Plants do feel my mom always told me to be gentle to plants because they feel. Everytime we would harvest are tomatoes and beans we would be gentle. It’s no different on farms the animals are treated very well before they are slaughtered. A farmer can be fined big time if they are caught abusing an animal.

This youth spends more money on makeup, hair dye and clothes than most people spend on food.
I think in this day and age where children are that spoiled that they have everything they want, they have nothing to grab onto that gives them any sense of purpose so they jump on these band wagons to give themselves some relevance.

She needs to do the research bc companies will slap a cruelty free label & it doesn’t mean they don’t use research animals it could mean they don’t kill then after or they humanely treated them when euthanized.
Also, if any of her money or any money that is made & used to support her had anything to do with exploitation (their word) of animals she is not a vegan. I lived most of my life in the Central Valley of California. I remember as a kid you could see all sorts of fruit growing in the fields from apples to oranges cherry’s, strawberries list goes on and on, but now in 2023 all you see is nothing but almond and walnut orchard. The bees are here but not how they use to be. Drive down any backroads here and you bound to find a couple of save the bees signs but nothing changes just more and more almond

I don't judge anyone's diet but I've been vegan for 2 years and I love it!
I began the vegan diet at age 49.
I'm now 51.
I'm also no-SOS (which is a bit extreme).
No-SOS means no added salt, oil or sugar.
Aches = Gone
Pains = Non-existant
Headaches = ZERO
Joints = Pain free
Weight = Lost 20 pounds with zero exercise.
I honestly feel like I'm 30 years old again.
My diet is 100% vegan.
95% of my diet is: WHOLE fruit, WHOLE vegetables and WHOLE grains.

You aren't feeding your brain the proteins and amino acids that were used to develop it over hundreds of thousands of years. All "large brained" mammals are carnivores. That would be whales, dolphins, orca, and humans. How many generations of vegans will it take before you start dragging your knuckles again.
I had the same results and more by going carnivore. On top of that, it's helping a lot with my medical condition (Multiple Sclerosis). People need to stop listening to dieticians and activists etc, think for themselves, figure out what works them, their body types and genetic make up. Problem is a lot of peolle don't think for themselves.

Most vegans quietly get on with their dietary choices. The guest is an extreme vegan but maybe she feels she’s got to shout about it because perhaps no one listens? For example, many people are ignorant to the fact that chicks are thrown to their deaths simple because they are male.

I dont eat anything with a face
I am vegetarian. This is my choice. I know there will always be meat eaters so I don't necessarily agree with people who shout out trying to convert people to veganism or whatever. I never considered telling my husband to stop eating meat and cooked it for him. I didn't enjoy dealing with it but he had to eat what he liked. We agreed to differ. No point in arguing. When I tell anyone I am vegetarian they launch into telling me how much they like meat as though I am trying to 'convert' them. I would never assume to do that.
As for the supermarkets I have found they catered for vegans over vegetarians which made shopping difficult. I ask for the vegetarian section and would be led to the vegan section. Hopefully the vegetarian foods will gain more prominence now but I won't hold my breath.
One thing I noticed is once somebody becomes a vegan they lose like 70% of their friends
nothing wrong with going for products that do not involve killing a living thing, but have the respect for others with how they want to live thier life and what they eat, even if they are your kids (unless its unhealthy like living off sweets and snacks only)
It depends on the personality. I have vegan friends and they attend our summer bbqs.
They eat what everyone else eats, as there's always plenty of salads, breads and fruit, and they can bbq corn and vegs. Nobody demands they eat meat.
Everyone is very chill, and that's why we're friends.

This is not the behavior any person should accept from a journalist, it's what you'd expect from a toddler. He just keeps using these asinine arguments and then constantly interrupts the guests when they try to respond and then attempts to provoke them by eating meat to illicit a negative response regardless of how many times that has failed before. I don't get why he believes they are gonna be so offended or throw a tantrum when vegans will see animal products all the time everywhere, they have friends and family who aren't vegan. I have been a vegetarian and then vegan for about 45 years and I feel sorry for the ignorance of overweight, unhealthy looking individuals like Piers. As for statistic's, I don't where he gets them which are irrelevant to discourse in Western society where approximately 1 in ten are either vegetarian or vegan. Maybe lobbying for a tidy sum by the animal industry stimulated this episode?

