That's one thing that confused me when he was Molly. He'd often look annoyed at the rest of the cast, and it took me a bit to realise he's just in character hahah
@@TheSummerwine1Liam sometimes falls into quiet phases where he pouts and looks ready to murder someone Makes me wonder why hes playing if his mood is ao terrible until he laughs at something out of character, then goes back to pouting
I thought that I wouldn't like clay, but so far he is my favorite Talison character. I like his voice his character. He's kind of morbid but in a Charming way. He believes in life and death by in a it's part of existence and to be respected sort of way. And I like that he's a cleric which suits his name. Jester's still best girl in my opinion. She's adorable and badass. Like Laura
This reminded me of when he said "visual sight" in the previous episode. Little things like that are nice because they remind me that Matt Mercer is still a human being rather than the god of dungeon masters.
During that scene of Jester and Nott in the temple, I just kept picturing Molly watching from the afterlife and laughing his ass off. He would be very proud.
@@icymoons And it was heavily inspired by a friend of Taliesin that passed away too. (Joseph Gordon-Levitts's brother who left acting to do all kinds of extremely free spirited stuff. him passing away and molly too makes it bittersweet)
Im Nigerian, and my mom and I always have a good laugh whenever anyone mentions Nigerian scam emails. I just about spat out my water when Nott said "from the town of Nigeria".
lmao, yeah I agree with the other comments ~ I didn't even realize it was a 419 / scam reference, and straight away took offense lol AND I'M NOT EVEN NIGERIAN! wish we could all be like you
Matt: Your group has a a two week break. What do you want to do? Fjord: I travel a bit. Caleb: I sit in the library and read Cade: I sit in the park. Nott: I construct homemade explosives. Jester: I commit a religious hate crime. Beau: I learn how to punch ghosts.
@TheChiliconkarma It was a hate crime. I love Jester, but I really hope people don't confuse her for a chaotic good person. She's chaotic neutral, and desecrating someone's place of worship is quite an evil action.
@@gaigeschaal9070 , to call this a hate crime is to remove all meaning from the term. There is no implied threat, let alone an overt one. Jester pretty much summarized a major background point in the Dragonlance saga: If you let your purity blind you, you cease to be all that different from the evil you oppose. As for desecration, no. This temple's sanctity has not been tarnished in any meaningful way by graffiti that can be removed with basic spells or perhaps even a little humble toil.
@@perigraph6644 Imagine if you'd apply this on the real world... "nah, it ain't that bad that I graffitied a bunch of religious symbols in this unrelated place of worship, they can just clean it off". It's definitely not okay. But then again, I'm not religious whatsoever so maybe I just don't get how open for other religions devout people are (sarcasm btw lol). Now, I know Jester has no bad intentions, but that doesn't absolve her from doing wrong. I love Jester, she's probably my favourite character so far, but her misplaced love for the Traveler is kind of... awkward.
If Jester's escape isn't a perfect display of a goddamn TRICKSTER Cleric, I don't know what is, ladies and gentlemen. Charms, disguises, teleports, invisibility... the whole package in one great escape.
Watching her run through the gamut of random spells trying to figure out a way to escape was amazing. Disguise self, charm persons, hold persons, illusory duplicates (both singular and in multitudes), dispels, teleportation and outright invisibility. Utter madness. And she's still only level 6. Dear god I can't wait to see what she gets later.
And after the funniest most scuffed display, we then get an intense "I'm not crying YOU'RE crying" moment. Why do I see their relationship as one between a father and daughter?

