After watching this video I ordered the HD111. After watching one of Rick’s other video on how to make a template and cut my own system I gave it a shot with this HD111. Man oh man… not only did I nail the cut and install, but I’m fortunate enough that Rick’s Hair Co was so close to me that drove on over and Rick the man himself cut in the new unit. I wish I could put pictures in the comment because the results would speak for themselves. Best hair unit I have ever bought and best cut in/style I have ever had. I have only been wearing hair units for a year now but I have gotten a lot more figured out from your videos Rick! Keep on keeping on my man! Thanks for all your help with videos and advice!
Rick, I was about to sent out a posse! This is one of your best videos yet… packed with information for just about anyone interested in Superhairpieces. Have a great weekend, Cheers Brad
Thanks for the great comparison, Rick. The HD111 was very natural, but lasted only 3 months. So I went to the M101....I agree that it's a tank....I'm on the 5th month and it still looks great. Yes, it's higher density....every couple of weeks I take a few snips at it with thinning shears and it looks better and better. Also a couple of weeks ago I snipped the front poly with scalloped pinking shears ever so slightly and the hairline is completely undetectable. Previously, at a certain angle the light catches the hairline and I can see a slight line going across my forehead....now with the "imperfect" hairline, it's invisible.
You are a real real man. Not many left in this world! As a female unit wearer for 20 years, you got all our secrets now! Male units are getting hot in England, the stigma is going and "unit attitude" is changing, for the better. One question , I don't use poly, I used swiss lace. The cleanup is tricky but it has great longevity, and the lace doesn't reflect light. What is the reason you don't promote lace units? 🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸
Thanks for the response. I used lace at first but didn’t like the cleanup. Skin just works better for me so,it’s where I have all the experience. Peace. Good will!
Greetings! Thanks you! The reason I don’t promote lace units is because that is not where my experience is. I have one video where I talk about my experience with lace, which was positive, but I’ve chosen skin for myself. So I talk about my personal experiences and it’s all about the skin for me LOL. PEACE MY DEAR!
Thanks Rick! If I get brave enough to do this, I may come and see you the first time, you’re not that far from me! Cheers! You look great! Also have great style!
Such an outstanding video, from a long time HD111 user. My experience with durability is the same. Considering going to the M111, because at 65 it may be more age appropriate for me. I learned a lot from this video. Perhaps even the HD111XT next year; if I could get 2 months out of it, like the HD111 (it can go longer), it would be very affordable. Dave
Rick, AMAZING video, as always!!! Thank you so much for going through the different systems. I've not tried Superhairpieces yet, I've been a long time Lordhair and Lavivid customer, but I'd like to know how the hair quality is. I have a big problem with the hair turning to straw in a matter of a couple weeks with the systems I have now. I don't use heat, or sprays or anything on them. Have you experienced any sever drying out of the hair from SHP?
Hey man, good question. So, I do not have them go to straw like that. I have a friend who used another company and had the same problem. With Superhairpieces it stays in good shape for weeks. I also use AVEDA botanical products on them and it really helps.
@@thehighlevelman Thanks Rick! I'm definitely going to try using the AVEDA products. I found some Joico products that have made a HUGE difference regarding the texture of the hair. I wish AVEDA would bring back their old Sapmoss shampoo and conditioner. That stuff was an absolute miracle!
I love watching your videos. You blew me away last year when I saw you for the 1st, and you were changing your piece out. You look so complete and younger looking with the hair. I might figure out to have a phone consult with you sometime. Could you do a graph for the 4 systems with features of each one and put it on the screen. I love your style from your hair to the thumb ring. I just my thumb ring back on because of you. I got lots of criticism when I wore it last year. So I took it off. But I got a lot of criticism when I grew my beard out, and I survived so I can survive a thumb ring. Lol . I'd live to make videos too.

So, lots of ways to make me happy. Gotta tell ya, I laughed out loud at the “thumb ring” comment. I suppose that in caring about people I don’t really care if they approve of all I do. HI RICK ! I'm in Cleburne ,about a mile from your shop . I wanted to ask you if this hair can be purmed just in the back , the longer part .I have a mullet and my hair in the back has a lot of curel. Thanks Cody in Cleburne
Couple questions for you. Do you have synthetic Gray or human gray in your piece? I love the look of synthetic gray Hair, but will frizz out after 3 weeks. I'm a long-term wear and no. That you need to be careful with synthetic Gray hair. I've done all I do to try to keep it from freezing. But have rarely gotten more than 3 weeks out of it.