As someone who is vegan why would it bother me if someone eats meat in front of me. Anyone who is levelheaded is not going to be bothered by someone doing whatever they want to do. Reason pier don't like vegans because he can not stop himself eating meat.
Entire world can easily be vegetarian if not vegan. Key is you learn to cook and make good food. Another thing is you need to ensure you are getting proper vitamins minerals and good amount of protein. It’s not that hard at all. You have to just make the effort to do the research and make the food. It’s fun too. Say no to meat.

Hi Piers, I love your show & and the reality truth! I myself was abandoned, grew up on streets, sick with polio, abused, teen depression & suicides attemps, struggling as young adult & drugs. Why do Vegan seem to have hate in their eyes when debating
Im a vegetarian, not vegan, and the rest of my family eats meat. I buy it, i cook it, i have no problem with it. I just dont like eating it myself. I do eat cheese and i eat things that contain eggs, i use honey and wear leather and if i could afford a nice fur i would wear it. Its just diet, and if vegans would be normal about it and not push their choice on others, people wouldnt make fun of them so much.
I think that's mostly a stereotype. Obviously we aren't hearing from all the vegans who don't talk about their diet.
But it's interesting to me that Tomi agreed with the main point of vegans: factory farming is an atrocity. Whether or not ranchers love animals is beside the point. Almost all of the meat we buy is procured in a monstrously unethical and inhumane way. This is why the government will literally prosecute people for filming the practices used in factory farms.
So it should be stopped, which means people actually would need to eat less meat until we get better at lab-cultured meat.
Vegans push their lifestyle choice onto others because they're animal rights activists. They're probably the same environmental folks from "Just Stop Oil" or other climate activist group. Little do they realize their protesting is driving people away from them.

I’ve watched your vegan debates on UA-cam
I was vegan since 2017 and I now have a one year old boy and we’ve decided to not raise him vegan.
We’ve gone from being a family of vegan activists, to a family that eats meat, fish, dairy, eggs and honey and we also support those hunting animals for food.
Most vegans fail to understand that not everyone wants to go vegan, and some people can’t be vegan.
I’ve seen the lengths activists go to try and get their word across and I was influenced by this and nearly cut off my whole family.
Watching your videos helped us in our wake up call

Well guys I've always had multiple pets love animals but I'm a hardcore carnivore meat eater haha. As a human being the body craves fruits vegetables and meat so I can't help it.

Prob is, meat is a great nutrient package, often more easily digestible with less volume required than vegan diet. Getting older need to up keep muscle mass. Meat baby. Meat.
I disagree that veganism protects the environment. Sustainable farming and ranching protects the environment. It’s very important to protect the bees. No bees = no food.
I'm vegi/vegan though that's a personal decision each to their own personally i think there are less becuase the price of the products have gone up so much its impossible to chose vegan products when they are twice if not more the price of meat products.

To be fair, it is teoretically possible to (mostly) substitute meat with plant matter. Back in collage, we tried to calculate what we'd need to substitue a single roasted chicken breast. Jesus christ. We ended up with like 2 times the weight of different herbs, vegetable, fruits and plants. It ended up costing like 6 times more and tasted WAY worse. All that... for a single roasted chicken breast.
Problem was that an organic matter (meat in this case) is much easier to digest by human system than plantmatter. You know how when you eat corn, the husks go right through you. That kind of problem. Organic matter on the other hand is very easily digested and absorbed, leaving only some components which I have no clue how to translate and don't care enough to look it up. XD
So, we had to do quite a lot of tests with various chemicals to see just how much would get digested. I won't bother anyone with details... it was gross, but a very interesting long project for several faculties.
Then, we had to calculate it all together and see how much of each component we had to replace and do a tidious (annoyingly tidious) research on all sorts of plants that have these components. Such as fibres, various vitamins, proteins and so on. Once we had the list of various herbs, fruits, veggies and such, we had to ballance them all out to match the chicken breast as best we could. Again... tidious work over several days. Fun fact: We almost picked a few that had good ammounts... but were poisonous. XD
Finally, once we figured out what we needed, professor got us all those ingredients on school budget. You should've seen our faces when we came to lab one day and just saw this hill of colors next to a single pack of chicken breasts. XD God I wish someone took a pic.
But best one was professor from chef faculty. He came to see our work and prepare the best meal he can out of what we gathered up. My god, I think he's cursing our names even now. XD
Needless to say... chicken breasts tasted way better.

Vegetables are alive but they are not sentient as far as we can tell... We know nonHuman Animals are Sentient and can suffer/feel pain as Human Animals can... Huge important difference if you're being honest... ;-)