In their world his character in last campaign made the first pistol so i would imagine he or matt did research on old flintlocks to add to character backstory
to be honest, a dwarfen gun would probably not use a flashpan with flint or a matchlock (not flint, but fire for the creation of the explosion on the pan, flint locks are allready the second step of gun technology). dwarfes are masters of crafting with metals. they would probably take two thin cooper pieces, put some small amount of gunpower between these pieces and hammer the copper pieces around the gunpowder together, so that a hammering on the middle will crush the gunpowder to a small explosion. it is resistent against water or wind, the mainreason for malfunctions of these muscets. in reality these copper things were invented around 18** , but they were expensive and many malfunctions happend by the creation of these copper plates, so armies didnt used them and just some aristocratic duel pistoles had these features. they got replaced with actual metal-bullets by some french inventors (while americans or birtish claim, that they created the first "real bullets" ) when the inventors figured out a way to reload and fiire in the back of the shaft and the military got interested in these inventions, because the soldiers would have been able to hide, while reloading their guns and need less speed for reloading and the gun powder were more secured. one of the biggest logistical problems for guns were weather influences or actual water from rivers or the sea on the battlefield-area. in once read about a general, who actual waited for the crossing of a river by the enemy and hoped for their gunpowder to get wet. before that around 17** most armies were developing small paper bags with gunpowder and a bullet inside it, so you just had to rip it open with your mouth, put it inside the barrel and stuff it together and than fire with the flint. these paper bags were logistical easier than former . they used snaplocks too in this technic the flashpan has a lit, that is automatical snaped open by the flint comming down on it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snaplock#/media/File:Snaphaunce_sparking.gif there are other things like match kraut, wadding, wheellocks and "Drehlings", who were used for muscets too, but its really complicated to understand everything. the actual wheellock for example was a invention around 1500 and before that even de Vinci made a small scrible of such a mechanism ~1490. these things are more advanced than a flintlock or matchlock too, but the invention was complicated to build for a whole army. technical a modern revolver was as a theoretical invention perfectly possible in 1500 and some cavarly guns look like revolvers too, but they had these 6 or even 12 shots, because they made many malfunctions by bad quality of the craftmans before the industrial revolution. in a fantasy setting dwarfs would figure gun technology out in a year and they would build in high quality. in some senses D&D should change a lot by the invention of gun powder, like every other society.
It was also nice how Liam, upon realising what an incredibly bad job Nott and Jester were doing in assembling a letter that was anywhere near official looking, just became less and less worried and could only laugh anymore
I literally showed it to my brother because at first I was just watching Sam but then I glanced at Liam, and I died of laughter and my brother is ahead of me so he’d already seen the episode and we both just died of laughter watching Liam.
It is fascinating to me to note who's watching what in that scene: * Sam and Taliesin don't look at at Laura too much, maybe because it's obvious that you're staring right at the tablemate next to you and it can throw off the vibe of a sad, intimate 1:1 scene that your character is not personally in * Marisha is interested in Laura's performance but also spends a big chunk watching hubby Matt * Travis looks to Matt occasionally but is enraptured and clearly moved by his wife's performance (lots of pained sympathy in his face, eyebrows especially) * Liam is watching Laura most of the time, deciding that she is the focal point of this scene, and seems to be very much enjoying her performance art as she expertly tugs on heartstrings
Matt: "If it's sprinkled over any edible substance..." Laura: :o Matt: "it greatly improves the flavor..." Laura: :0 Matt: "to the point it's downright distracting." Laura: :O Matt: "It's the Dust of Deliciousness." Laura: "OH MY GOODNESS!" Matt: pokerface 62 episodes later it comes back to bite Matt in the ass. Matt: :O
It was absolutely hilarious to me, I was laughing the entire time just staring at him. I also, like, once I realized what was happening played this: ua-cam.com/video/0Wi8Fv0AJA4/v-deo.html which is probably a part of why I laughed so much.
okay but have you seen the highlight video where someone edited in Bolero while slow-zooming on Taliesin's face 😂😂 Taliesin said that that's the song that plays constantly in Cad's head and the video is absolute perfection.
I love Fjord being a man of the people. He always asks NPCs names and remembers them. His interactions with minor characters always feel important to him. Travis is a master of RP
Fjord’s entire character is taken a little from every person he meets. And it makes Mask of Many Faces all the more interesting if we assume they’ll people he’s met, even in passing
He is a wonderful story telling participant. Like Liam…and Nott. And Caduceus. And jester. All of the characters that aren’t awful 😂😂🤣 How Marisha went from a character this tremendously awful to the perfection that is Laudna is confusing and impressive
Yes! He was sorely missed while they were gone. It was so incredibly boring between Molly and the Iron Chef's arc without him and Laura! Yasha was sorely missed, as well, but given her minor speaking parts as it is already, these two are definitely the dynamic the group misses (in my very own solitary opinion).
Brought back memories of campaign one with Scanlan and the triceratops hijinks. both situations were amazing and had me thinking "how the hell are they going to get out of this?"
It's much the same as an explorer's pack or a dungeoneering pack. Sometimes players just put that on their character sheet without knowing what's in it. I'm in the habit of itemizing those kinds of starter equipment everytime I roll up a character.
Matt and Laura's simultaneous realization and utter glee when realizing Laura still had capacity to turn invisible was... Amazing. When the Player AND the GM both get hype, you know the game good.
For those of you who aren't familiar with the DnD Pantheon lore, the Platinum Dragon is the Lawful Good god of metallic dragon, by its very nature, opposed to Tiamat, Chaotic Evil goddess of chromatic dragons. His all shtick is brillant white purity. Going into his temple with a bunch of chromatic paints and defying his statue is possibly one of the worst offense possible to his name. It's the equivalent of drawing a bloody pentacle in the middle of a church.
God, Jester almost breaking down into tears over thinking the Traveller was disappointed in her is surprisingly heartbreaking. Like watching a child being afraid her parents hate her
i suspect, that my 100 year old grandgrandmother is Jester. similar perverted jokes. im kidding, by grandgrandmother is dead. is my mother and her jokes.
After playing the game for a few years you get pretty used to the handbook, even more if you're the DM. Give it some more time and you'll start feeling it.
You kinda get used to where certain information can be found the more you use it. I've had my copy for about six months at this point and while i dont remember a lot of things about the game, i know where to find those details decently quickly. I can just imagine how much quicker matt is with all the years he has under his belt.
@@drpickledude That's pretty much what I'm doing with mine. I got those little notebook tabs to stick to all the pages for each class and race and any other important things. Tables aren't a bad idea for my digital books, though. Ill have to look into doing that.
Liam is a DM’s best friend. Using his downtime to research lore about the world that Matt has created, letting Matt have another genuine spotlight to share his wonderful world with us.
Jester is just a really likeable character. (unless you run a shop or temple) Also people with similar interests seem to more easily grow closer (like both being a cleric in this case)
When they were at Pumat’s and they both just had this silent whispered moment about buying diamonds I died from how cute it was. Also just the entire firbolg meeting firbolg(s?) was so cute!
As someone said when Cad was first introduced, “Clerics are like cats. They’re completely useless and lazy until you get another one and then they get energy”
@@Anegor Matt also plugged him by giving him a +1 breastplate at the start of the campaign. He also started with a dope sword. Doesn’t require much else
@@tychogoedhart286 I have not watched farther along but, I am guessing that the broken sword is something really good but, the party is not skilled at repairing it but, I wonder if Fjord could consume it for a bit of power.
Man... That entire Dragonborn's shop moment I was just thinking on how much Molly would love and have a blast in there. That shop was screaming Molly's vibe
Honestly, it's more important to the group's whole story. 😂 Sure the dodeca earned their group some easy favors with a distrustful empire but the Dust of Deliciousness changed Nott's fate without forcing the group to endure a "cost" that none of them would be happy with. The fight option would've been sketchy and not guaranteed to lift the curse even if they had killed the crone. Darker, primal magiks are nasty like that. 😂👍 So IMO that dust was the most powerful item in the whole campaign. An item's power is limited by the creativity of its user. Matt knows that, and he gleefully endured "Laura's lesson" when she demonstrated her appreciation of that fact.
The thing I'm loving about watching the M9 is that any 2 can hang out and it's not going to be boring. Nott and Fjord have a field trip? It's going to get awkward in the funniest way. Jester and Beau hang out? All of the sex jokes. Caduceus and Caleb go shopping? Easy companionable search for affordable Zemnien veggies for dinner. There are no jarring personality clashes to disrupt gameplay in the way some parties see happen.
Rainbow colours on the Platinum Dragon statue. Chromatic colours, on the lord of metallic dragons, whose sworn enemy is the queen of Chromatic Dragons... Jester is perfect, she should never change.

