You often talk about “Professor Google” but there’s another more informative site…Professor Jenny at Gardening with Creekside. This video was so informative, Planting with Jenny 101.
Hi Jenny, I see you ordered plants for research, thought I would pass on my experience. I have been ordering plants for years for my zone 9b garden in Tampa. Here are a few of the best nursery’s I have continually ordered from based not only on quality plants but quality packaging. For perennials and annuals, of course Proven winners is amazing, others include Romance Gardens, and Bluestone perennials. For 1-5 gallon shrubs the top for packaging is The Tree Center, I have ordered at least 100+ shrubs mostly boxwood. Once you reach a certain $ shipping is free. I have never lost one of their shrubs they definitely have packaging and shipping large shrubs down to a science. Other nurseries of note are Wilson Brothers, and Garden Goods Direct, both of which I have ordered shrubs. Hope this helps in your research. I can’t wait to be an online customer of your!💗
If you’re looking for an exemplary example of product quality and shipment packaging, hands down, Rare Roots has been the best. I am an avid online plant shopper…name a company, and I’ve likely purchased from them. If you haven’t already, I’d highly suggest ordering from them to get an idea of their set up. Annie’s has some great plant selections, but their shipping price is astronomical. I’m so glad you started selling online. I’m looking forward to purchasing from you, and wish you great success!
Beautiful plants! It has been a horticultural disaster in Louisiana; over 60% of the state is in exceptional drought, with almost no rain since July and 40+ days over 100 degrees with 2 reaching 110. My area is almost 30” behind on rainfall. Almost my whole garden is dead. I live vicariously through UA-camrs now!
Good morning Jenny, glad to see you trying out the milkweed from prairie moon. I have been researching them for about a month now. I’ll definitely be watching to see how it grows.
It's sometimes hard to cut plants back that are otherwise healthy looking and vigorous. Autumn Sage is one of those plants that really does need to be cut back to about 4" every late winter. They can sprawl and look rather mangy if you don't. I have ten year old plants that get cut back to 4" every year and they still grow 3 feet and very full. I don't think I've ever seen a pest or bug on them.
I love my Salvia greggii as much as the hummingbirds do! Mine is in less sun than it would like but still blooms well. Can't wait to see how the milkweed does.next year! 🦋
❤️ Plant Delights! Salvia gregeii is such a great native along with the others you should have a great long season for pollinators. 🙄gotta love that NC clay soil 😬
I would like to plant some milkweed in my son's Memorial Garden. I will be watching yours to see how it grows, I live in Northern Illinois. He always loved wildlife and i can see going more native because of my deer pressure.
Any chance you might let us see you treat the girls (ok so they are chickens)? I can not have chickens as a senior in a smaller home. Thanks for keeping up to date on the changes at the nursery!!!
Thanks for the detailed reminders on why you are planting the way you do. I needed to hear it again. I'm pretty sure I killed a lot of saliva by amending too much in our black CA clay. How is your Temple of Bloom doing?
@@GardeningwithCreekside I know that as a fact. Those rascals! I literally heard a deer snorting. I thought it came from my backyard until I skipped back on your video and heard it again.
Hey friend, totally unrelated to this video, but I just texted you back (again) so let me know if you didn’t get it!! If not, we gotta get that fixed ASAP!! 😂
Loved this video, Jenny 💚 how many of us here love watching Brynna play in the background? ✋🏼
Yes! When they both heard the alarm Brynna was like, “You keep videoing, Mom, I’ve got your back. But wait, if it’s Dad, I’ll take him this stick.” ❤
@@kellyk1078 exactly! lol 🥰
For sure,
@@kellyk1078 🙋me too!
✋🏻
Brenna is so entertaining in the background! 🎃🍁🍂💚🙃
❤😂the similarities between pruning off flowers and disciplining children!! EXCELLENT😅

Those Salvia are gorgeous! Wish they could survive here in New England. Always love the team of brynna and her mama gardening together😊❤

Good on you for promoting native plants. We all need to add more native plants appropriate to our area to help our native pollinators thrive.

These are all of the qualities we love in perennials, especially the ones in front of the house where the deer 🦌 can get them! 😀
Can't wait to see all your gardens next year, Jenny. Love the natives.
Jenny , thank you ! 💜💙🏡
Love Love Love native plants!!
I’m with you Jenny, I plant sticks this time of year. Usually off the clearance rack at the store. Well worth it if the roots take and they survive.
You had me at "deer tolerant" 🦌 ❤
Awesome video, can't wait to watch all these native plants grow next spring. ❤

Good morning ❤
Good morning!
Thanks Jenny. I’m looking forward to watching them grow ! 🎃🍁🍂💚🙃
That view back toward the house is very pretty. A true gardener gets excited about planting a bunch of sticks, lol.
Going to be so beautiful! I wish I had a full sun garden so I could have some of these gorgeous options. Oh well, I’ll embrace the shade and deer 😊

Good morning all. We must be having Indian Summer 80* in Ohio. How's the new structure progressing?
Thanks for the detailed reminders on why you are planting the way you do. I needed to hear it again. I'm pretty sure I killed a lot of saliva by amending too much in our black CA clay.
How is your Temple of Bloom doing?
It is doing fabulous!!!!
Hi 👋 Jenny
👋🏻
6:18 as you say deer resistant, did I hear a deer laughing at you (snorting)?
Deer resistant does not mean deer proof 😉
@@GardeningwithCreekside I know that as a fact. Those rascals! I literally heard a deer snorting. I thought it came from my backyard until I skipped back on your video and heard it again.
@betsybugsmith5324 Sorry, I misread your comment 🤦🏻♀️ That was a chicken squawking 😊
I have hard time using organic fertilizer because my dog is very attracted to it…
So most of the shrubs, trees in the chicken coop area aren't on drip irrigation
None of them are. There is irrigation from the holly trees down (which was installed when we planted the hollies & hydrangeas).
Where do you order your phenomenal lavender from?
We grow it.
❤
