopriso improv or the piece in general, really Db major is becoming one of my favorite keys lately ❤️
I heard that too.
A pleasure as always!
Love this camera angle to be honest. Beautiful improv Kyle

Next time my instructor tells me to stop moving my elbows so much I'm just going to show him some Kyle Landry videos.
Ah yes Db major, the best key :D
Is that your own piano? Beautiful Yamaha Baby Grand by looks of it.
Did you just come up with that music on the spot?? :O
How many improvs do you botch and scrap?
COUNTLESS ones lol

You mean C# major? Lol
I enjoyed that
C# major is 7 sharps, so I prefer to think in Db haha
@@kylelandry it's all good. :)
@@JeffRyan_88keys Also, I think because the other visited keys (f minor, and F major) are both flat keys, it makes sense to stay in flats.

Few views. Nobody needs beautiful music. Unfortunately. We were born at the wrong time

Boah, wow!!!!! 👍😉♥️ There are 3 pianists I like most:
David Benoit, Yiruma and someone called Kyle Landry 😉
All the Best from Hannes, Germany
Thanks Kyle...another beautiful piece. 😍