So, if you’ve watched my content you will know I choose synthetic grey. My experience with natural grey has been the opposite for me. The natural grey was frizzy from the get go. I know, it’s weird we have had different experiences. I blow my hair dry and the natural grey just was all over the place frizzy. Maybe I need to try it again. I always use a leave in conditioner and dry on a low, heat setting - gently- and slowly. I wash it every morning and condition with Aveda botanicals product. It’s pricy but worth it. I understand totally, only three weeks of it being good is certainly not enough! Maybe the product I use makes a difference. Thanks for the question….. have a good one.
So, it depends. With them being hand made they are all just a bit different. If it’s super thick I get to texture the cut a lot and that gives a different look. I love the density hd111 has though. Thanks for asking. Peace!
Have you seen the M101V hair piece?, if so what do you think about it and how does it compare to HD111. They said it was also 4-6 mill . I'm currently rocking the HD111 and get about 5-6 months out of it on avg I've had it longer.

I'd love to see someone REALLY put Lavivid, Lordhair, Superhairpieces, Hairpiecewarehouse, Hairskeen, etc. Especially those first three. Really dive in and compare, which would be expensive for someone to review because they would have to probably pay for one of each of them. (I've had one Hairskeen, one Lavivid, and one Superhairpieces, and I've liked all of them, with Hairskeen possibly the "softest" hair quality, but all good, really. 80 percent density, A shape hairline, 30-40 percent gray (I've done both), and a couple with longer (8") length variable instead of the default 6"). The issue of color is really key; I have a Lavivid color ring and a Superhairpieces color ring, and they are really important -- roughly $50 each. Curious about stock systems but I've always done custom. I've had full French lace and French lace with a poly perimeter, and I think full French lace had the better front hairline. I haven't had any polyurethane because I run hot and I'm scared of it feeling hot, but maybe it doesn't. Lace is super comfortable, though; much more than I thought before I had that first (Hairskeen) system. There are SO many variables and choices. Here on UA-cam is awesome for teaching all kinds of tips, because, granted salons are EXPENSIVE AF! Rick is awesome, as is Jake Kent, as is the British dude. But I love them!
@@thehighlevelman thx so much for your reply! So we have very similar hair. There seems to be some confusion regards what you order for yourself. To order go to Superhairpieces website there you will find the information you need. If you’ve never worn a Hair System before, you might want to consider a consultation with them by phone to order.
Personally, at age 73 and having lost most of my hair by age 18, I have more than 50 years of experience as a "wearer," as we like to say. I can tell everyone here that two things have transformed this industry: the internet and instructional and informational videos, as well as the manufacture of the hair systems themselves, which have improved tenfold. I went from heavy, wiggy-looking "helmet hair" weaves made from hair wefts in the 70s-some truly bad-looking stuff-to now, whereby you can indeed have undetectable hair, as Rick demonstrates. However, I think Rick is a barber by profession. More on this later... Unfortunately, a few things have not changed in this industry. I am not speaking to SuperHairPieces as I have never ordered from them (yet). These are general comments based on my experience throughout the years: 1) Ill-fitting templates based on the 'three-finger' method of locating your hairline. If a stylist is using his or her three fingers to locate your hairline, stop them immediately! Your scalp begins where there's no wrinkling when you purposely wrinkle your forehead. Scalp skin does not wrinkle. That's the most accurate method of locating where your scalp begins at your forehead. Likewise, choosing an inappropriate frontal shape, whether too round, too straight, etc., can make a perfect product look really bad. Choose the frontal shape that fits your own taste, be it A, AA, etc. Don't leave this decision to the hairdresser. However, you should be aware that this choice is wholly dependent on how much bio-hair you still have on the sides. Again, use good taste in choosing this and discuss it with the hairstylist. If they're experienced and good at what they do, they'll convey to you the pros and cons of choosing the shape you want. 2) Bad, inexperienced, untrained hairstylists lacking any taste can ruin any product in a few milliseconds at cut-in. I had a stylist (about 20 years ago in Chicago at a major hair replacement center) completely ignore what I directed her to do, which was to style my hair with a left part and hair forward over my forehead. But as I sat in the chair (protesting every couple of minutes), she went about pulling my hair back, completely ignoring my instructions. I waited 3 months for the