Great interview, you're getting way better at each one, Randall (but please, ditch the phone ahah). I think David rocks as shit and i've seen a lot of new-casualties footage over the last year, so i'm not saying it just to be polite. Actually, I believe Casualties message is a lot more relevant today than it ever was. Keep up the good fight, we are all we have. PS: David's approach to the Jorge situation was from a decent guy, with respect, even if it's not deserved. And that's great. Double post scriptum: Can't wait to hear Alec's Song...
I'm not sure where, but I know I've talked about this before a few times on this channel, but the reason I have my phone out during podcasts is twofold. 1 - I use it to take notes and write things down, I doubt anyone would ask me to put down a notepad during an interview, but you just assumed im messing around and not paying attention, which is absolutely not the case.. 2 - most important, though, is WHY I write down notes and such during these long conversations. I have severe ADHD and if I don't do something while sitting there, I will stare off into space and not hear what they're saying. I lose focus and daydream. It literally helps me focus on the conversation. It keeps me from moving more than I already do. It is a thing I do to improve the quality of the podcasts. It occasionally has a detrimental effect, but the vast majority of the time it is simply an effect of my extreme hyperactivity and inability to sit still.
So, while I appreciate what you're saying, the phone isn't going anywhere. If anyone has a problem with it, oh well. I usually tell my guest what's up before we talk, so they're aware that I'll be doing that. It's not a disrespectful thing, quite the opposite.
On the other side, you know I appreciate you watching, I'm trying to keep up the interviews, the only way to get better at something is to keep doing it! I have a few other guests coming up soon that I'm excited about, so this summer should be good! Im glad to see you're still dropping videos my guy 👊😎🏴☠️
Dave's been a favourite vocalist of mine since I first heard Krum Bums' SOS EP way back when. Such an awesome dude. Thanks for doing this with him, dude.
David is awesome, thank you for checking out my channel!
Great interview man. Will never forget seeing L.O.C, Krum Bums, and Molotov Compromise at Fitz back in the day. Still to this day one of my favorite shows I've ever been too.
Thanks man, I had a blast with David, glad to have met him!
I remember being at a show in the early 2000s at Sam's Burger Joint. I saw Krum Bums, Damaged Case, and another band I can't remember. Dave was there, cracking jokes and sitting down, eating a fat burger, and saying some funny stuff. Great Times
That sounds exactly like 2000's TX Punk rock. Damage Case was awesome
@@thepunkrockreview they sure were and great channel
From the SoCal desert I sit here enjoying this interview, I look forward to supporting you and your channel now that that I’ve found it
Ayyye, thank you! I appreciate the support 👊
Really enjoyed this. Love the channel man. ATX here
Lessgo! Thanks for watching, I appreciate it 👊 😎 🏴☠️ David is a rad dude for sure
i really like what u do on your channel, and that your an actual real punk whos doing the interviews, not someone who just spent a lot of time on the punk subreddit and thinks they are experts.
I appreciate it my dude, thank you!
Glad to hear new casualties music is coming. They will always be my favorite street punk band. Also keep up the good work with the channel. Keep spreading the work of good music from the old school to the new school. So glad to see so many good interviews.
Thank you so much, I'm still trying to link up with some more bands, too. I would love to get Cock Sparrer on one of these days
Dave is fucking awesome!
Yes he is!
Awesome interview, a healthy mix of scheduled questions and tangents, you are finding a good balance now man keep it up! Plese get Jake and Megggers on here!!!
Thank you so much for recognizing I am putting in work! I legit work so hard on this channel, I love it. I would absolutely talk with them, you have anyone's email you can slide me, it would be appreciated 👊😎🏴☠️
Hell yeah! Stoked for a new Starving Wolves and Casualties record!
Me too!!! Love his vocals
Dude, I subscribed to your podcast when you started cause I liked it. You had probably 90 subscribers. Now look at you interviewing lead singer of the casualties, krum bums. This is fucken awesome, keep it up bro 🔥 🔥
Thank you so much 👊 I work hard with this stuff.
Love this conversation. David is a great dude and a hell of a front man!
Thank you! And yes, he's awesome
Hell yeah…been waiting for this one. Killer interview! Can’t wait for that new Starving Wolves record 🔥
Thanks man, i try and do thus stuff tge right way. I always appreciate your support
Dave is such an awesome down to earth dude.
1000%, dude is so rad
Would be awesome if you could interview jake from the casualties. Talk about the early years. From what ever happened to the second vocalist Colin to what was the whole issue with crust punks and street punks in NYC east village.
I would LOVE to talk to Jake! You have any contact info for him?
THIS IS THE BEST PUNK ROCK INTERVIEW I HAVE EVER SEEN , AND I FUCKING LOVE IT!
Im Jah,Im your average Kiwi Punk rocker from New Zealand so your stuff is getting out to the world and i truly appreciate that someone is doing this kinda thing but doing it REAL cos i have seen far too many fake "influencers" you tubers try and interview punk legends but you my friend have the knowledge and the background to do it genuinely and with sincerity.
Its also nice to hear talks of unity amongst punx again because there has been so much division and drama and i got some warm fuzzy feelings and made me feel damn proud to be who i am and what i am as i stud up my jacket early in the morning.