I love the Caleb - Beau friendship. It's like when the quiet kid and the jock are obliged to partner up for a project and at first it's really awkward and frustrating but eventually it turns into a bromance PS Please don't spoil, if something different happens later
I've not laughed this much during a CR episode. The way she was impersonating an old holy draconian man. Laura is by far my favorite, not even any question about it.
Beauregard: The Gentleman sends his Beau-Regards! Jester: Give us a Jester of your good will! Fjord: Can you a-Fjord not to pay? Nott: That would Nott be a good idea! Caleb: My name is Caleb Widogast..... Caduceus: This is nice, I like this :)
"Yeah sure, there would be an 8 month window for completion, and it'll run you about 10-12000 gold" So, nothing is impossible, but it's going to take time, and a lot of money. And Jester might just find a decently awesome weapon in that timeframe either way. I would like to see what her custom weapon would be like though! I mean, an axe that would make unhealing wounds that really hurt, turn people pink, poison them and cause them to dance uncontrollably? I like the clusterfuck of saving throws they would have to do against that axe.
Margrete Kjeldsberg so like occasionally you’re playing and you just find a weird magic item that makes no sense. This is how it got created. Someone just had a lot of time and money and exuded to create a Flesh to Candy spell
it would probably be a single CON save, which causes effects based on how badly they failed. DC11 to not be turned into candy in 1d4 turns, DC17 or poisoned for an hour, DC 14 or dance for 1 minute, and DC19 or turn pink. then they take 2d6 damage at the start of each turn for another 1d4 turns
the dancing seems similar to hideous laughter, but it doesn't make them prone, which is good for ranged attacks, the candy might have a similar construct to the disintegrate spell, poison is obvious and unhealing wounds is good too. its actually a really practical weapon, aside from the candy, as the dancing would stop people from attacking.
Matt would loose his mind and Jester would break the game like, even more xD When you see what she can do with a dust of deliciousness... Oh crap, the Traveler would crown her half godess !
Caleb "I have a lot of money" I just see the look on liem's face thinking of all the fine paper and ink he can buy with it to transcribe spells with. 😁
that whole sequence was wild and the whole top row had the best reactions to the hijinks. really felt like the gods of luck and improv were on Jester and Nott's side, that was indeed the most spontaneous chaos I have been blessed to witness
The fact that tears actually rolled down her face was pretty shocking imo, even if it was fake there are plenty of talented actors who can't fake cry. Imo it seemed pretty genuine though, she has spent about 30 weeks playing and thinking about this character who has faith in the traveler to have her back, and her character's feeling of hopelessness and betrayal inspired sadness in her. Just my potentially nonsensical take.
@@infinity6376 Not just the tears rolling but the little mini-reactions, *especially* (at least for me) when she would try to speak, realized that her voice would break too much to get through the sentence, and then she bit down on it for a second longer to compose herself. It murders the two dads (Liam, Sam) in the room XD Both of them wipe a tear off of their faces, one after the other, when she begs the Traveller to promise that he won't leave.