system to come in, and she ruined it in 20 minutes. I never went back to them after that. 4) Again, an inexperienced hairstylist or barber can cut your system, leaving "hard lines," especially at the rear of your head. It's difficult to describe, but a "hard line" is a line of system hair that's cut in a straight line horizontally across the back of your head, and there's no blending with your bio-hair. The line delineated between your system hair and your bio-hair is 'in your face' visible. It's very common to see this when you bring a system to a local hair salon to be cut-in. 3) Bad color/mismatch/monotone hair lacking variation can make a system look wiggy. Most of us have variations of color throughout our hair, e.g., lighter and darker hairs and, of course, maybe some gray. Many systems are delivered monotone. I've ordered systems from an internet supplier that came to me two whole shades lighter than what I ordered, even though I had their color ring and specified variations in color. I also had a system arrive whose color literally floated away and off the system on the first wash and down the drain. What makes Rick's hair so natural-looking isn't solely the hairline; it's also the color variation. Note the grays have a variation of shades as do the dark brown. Most hair companies have a paper "map" (you can print) of a partitioned head where you can specify by section (top, sides, back, front) the percentages of colors or gray or both. Ask for it and use it when ordering a custom system. I mentioned above that Rick is a Barber. There's a definite advantage to being able to cut and style your own hair. I have learned to cut my own hair and have done so for many years now. There are many how-to videos on UA-cam that describe the basics, including texturizing, how to scissor cut, razor cut, use texturing shears, point-cutting etc. It's not as hard as one may think, and you get better over time. Invest in a couple of mannequin heads on Amazon and practice on that. Good luck and thanks to Rick for this channel!
So much of how the hairline on the system looks depends on several variables. I have a video coming out soon that’s going to explain how that front hairline cutting makes such a difference. It can go all the way across to your temples and can curve back or it can just be kind of an oval Down on your forehead, and that will create a little bit more of a receding look on each side rather than just straight across, this is probably not gonna make a lot of sense but it’s just difficult to put into words. I need to get that video out. Sorry you had a problem.

But I love them!
you said you took this out of the box and put it on? did u cut it prior ie) style it?
Sorry buddy, I took it out of the box and cut the base then cut the style. That was a bit misleading huh!🤔. Thanks for asking!
@@thehighlevelman thx so much for your reply! So we have very similar hair. There seems to be some confusion regards what you order for yourself. Super Hair told me you order med brown with 60% gray but i noticed after watching all your videos that you say that you buy 40% grey. Maybe you can fill your fans in!!!
@@briansthomas hey buddy! Yeah, the truth is…..both are correct. I have had different combinations. All the way from 40% grey to 60%. A little all over the place. The percentage that is best for me is 40%. I’ve done more just because I get bored and can make it work. My best is dk brown 40%. Blends with my bio hair perfectly. Thanks man
Hi rick what is the max longevity for Hd111
I have worn an hd111 for three months
How do I order one ?.
These are general comments based on my experience throughout the years:
1) Ill-fitting templates based on the 'three-finger' method of locating your hairline.
Hey man, and amen to all the above. The valuable voice of experience for sure you are!
The three pieces i bought , hd 111 and the m111 hair line did not look anything close to this. A straight line with no graduation.
@@thehighlevelman I maybe old (66) but i"m not blind. THEY CUT THE GRATUATED FRONT HAIRLINE BLUNT. I have been wearing for over 30 years. I think i know a thing or two about hairpieces junior.
@@TheGuyclark1958 lol. I’m sure you do buddy! 👊🏽
Hey Rik. Loving your content - would be great to get you on my channel for a chat sometime 👍 Let me know if you’ve be up for it
Sure, that would be fun.
I love watching your videos. You blew me away last year when I saw you for the 1st, and you were changing your piece out. You look so complete and younger looking with the hair. I might figure out to have a phone consult with you sometime. Could you do a graph for the 4 systems with features of each one and put it on the screen. I can't afford a new system every time I change my hair. I'm very hot natured and don't want to feel it on my head. So breathable, 80% thickness and invisible front hair line os what I need.
Bro, you made me laugh! Especially the thumb ring part. I just tell people….”hey, I’m extra!” lol. I think I have a graph with the 4 unit comparisons. I’ll look it up. You made my morning by the way ! Thanks