Keep up the amazing work bro and ill keep watching.
ps check out the bro, PunkTome on you tube who does deep dives on lots of awesome punk artists and isn't afraid to say what he thinks , i think you appreciate it.
Thank you so much for the kind words! I work super hard and just absolutely love this stuff so much!
As far as Tome goes, that's the homie! He's on my streams all the time on Sunday nights, dude is awesome!
Super cool interview! Thanks brother!!!!
Absolutely my guy, thanks for watching!
No problem btw congrats on the 10 years of sobriety!
Thank you man, it's still a struggle some days, but my life is SO much better now
KRUM BUMS FOR LIFE! Awesome convo
Lessgooooo!!! Thank you for the kind words!
lol I had to stop tripping because I started hearing strangers say my name when they walked by 😂
yes psychosis is a good sign you and acid are not a good pairing anymore, i started getting bad anxiety the older i got until it was no fun and id just sit and wait to come down so i could feel better.
I knew and met Dave first in Portland with the Krum Bums and he gave me a 7"record and then saw him again in DENVER opening up for the GERM'S AND I think he is so much better than GEORGE FROM THE CASUALTIES‼️‼️‼️‼️ 😂👍🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I'll have to watch this fully tomorrow (it's almost midnight here) but I was going to mention that Rumkicks have toured with The Casualties a few times (and will again in the summer) and they are currently near the end of a US tour with Starving Wolves, but if you have a great memory you might recall me mentioning a female band who get a lot of abuse from the USA...well, that's who I was referring to. The actual US tour seems to have gone well though. A band who have toured with Rumkicks, friends from Seoul, are 18Fevers. A much darker sound, but a great band, and worth checking out if you get a spare minute.
Yeah I remember you mentioning that. While I don't agree with it, I definitely understand why they get some crap. They're a pretty good band, though, so I'd like to see them live!
@@thepunkrockreview fyi, it turns out Rumkicks were also pictured on those stickers related to that Erin Micklow incident. Oddly, I had a short discussion with someone from British female punk band Lady Rage, and she said that oddly it's other women in the scene who were often more hostile.
Rad interview. Relatable
Thank you! We go hard over here at The Punk Rock Review !!!! Thanks for watching 👊😎🏴☠️
Houston Acid in 90s was lit. Blotter. Orange micro dot. Liquid . I miss Houston . Going Fitzgeralds watching Middle Finger , Bickley and 30 ft Fall. Krum Bums kill . This chanel rocks as well
Bro, you're rad, thank you for the compliment! I agree with your statement about Houston and the blotter, lol
Fuckin Bickley!!! Down The Hatch!!!
Working overnight at heb #Texas listen to the whole interview love my texas punkrock.. .
Do you think you can interview sambo from complete control/strap onz?
I would love to! Depends on if he'd be down with talking to me... have some contact info, shoot me an email!
TEXAS!!!!! 🤘🏻
I’ve lived in MA for going on 15 years but I’m a Texas girl born and raised!!! (DFW)
My homeboy Cole who lives in Austin is actually friends with David and he is just so floored that his buddy is in a band that he listened to in HS.
And the part about bands that get past the point of only being known in the Lone Star State is so accurate like I’ve been around musicians and bands my whole life (I’m 39), I’m a musician, my parents are/were musicians, and I have only seen 3 of my friends’ bands “make it” and 2 of them are not even together anymore. The other one is Bowling For Soup. Shut up don’t judge me lol
Lol oh man, Bowling For Soup... they're actually pretty good, and their front man is cool. Would love to have him on as a guest some day, too
@@thepunkrockreview I LOVE JARRET!!! I can message him for you and hope to the punk rock Gods that he remembers me! when I was in high school in Tyler TX they played this little hole in the wall bar called Elmo’s. Me and my 2 best girlfriends would always go see them and shoot the shit after the shows. We got to see them preform the Jimmy Neutron song shortly after it came out. And when that Crosseoads movie with Britney Spears came out we went to go see it ONLY because BFS was in it. And then we were disappointed because Chris wasn’t in it and they got some rando to play in his spot and the next time they played Elmo’s we were outside talking to them afterwards and talking about how messed up it was that he wasn’t in the movie and probably because of his weight but he’s the most entertaining mofo to watch and he’s so sweet and has such a great personality.
Anyway that’s my BFS tidbit lol
Lars gave Ruby Soho former Ruby riot in WWE Lexi love i think was her indie name but I'm not %100 on that but he offered her the name and the song right before she debuted in AEW a few years ago. A lot of crossover between the punk rock metal crowd and wrestling fans.
Sound exchange is a cool place . Im sure i saw OFF there. And a local band called Homo Police.
Man, I miss Austin... lol
Randall you ever listen to Broken Cuffs?
Yes! I actually have! Not super familiar but I've heard a cpl songs. Good 3 peice if I remember correctly....
We went to the same HS
At the same time? Did we know each other? If so, reach out! My info is in the description
@@thepunkrockreview Oop, I meant Dave Tejas and I went to the same school. I should have been more clear, lol, I was having some Friday beers when I wrote that. I apologize.
HELL YEA!! Great interview, love the back and forth with David, thanks for doing this!!
Absolutely man!
just discovered your channel. Have you talked to or reviewed The Take yet?
Welcome to the family! I haven't heard of them yet, I'll check them out ASAP!
@@thepunkrockreview The Take is Scott Roberts' new shit. NYC all star band