Jester mus have had such a lonely childhood. When she interacted with the traveler in this episode, I really felt like she must have been so desperate for a friend and a father figure for so long :(
Maybe the traveler is the father, and is basically made up by Jester in desperation for someone to talk to. She makes up a god to worship based of the one memory of someone coming to her mother.

Just seeing Jester so exhilarated to be doing something for the Traveller to like her again, then to see her heart breaking the moment she sees him again, it does something to me dude. Such a deep, psychological bond. Standing ovations for Laura Bailey with her wonderful character.
You know. Out of everyone I feel bad for Cree the most. Lost a good friend two years ago, and a leader as well as someone she looked up to. Only for him to come back, alive, but only to have him die on her again. Now, I don't know if this "Lucien" was a con artist in his past as well and simply led those people on or if he truly believed he could take them to such a place as he promised, but man my heart goes out to Cree. I miss Mollymauk because I was quite interested in his character and story. I would love and hope that they can revisit it somehow, but...Damn, poor Cree.
@@AshbeeGaming it's that bahamut is the platinum dragon, god of the good dragons, which are metallic: thay can be copper, bronze, brass, silver or gold. bahamut is the absolute mortal enemy of tiamat, the queen of the evil dragons, or... the chromatic dragons! they can be black, blue, white, green or red. not only that, but tiamat has one head of each color!
I listened to the "What they don't tell you about Tiamat" vid; apparently she can have up to 5 heads, but any combination of the chromatic spectrum. So her 'abilities' can vary widely.
She's an actress. Even the lowest tier actor can cry on demand. Children do it. Half the adults I know can do it. She's great, but being able to cry is pretty basic.

