- I assembled my modified design of drill press for another fence company. I share the changes in design, I get to test the new filter on camera on short tig welding part of this project, share the results of the chuck runout with motor in place, and run the pneumatic travels of machine though their travels and talk about speed control.

Nice work Keith, that drill press sure is an impressive piece. Thanks for sharing another great episode.
A fine piece of workmanship
The linear bearings you show about the 10 minute mark i have not seen before
Beautiful machine!! Thats how things should be built..so it can be seeviced and repaired..great job.clean af
That dog bone link between the rod eyes on the vertical travel is super important. Some people may bot understand why .
Double shear is quite important!
Exquisite work, Keith. All she needs now is a brass nameplate adorning her top.
I have made a lot of one off devices for IBM ! It’s real satisfying when you finish a project and it works the way it should !
always impressed with attention to detail and function
brilliant !
that is the largest Vernier calliper I have seen !
Great American ingenuity right there.
Nicely done Mr. Fenner!
Just an amazing design and build. Ingeniously distilled and so creative. Keith Fenner, truly an American badass🇺🇸
All it needs now is your company logo/name sticker. Beautiful workmanship!
Your a magician Keith a pleasure and a privilege to watch your handy work.
Thats a lovely machine you've built there Keith. Very satisfying.
I seldom know where you're going but I am always impressed
when you get there! Good job Mr Fenner.
Nice work Keith. Thanks for sharing
Nice build, Keith. Thanks for sharing it.
Great design and video! Thanks Keith, & keep on making America better!
Excellent project, all aspects well thought out. Safety considered along the way.
Mr Keith, you sure a smooth operator, nice piece of work, fabrication is an art form 🤗👴🏻
Great design and assembly!
Fantastic job! That machine should last for ages
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Nicely done! Knowing your quest for quality an idea I’ve seen others do is use retired flat fire hose as a wear guard over hydraulic hoses on skid steer implements. I’ve also seen it’s possible to buy new hose in many different colors and sizes. Might make an interesting enhancement for the air lines. Wishing you the best.
Premium work as always my friend, outstanding! Thanks Keith.
I have used the Dixon markers and they are great. Thanks for the Menards tip, I ordered 6
Great job Keith.
Beautiful Keith, thanks for the content and greetings from the NJ Bayshor
Sweet, nice job Keith. 👏
Nice job Keith.
Nice work Keith.
Brilliant Keith
As always, nice work. -Built something similar many years ago,- I used air over hydraulics to regulate the speed, & take out any springiness in the air. I Also used two motors, arrang4ed so that the machine would drill up from the bottom about an inch, then drill down from the top, so there was no unsightly breakout in the bottom of the timber. The machine was used to build playground equipment. 🤠
Excellent job awesome design I'm surprised you didn't build it. Multiple spindle .. Now we just need the visioning system and we're already to automate... tulip anyone
I always have a tap of each size that I grind a flat onto. This works well with a hand drill chuck, allow the drill to float in your hand and tap or clean threads.
Great video Keith, I like making one off machines, fantastic job!
Nice machine..good job. Enjoyed
Really nice design! Thanks for sharing 👍
Hey Kieth I got a request it shows from you to message you on telegram and I don’t have that
nice, simple and effective design anf fabrication.
Great build…enjoyed
Really nice work.
Like the new opening.... the work was interesting too!
Glad you liked it!
Yes, Menards is pretty awesome. Got one down the street that I go to at least once a week.
Real Nice job Keith
Fantastic I love it. I would love to see it in action.
as always ....INCREDIBLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good job beautiful machine
Keith that is one very neat design sir! Everything is Bubba proof and it would be pretty hard to break this machine. The only really susceptible parts are the airlines to my mind. If I were in the States, and in the fence business, I certainly would want one of your drill presses Sir! Ten out of Ten!
Love that intro ! Please don’t ever change it.
Nice piece of engineering.
Great job!
You are the last of your KIND, You know that RIGHT. Love YOU
Hi Keith and Lisa 😊, nice machine, built whith alot of thought , and attention to detail. You probably already know this , but when trying to measure two shafts, or holes for centre , if you measure from the left hand edge of one shaft to the left hand edge of the other shaft that gives you the exact centre to centre of the two shafts, same idea for two holes. You could use the right hand sides of both points it would work just the same. If you forgot this trick I forgive ya, so long as you forgive the clumsy passer by who broke your marker, ha, ha. Thanks for another interesting, best wishe's to you and Lisa, Stuart UK.
Thanks for sharing, thanks for posting
very good job mr fenner
I am confident in your fabrication abilities 😊
High praise from someone who isn’t too shabby himself
nice work!!!
Over here in the UK we get pens like that made by Tracer and the pen end is double ended so if the tip gets broken or mushroomed out you can pull the chrome nib out and turn it round.
