      @@StalkingPeopleHmm we r not talking about this gen. he made chess popular when no internet was there. he was part o books news everything. without any controversies but only plain chess. his inspiration for chess in India only is 2nd to none. and the content creators who are making chess popular themselves got inspired by him to play chess and become FM IM GM and started streaming.

    Australian here. Although Magnus, Garry, and Bobby are/were probably better players, I think Vishy is arguably the GOAT of chess. He's a 5x World Champ, has been at the very top for decades, and is a most humble champion. But mostly, because of his incredibly vast (and positive) influence on the game - particularly in India, but genuinely around the world.

      You could frame it in a nicer term, rather than farmer who hervest corps, it would be better to coin it as a gardeners who appreciate it's creation, that's why farmer probably would not be the right word here

    Gukesh / Arjun and many will cross the Anand peak rating and become World champions .. . However this man is the only reason for chess in India and is the founding father of chess. The name Anand will be in the history of chess for India even after 300 years . As Magnus once said Anand was the first person who came from now where and went to fight and win world championship has a unbelievable understanding of the game ❤️

    Vishwanathan Anand has done so much for Indian chess. He has literally created a new generation of players. Why hasn't he been given a Bharat Ratna yet? while Sachin was given a Bharat Ratna 13 years ago and he didn't even coach the team for even 1 year. Vishwanathan developedhis talent without much chess infrastructure and chess legacy in India while Sachin had so much cricket infrastructure and cricket legacy.

      Vishy Sir's academy is in South. Vidit is from Maharashtra. He has interacted less with Vidit and may not have even mentored him. Even if he had, it should be for even less time than the other four.
      Hence, it is not weird that Vidit is missing from the list.
