  • First time fishing and exploring lake Gordon! Managed to nail some well conditioned browns feeding on redfin in fast flowing inlets. Will be back.

      Cheers! They weren't holding back, most of the fish had a few in their gut contents. It's got live baiting on my mind for a future trip.

When I look at your guys content I am shocked that you don't have heaps more views and subs, honestly your content is way better than mine but you guys aren't getting the recognition on UA-cam yet. Looks like I’ll be doing a lot more trout fishing now. The new flathead limits have pretty much ruined this summer :(

      yeah on the right day trout fishing can produce a good feed, this was one of them

    Looks like the Wedge arm. You’ve done really well for Gordon. It’s a massive lake but you’ll only find fish where the water is flowing. Almost zero fish elsewhere. The constant drawdown and fluctuations make it near impossible for any food sources to establish

      Cheers mate, we were pretty please with our efforts. Normally we fish creeks so finding flowing water is our go to. On a recent trip back to Gordon (video to come shortly) we fished another area with very limited success on the trout, but plagues of redfin. Even in a decent sized inflowing river there was very little life, certainly still a lot to learn about fishing larger waterways.

      @@SouthernBushBrosSBB yeah that sounds more like the ‘usual’ Gordon trip. Very hard water. Very few trout unless conditions and timing are perfect

    Never fished Gordon, but was lucky enough to fish Pedder in its hey day. Going to the supermarket in Strathgordon & seeing 20lb+ monsters in the freezer was incredible.

      I can only imagine a trout of that caliber! The hope is that one day we will come across a giant in Gordon or Pedder, they would be very fitting waters to pull a PB fish out of.

    OH ! And by the way dudes, when you throw your beany on ...throw a chainsaw in the back of the ute every time you head out into the scrub... You looked like a goose when you came accross a limb over the track and had to bullshit back out of it.

    OK ... Where's the huge trout that your thumb nail suggests ?????
    I see a hand full of smallies but not a huge trout in sight.
    There have been many trout caught out of the Gordon that tipped the scales from 15 to 20 pounds...they were big fish.
    there are still big trout in Pedder today .

    Hey boys, about to spend a night near pedder and gordon. Wondering if you had any tips for land based locations? Im going to try and talk to the locals but ill take any tips i can get 🤙

    • @SouthernBushBrosSBB
      @SouthernBushBrosSBB  7 місяців тому +1

      Hey mate, sorry if this finds you a bit late. For me, a bit of persistence in Pedder has been key. My most common technique is to find a stretch of bank that looks fishy (more mud or button grass than hard rock, a drop off or shallow flats depending on time of day, submerged tress etc) and then just work your way down the shore casting lures. remember to put the odd cast along the shore where you are going to walk incase a fish is holding close in. Morning and evening is most productive, particularly on a bright summer day. I dont know a lot about Gordon other than the spot in this video. It might be possible to access land based, but I haven't. All the best!

      @SouthernBushBrosSBB appreciate the reply. We just left pedder and pretty much did what you said, darker coloured hard bodies and darker coloured plastics were used but no luck unfortunately. Was hoping the resort there would have a kayak hire but they didn't, land based was pretty limited and the bushland was hard to get through to find spots away from people. Definitely saw some fish jumping and tried the morning/night times.