I feel like it's a rite of passage to think sealing wax and candle wax are interchangeable until an official person or your parents tell your that's not right XD.
I remember seeing it done that way in period films and wondered if it wasn't just another Hollywood misrepresentation. It may just be that their is different methods and/or chemistry and it may have changed over the years. Sealing wax would be a more guaranteed effect then.
You know, that is a mistake a Spanish person wouldn't do. I was scratching my head at that scene because in Spanish we have a word for the candle wax (cera) and another one for the "sealing wax" (lacre) and any use of it has his own verb (lacrar) so is inhately impossible to think the two materials are interchangeable from a language perspective. About the movies thing, most of those candles are red, which means they are sealing wax candles out of the box, as vermilion is a component of sealing wax.
Downtime episodes are so great It may not seem that interesting to some, but I genuinely get such a kick out of watching them shop and prepare and do things like the bath house
There are so many things about CR that are devastatingly relatable but one of my favorites to date is Travis's facial expressions while the others are shopping in this episode
I’m behind, I know. I try not to read ahead. Here’s a theory that could easily already be discovered and long discussed by now, but I just thought of it myself (but it does seem obvious at this point - and I recall a previous episode that hinted at it): Nott wants Caleb to use True Polymorph on her so she isn’t a goblin anymore. That’s why she pushes for him to train and increase in power.
I thought of this as early as the episode where Molly charms Nott to tell him why she needs the Soltryce academy recomendation Fjord has. I don't know if this will happen but every sign points to it.
RussellMovieMaker I do recall that now. I knew it was hinted at before, just forgot when. I feel so out of the know being a year behind still. The latest episode I watched they were celebrating the end of 2018. One more year of shows before I have to wait weekly with everyone else.
I have been thinking this for *ages*. I don’t think it’s a *completely* selfish motive, but that’s probably an element of it. And if it isn’t, I’m surprised nobody has mentioned it yet!
In Caduceus's downtime, I really liked the interaction between the shopkeeper and Caduceus. I mean, really, I find it funny how this lady is basically talking like Eminem and Caduceus is over here talking like a slightly stoned polite man.
I want to point out that last campaigns amazing scene where one PC (Scanlan, AKA Scanbo) terrorized a building full of people and somehow managed to escape mission successful was also an Episode 31. Campaign 3 Episode 31 needs someone tearing down a castle.
I've been making a dress while I'm watching these last few episodes and at the moment I'm doing the sleeves and I have been working on them at least two days and two episodes. I just thought to myself, "Marisha's right. Sleeves ARE bullshit!"

Taliesin's gun knowledge was actually dope and impressive
In their world his character in last campaign made the first pistol so i would imagine he or matt did research on old flintlocks to add to character backstory
@@cigar_goblin4849 to be fair Taliesin is well of random facts and knowledge so he may have known about that long before Percy
Well, Taliesin probably invented the first flintlock too speed up blood sacrifices.
Last campaign he asked Matt if Percy could make tnt out of peciticide or fertilizer or something similar, and explained the process
to be honest, a dwarfen gun would probably not use a flashpan with flint or a matchlock (not flint, but fire for the creation of the explosion on the pan, flint locks are allready the second step of gun technology). dwarfes are masters of crafting with metals. they would probably take two thin cooper pieces, put some small amount of gunpower between these pieces and hammer the copper pieces around the gunpowder together, so that a hammering on the middle will crush the gunpowder to a small explosion. it is resistent against water or wind, the mainreason for malfunctions of these muscets.
in reality these copper things were invented around 18** , but they were expensive and many malfunctions happend by the creation of these copper plates, so armies didnt used them and just some aristocratic duel pistoles had these features. they got replaced with actual metal-bullets by some french inventors (while americans or birtish claim, that they created the first "real bullets" ) when the inventors figured out a way to reload and fiire in the back of the shaft and the military got interested in these inventions, because the soldiers would have been able to hide, while reloading their guns and need less speed for reloading and the gun powder were more secured. one of the biggest logistical problems for guns were weather influences or actual water from rivers or the sea on the battlefield-area. in once read about a general, who actual waited for the crossing of a river by the enemy and hoped for their gunpowder to get wet.
before that around 17** most armies were developing small paper bags with gunpowder and a bullet inside it, so you just had to rip it open with your mouth, put it inside the barrel and stuff it together and than fire with the flint. these paper bags were logistical easier than former . they used snaplocks too in this technic the flashpan has a lit, that is automatical snaped open by the flint comming down on it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snaplock#/media/File:Snaphaunce_sparking.gif
there are other things like match kraut, wadding, wheellocks and "Drehlings", who were used for muscets too, but its really complicated to understand everything. the actual wheellock for example was a invention around 1500 and before that even de Vinci made a small scrible of such a mechanism ~1490. these things are more advanced than a flintlock or matchlock too, but the invention was complicated to build for a whole army. technical a modern revolver was as a theoretical invention perfectly possible in 1500 and some cavarly guns look like revolvers too, but they had these 6 or even 12 shots, because they made many malfunctions by bad quality of the craftmans before the industrial revolution. in a fantasy setting dwarfs would figure gun technology out in a year and they would build in high quality. in some senses D&D should change a lot by the invention of gun powder, like every other society.

