Hi I’m Stephen Stansbury. MD. I'm a family practitioner who's been in private practice since 1978. I grew up in Louisville and had been away for about the last 40 years but with family ties drawing me back to Louisville I decided to pursue a career with Norton Healthcare. Well I’ve always enjoyed science and I always felt like I had a knack for communicating with people, so the medical profession gave me a chance to kind of fulfill both of those wishes. The biggest thing I like is being able to get to know my patients really well. My 38 years in private practice I felt like patients were family and my employees and I kind of formed a big group and got to know the patient's well and saw them through good times and bad and hope I can continue to practice that way in this new venture. As I said I grew up in Louisville and I got a bachelor's degree from Johns Hopkins and then I received my MD degree from Duke. I did a residency and family practice at the University of Kentucky and then I was in a group practice for five years in Greenville, South Carolina in 1983. I relocated to Ohio to be near my in-laws and stayed there for 33 years up until the end of 2016. I'm an avid reader and I bicycle, I've loved bicycling since I came back to Louisville in January and I like to take walks and stay active and I've just planted a whole bunch of flowers right before the rains came. Well I just like to say that it's really amazing to see how Louisville has changed since my boyhood days and I think it's changed all for the better and I'm really proud to be a member Norton Healthcare Group. The more I learn about it the more impressed I am.
