As evidenced by this video, HM Elizabeth II was the epitome of grace and reserve. Compare her comportment to that exhibited at similar events here in the U.S. -- where there would be widespread hugging and tearing of eyes by sitting presidents and their spouses, be they from the left or right. We have lost something when the simple dignity of the late sovereign gives way to vast, ostentatious displays of emotion.
@JamesMcCowan-yf3qf. Hmmm. Are you sure about your post? The English do seem to riot and organize a lot more than the Americans. We, Americans can be calm, cool and collected when we need to be, sir. We, too have our "grace and reserve and dignity". Princess Margaret said that people were "too hysterical" over Diana's funeral. She may have been jealous, though. For the most part we Americans tend to pull together. However, displays of emotions vary from individual to individual, or from circumstance to circumstance. Well, to each his own, I suppose.
@@JoanMorrison-vq2jc A misinformed opinion especially regarding riots. One can look to the US for their moments in history The US have Hollywood! The epitomy of emotion.
I remember the day well. I was in the house having my lunch during a school day at Dunfermline High in Fife when the news broke. My dad, who was a BT engineer, remembers his colleagues being asked to go to the school to install more telephone lines as calls would be coming in from all over the world. My dad’s friends son was also in the school and remembers bullets coming through his class window. He had nightmares for weeks after it. I recall doing a petition in my school to ban handguns following this incident and sent it to 10 Downing Street. Can’t believe it happened so near to us. Those poor children and their teacher.
Dunblane was absolutely shattering, devastating. Queen Elizabeth showed much respect. One can almost feel the shock and the loss to the area from that clip.
The Queen is certainly missed. We are thankful for the Princess Royal. This was a terrible tragic incident. God bless the townspeople and the families.
I remember this I was 16 yrs old I couldn't believe the details in the paper about the scene when police turned up if was so graphic I was in tears reading it..those kids would have been adults now with families of their own and teachers who were murdered trying to shield the children 😔
one of the most harrowing events in Queen Elizabeth II's reign.

Princess Anne is such : humble , gracious woman of the Royal Queen Mother granddaughter , great respect. ❤
I imagine this was hard for the Queen and Princess Royal. The Queen had grandchildren that age and Anne had children that age - very heartbreaking.

Damn, the Queen’s heeled boots are pretty sharp.
🙄Domanda ( senza polemica) : Come mai non indossarono il nero? È previsto come etichetta solo per i funerali, suppongo
Evidentemente
Deep purple is also a mourning colour.
@@PennyLane1 But they always wear black , although deep purple is ok
The victims never had the same protection the royals
Have!