As an adult with much childhood neglect, Jester's scene with the Traveler and her "do you still like me" absolutely broke me. I love her so much.
It is fascinating to me to note who's watching what in that scene:
* Sam and Taliesin don't look at at Laura too much, maybe because it's obvious that you're staring right at the tablemate next to you and it can throw off the vibe of a sad, intimate 1:1 scene that your character is not personally in
* Marisha is interested in Laura's performance but also spends a big chunk watching hubby Matt
* Travis looks to Matt occasionally but is enraptured and clearly moved by his wife's performance (lots of pained sympathy in his face, eyebrows especially)
* Liam is watching Laura most of the time, deciding that she is the focal point of this scene, and seems to be very much enjoying her performance art as she expertly tugs on heartstrings

The Dust of Deliciousness. Arguably the most important item in the campaign besides the dodecahedron
Honestly, it's more important to the group's whole story.
😂
Sure the dodeca earned their group some easy favors with a distrustful empire but the Dust of Deliciousness changed Nott's fate without forcing the group to endure a "cost" that none of them would be happy with.
The fight option would've been sketchy and not guaranteed to lift the curse even if they had killed the crone. Darker, primal magiks are nasty like that. 😂👍
So IMO that dust was the most powerful item in the whole campaign. An item's power is limited by the creativity of its user. Matt knows that, and he gleefully endured "Laura's lesson" when she demonstrated her appreciation of that fact.

Forgive me, for I can only give you a like and this comment.

Watching Taliesin get so excited when Fjord starts asking about Molly's past was adorable.
I love that Travis is absolutely against shopping but is riveted when Matt is describing the stuff for sale.
I love the Caleb - Beau friendship. It's like when the quiet kid and the jock are obliged to partner up for a project and at first it's really awkward and frustrating but eventually it turns into a bromance
PS Please don't spoil, if something different happens later
Like what? 🤔 They're not romantically compatible...did you mean if they stop being friends? 😱🤫🤣🤣
Nana Berry two things I’m pretty sure it’s established that beau is a lesbian and that’s too many emojis man

Jester's temple heist is one of my favorite clusterfucks to ever witness.
I literally could not stop laughing 😆
@@CAS896 I know, right!? I was laughing so hard my dog thought I was dying lol
It's pretty much how I would expect a Jester and Nott mission to go.
this and the hospital
if anyone ever isn't sure about crit role show them these two things to get the essence and get them hooked xD
I've not laughed this much during a CR episode. The way she was impersonating an old holy draconian man. Laura is by far my favorite, not even any question about it.
DM: you can now punch ghosts
Molly who has been following the group as a ghost looks at the 4th wall like he’s on The Office
I love to imagine Jester eventually becoming a god, and her clerics just getting these really random and out of nowhere messages.
This. ^^^
And they're ALWAYS cut off before any useful information is transferred.
Perfect. lol
campaign 4 she plays a cleric of Jester
I could see it.
"I see you pooping!"
You forgot also turning them into candy.
it would probably be a single CON save, which causes effects based on how badly they failed.
Caleb "I have a lot of money"
I just see the look on liem's face thinking of all the fine paper and ink he can buy with it to transcribe spells with. 😁
I much preferred his look when his order was delivered to him and he couldn't figure out how he was going to carry it all.
Laura Bailey is phenomenal. An absolute joy to watch. Her interaction with The Traveler is wonderful.
that whole sequence was wild and the whole top row had the best reactions to the hijinks. really felt like the gods of luck and improv were on Jester and Nott's side, that was indeed the most spontaneous chaos I have been blessed to witness
Her talk with the Traveler made me cry fr
@@infinity6376 Not just the tears rolling but the little mini-reactions, *especially* (at least for me) when she would try to speak, realized that her voice would break too much to get through the sentence, and then she bit down on it for a second longer to compose herself. Big example of this right before she asked, "Why didn't you come?" There's even a wince afterward for how much asking the question and acknowledging this pain hurt her.
It murders the two dads (Liam, Sam) in the room XD Both of them wipe a tear off of their faces, one after the other, when she begs the Traveller to promise that he won't leave.
Travis: I want to ride south, alone, for a week. Then come back.
Matt: Alright. [Describes a peaceful road trip]
Laura: I'm going to go to the temple of The Platinum Dragon.
Matt: [sighs] Roll initiative.
Tal turning briefly back to Percy brain to explain the way the gun works felt so nostalgic 😭
I didn't realise how much I was relying on the captions until this episode where they're slightly out of sync and it hurts my brain.
@@fireballedbard4620 oh my god, the pure thought is heartbreaking
14:34 I imagine Percy in his late 40's hovering over Nott like that pottery scene in Ghost XD.
I wouldn't be surprised if Percy has a cult. Yet I wonder how Percy would feel about that though.
@@zacharygadzinski3147 Pery Fredrikstein yada yada as the god of firearmsand inventions would be interesting. I am not convinced we would be a "Good" god though
@@weslooos He would try to urge his cultists to stop worshipping him which probably wouldn't work considering it's Percy. As for alignment either he would remain nuetral good or become lawful nuetral.