Thanks for sharing
For smaller holes, foam earplugs work well to keep paint out.
Good job ✔️
Good job, can you put a video on while it is operational
Great job. May want wrap or put something around the air hose where they rub against the support corners as I saw them fret just a bit when actuation the air and I could see them fretting and rubbing a hole through the air line. Love the build.
Slit a piece of the correct size of automotive heater hose and wire tie wear it rubs, that makes a quick wear point for air and hydraulic lines.
Very impressive build, Kudos. :o)
Hey Keith, nice work! Could you machine small grooves on the fence rods at 1" intervals so they could have a rough visual reference for fence setting? Maybe that would be helpful.
Beautifully sung ❤✨🎆🎇🎵🎶
Indeed Keith, God Bless America!
Keith loved da song . God Bless!!
I like it! 🥸👍👀✅❗️
That's a great looking drill press. I wonder if your customers would be interested in a multi-head design capable of drilling a complete post in one go.
Maybe one day
aww ! no drilling demonstration ? good work Keith
Nice Keith, I would have set the vernier and scribed the lines from one end just like a pitch off on the mill lol
They are kind of blunt on ends of anvils, That does sound like something I would do! LOL
@@KeithFenner You are a good trades man Keith.. A bit whacky but good lol ATB from the UK
You're very "humble" that wasn't luck that was "skill" ....period!
37:05 A touch of OCD is valuable, in my own experience. It leads to patient attention to the finer details of the job[s] at hand.
I know that "ring of tools" we call it a "bomb crater" here ....
Awesome :)
Very nice work. Do you attach a “Made by Keith Fenner” plate or sticker?
Great design!! Where do you get those metal adjustable handles?? All I can find are plastic ones.
Mc Master Carr
for the people worrying about the bearings. it's a wear item, as long as the people in the shop are half way paying attention to the product they make and noise in the shop then they will know when it's time to maintenance the tool.
I sure would like to see it work. How do I see it work?
Thumbs up to your patriotism, Keith.
Olá amigo Keith!!!
Gostei do trabalho de montagem!!!
Boa sorte sempre com muita saúde e paz!!!
Hi Keith, how does the USA ohs like the one button clamp setup? Here in Australia, we need two buttons so no hands can get clamped.
Glenn5077, ssshhh! 🤫
Nice work. How high will the car lift arms go up so that they are out of your way on the floor??
Keith could make a nice variable height table with that if he ever needed to, he may have brought that up when he was moving in. Lots of choices, it would be nice to have.
The Palisade Press...get yours today
You are drilling a wood fence post. If the runout cannot be measured with a ruler that should be close enough those ship augers or self-feed bits have some runout and even variation is size. Plus because of variation within the wood it will cause a bit to move,
What does it actually do? It looks like it clamps and then drills a hole in one operation?
I think I gave you the Dixon long reach markers in the what’s in your box giveaway!
I remember having them in the give a way! My mind ain't what it used to be! LOL I might of still picked up one at the bash. Anyhow, I crushed it 💪 🤣
The motor is a bit of a mystery to me. I supposed it had to be bespoke made for thrust loading.
Impressed you Not use the "guees a meter's" comment.
Menards is the best. In some stores you can buy anything from ammunition to tampons. If I was single and one was close to me they would cover 90% of my shopping needs.
nice ......how much is it
~ I SALUTE YOU FOR THE MORAL * AmericanEagleWON * SOUL YOU ARE !!!
~
Dixon Long reach @ 6 years each = 36 years You should be all set chief!
BTW Keith, do you still have the 944? Any projects on that ?
Too bad we couldn't see the machine in operation.
What industry is this mainly used for?
Fence building
Лайк.
May we ask who the smasher was 😊
Whoever it was is an "idiot" not too stupid though, he bought 6 replacements. 😉
Keith kept saying some idiot, so I’m assuming that Keith had something to do with it. He’s not big on insulting people, other than maybe the big guy! Lol!
Hi Keith, first off I love your show and watch every one for years. I know you are busy, and don't want to waste your time. I am interested in having you cut out a pies of aluminum 1/2 inch thick. It is a custom carb spacer for my 64 MALIBU SS. I have an STL file that I cant covert into a format that I can send to (SEND CUT SEND) for some reason I cant figure it out. I would like to see if you could help me out, and cut it out on your Plasma or Waser. I know that its a stretch. Have a good one, and keep up the good fight.
You need to convert a face view to DFX file to cut with those machines. cheers, Keith
Is this for sale?
This vernier must be a worth of 3.500 US$ , so i presume. Greetings from Germany.
@21:00
Gonna do some sketchy shit - doo dah!
I hope I get away with it - all the doo dah day!
Yeah, rolling sideways on the chuck scroll! LOL 😆
