Hey guys thanks for the support many of you asked for a follow up video to this explaining Stain and Scale control. Here it is ua-cam.com/video/ut49EsVw3s4/v-deo.html You guys are the absolute best. Love ya all!!

Help help help please lol I'm running the at ease system. I've owned my brand new tub for about a month . I now have foam that I can't seem to get rid of . My chemicals are balanced, but my phosphates are over 5000 . I'm in the process of lowering the phosphate count now . Should I also try to do a chlorine shock or non chlorine shock ? I'm hoping to not have to drain the tub so soon . Oh , and my water is crystal clear and the foam only happened when i turn on the air . It doesn't happen when i just have on the jets and the foam goes away about a minute ir two after i turn off the air . Thanks
Welcome to new hot tub ownership. This is very common on new hot tubs, it is mainly phosphates as it has to do with the manufacturing process. It will eventually work itself out with time, however, if it is driving you insane you can just drain it and start over. it won't hurt anything and it is safe but it is a nuisance. Also, make sure your alkalinity is between 80-120 and the pH is at 7.6. I would do a chlorine shock in this situation. It will work its way out. Make sure you clean your filters really well.
I've gotten the phosphates down to 176 now. Shocked the crap out of it earlier today. Wish me luck and thanks for the advice. Is there any way I can get the icare monitor in ohio ?
So when u change out the chlorine cartridges do u add 2 tablespoons of non chlorine shock, 2 tablespoons of dichlor, or 2 tablespoons of enhanced shock ?
It's cheaper to open up the Chlorine cartridge for the @ease and fill it yourself with Chlorine capsules. You will save a ton of money instead of buying a new cartridge each time, its on UA-cam.
It is a hack you can do, however use bromine tablets and not chlorine tablets …. Here is a video explaining why….ua-cam.com/video/V-w04LnohCo/v-deo.html
@@TheHotTubLady They hang out around the hot tub which is covered by an octagon cover and enclosed by a wood deck around it. I have tried everything! Latest invention on my part is a spray bottle with vinegar and salt and some clorox clean up. I sprayed it all around the underside flaps and the deck. Otherwise I have 30 tiny frogs who think my spa is their pond even though I keep it at 104˚.
@@RebecaEigen wow that’s crazy. We live by a slough that is full of frogs and they get on the patio never in my hot tub. I’m sorry I don’t have an answer for this one. But I’ll do some research
New to in line system...6 days and my silver chlorine cartridge is used up.....any idea why? Strips look good and in range till day 6 when chlorine started looking light. Checked the cartridge and its spent. ??
No this is not the same as ozone. Ozone is a device you install on the hot tub that turns the oxygen in the water to ozone and it helps the sanitizers do its job. This is a stand alone sanitizine system. Thanks for watching.
Quick question. Should the frog ease system be used with Hotspring Flash? Manual specifically says not to use floating sanitizer systems. Just curious because our flash came with frog ease floating ball.
Quick question I know spa serine is Bromine and @ease is smartchlor. If I have a MINERAL serine cartridge can I use with smartchlor. Basically are the two MINERAl cartridges the same?
Thank you so much for this awesome video!! Can you explain how the mineral side works that leads to the recommendation to replace it if you change your water after say a couple of weeks? Thanks!!
Absolutely so there is a coating of minerals on the beads in the cartridge. Once that is rinsed off of the beads the mineral cartridge is used up.... so the silver that has rinsed off into the water is good for about 3 months. So if you change your water in that time frame you must introduce more mineral into the water. If you need more explanation please let me knwo
LOVE the Frog Smart Chlor in my Artesian Spa but it's ridiculously over priced and environmentally wasteful to throw out all that plastic every two weeks. My spa is 400 gallons and I was tearing through a cartridge every 2 weeks. Pried open the top of an empty, filled it with 1" tabs and saved myself close to $300/yr and a landfill of a bunch of discarded plastic.
It is a hack that will work however chlorine tablets in your hot tub that are highly corrosive on you hot tub and it will cause a lot of very expensive damage. If you are doing this hack please switch to bromine tablets and treat it as a bromine tub. Chlorine tablets do not belong in a hot tub.
Can you clarify the response. If the cartridge has chlorine in it @7:50 mark, what would be the difference in the chlorine tabs the other responder stated? I don’t understand the difference and how it could be more corrosive, is it not the same? Thanks in advance.
That’s getting to be a narrative being pushed by the purge companies but not totally necessary…. You do drain it after 3 months so you’d be ok if you didn’t but it is never a bad idea to purge a hot tub
It is possible to do this but you are no longer using frog smart chlorine. It is different and you should never use chlorine tablets in a hot tub. If you are doing this please use bromine

How do I get rid of frogs?
😂😂 You actually have frogs in your hot tub?

That is not the way it should go. What did you set the chlorine number on and what gallonage is your hot tub
Is this the same as ozone?

Every one of the cheat sheets, no matter the gallons it is for, says to set the chlorine cartridge to setting 1 ???
I’ll check into it but that would be a new glitch as I haven’t updated in over 2 years. The mineral should be 6 on all of them.
If you would email me at jacque@thehottublady.co. I’ll send them to you again
Where do u put them on a grandee?
Chlorine in 4 mineral on 6

If you are not using a salt system I highly recommend and we do put our customers on it if not using salt

I was thinking the same thing!!!
Do you have a video on Chlorine vs Bromine and which is better or why you might want one over the other.

Should you drain your hot tub before using the frog ease for the first time?

Those strips are a rip off. Also you can take that cap off those cartridges and refill them for a fraction of the cost of just buying another one.
It is possible to do this but you are no longer using frog smart chlorine. It is different and you should never use chlorine tablets in a hot tub. If you are doing this please use bromine
Do you refill the mineral cartridge by chance? I do my bromine but haven’t been able to source the minerals…

Thanks. There is a cheats sheet as well www.thehottublady.co/free-ease-cheat-sheet