@@weslooos Oh, man. Percy attaining godhood would be hilarious because on the one hand, he would be pissed off at anyone who'd try to follow him, but on the other he'd need followers to enact his commandments about destroying every gun they find.
I absolutely adore Caduceus' look of awe when he met Pumat Sol, it's so fun seeing his reactions to everything
The only worse thing Jester could've done to the Platinum dragon is to craft 4 additional colored paper dragon heads and put them on the statue... making it fully look like Tiamat.
I love that we are still learning about Molly's strange past. Taliesin looked pumped that whole conversation.

I'm just imagining the traveler watching Jester and furiously taking notes
Im looking forward to the Campaign 2 Wrap Up, for sure...
I don't know if he was a good friend exactly. She said he was "charismatic in his cruelty"

I love the way Jester vandalized the statue to get The Traveler's approval and he repaid her with a natural 20 on the last stealth check!
Mat: "What kind of axe is it?"
Laura: "It's an axe."
Wait, has Jester just painted Bahamut, the Platinum Dragon into the colors of CHROMATIC spectrum?! Talk about religious hate there!
that part was amazing. I wish someone had noticed it.
What’s the significance there? Sorry I’m new to DnD and still learning all the lore!
@@AshbeeGaming it's that bahamut is the platinum dragon, god of the good dragons, which are metallic: thay can be copper, bronze, brass, silver or gold. bahamut is the absolute mortal enemy of tiamat, the queen of the evil dragons, or... the chromatic dragons! they can be black, blue, white, green or red. not only that, but tiamat has one head of each color!
yuri gouvêa wagner Oh damn! Jester truly is causing mischief then 😱 Thanks so much for explaining
I listened to the "What they don't tell you about Tiamat" vid; apparently she can have up to 5 heads, but any combination of the chromatic spectrum. So her 'abilities' can vary widely.
2:33:03 Laura actually crying had me so actually stunned. shes just so fucking impressive. wow. just wow.

I used candle wax at 7 years old, it didn't work, and I was crushed 😭🤣🤣
I used candle wax to make a seal for a D&D prop years ago and it worked great, so I was puzzled by this.
It depends on the candle
Downtime episodes are so great
It may not seem that interesting to some, but I genuinely get such a kick out of watching them shop and prepare and do things like the bath house
Plus, all of the lore and exposition! The research episodes flesh out the world and story so much. It's masterful.
The immersion is strong with this one
There are so many things about CR that are devastatingly relatable but one of my favorites to date is Travis's facial expressions while the others are shopping in this episode
I’m behind, I know. I try not to read ahead. Here’s a theory that could easily already be discovered and long discussed by now, but I just thought of it myself (but it does seem obvious at this point - and I recall a previous episode that hinted at it):
Nott wants Caleb to use True Polymorph on her so she isn’t a goblin anymore. That’s why she pushes for him to train and increase in power.
Lmao
I thought of this as early as the episode where Molly charms Nott to tell him why she needs the Soltryce academy recomendation Fjord has. I don't know if this will happen but every sign points to it.
RussellMovieMaker I do recall that now. I knew it was hinted at before, just forgot when. I feel so out of the know being a year behind still. The latest episode I watched they were celebrating the end of 2018. One more year of shows before I have to wait weekly with everyone else.

In Caduceus's downtime, I really liked the interaction between the shopkeeper and Caduceus. I mean, really, I find it funny how this lady is basically talking like Eminem and Caduceus is over here talking like a slightly stoned polite man.
