Paying 166 Australian dollars for a 50ml clone in a cheap bottle is still a lot of money. For that money, I could buy a genuine fragrance. As for Tom Ford and other high-end purchases, they are just hype. They are not that special and sometimes turn out to be a big, costly disappointment.
Having tried a number of clone brands, Insider Parfums is different. At their level of concentrations you wont even feel them to be a clone house. They're that good and I've owned a large number of their ranges.
@@sikhpilot. No argument there, it's subjective, and if you are happy then, ok. I am happy with the company that I use, the "Generic Perfume Store", high quality, much bigger range to pick from, half the price per bottle, one quarter of the price for delivery and they give you five free samples with each order. 🦘✌All the best
I think £85 for a 50ml clone is a bit expensive personally. I do own Insidious but in the older bottles which for me were a bit more interesting and original than these new ones. It smelled great but honestly I got about 4 hours out of it. I bought from the fragrance groups for around 40 pounds for near 50ml which wasn't bad at all. Dan's a great guy though and have had several dealings with him on the groups. I hope he does well in this venture
I agree, their price might be ok for a 100ml bottle but as it stands it's too much. Regarding Insidious, try it on the clothes, it lasts for days, you will have your Aventus bubble.
@CiprianFx59 just doesn't perform for me. I get more with pocket scents Imperious Elixir which smells pretty much identical. I do own Plum Harajuku too which I find brilliant, I get good performance from that. If I see Insidious Absolu on the groups for a decent price I'll give that a go too
@@wishawlad3635 I also got only 4 hours on skin, but I put like 8 sprays on my hoodie...nobody can smell it but at least I can :)) I have just a sample with Plum Harajuku, I think that will be my next order if they don't make a tobacco oud or tuscan leather inspiration. Also had Damber Wabsolute but sold it, not my style. Should I get plum harajuku or tokyo black?
Recently I had friends over to do a holiday gift exchange before we all got too busy, and of course, the gifts in question were fragrances because that's who we are. At the end of the night, a friend of mine mentioned what I had said was one of my holy grails, which is Tom Ford Japon Noir. It's been about three years since I had mentioned my regret at never finding a full bottle after smelling my decant, and many years since I had finished off the the decant. His comment was that despite knowing it exists, he's never been able to even come close to finding a bottle in the wild, and I had mentioned that we have to just accept sometimes that certain fragrances are just gone for good. The asking price may sound steep for some, but if this is a handmade, faithful recreation of something otherwise long lost to history, that is absolutely worth it and exactly why clones should exist in the first place. I don't expect most people to have smelled something like Japon Noir and I'm probably close to a decade removed from having smelled it last, but for people who care about this as a true hobby and at least want a reference point to what this smelled like, I'm glad something like this exists.
You should get Dan back on to go over his Soma parfums brand. I know Halcyon is banger of scent for you and thanks to you Chris that I grabbed a bottle and several others from Soma. His brands definitely do not get the love they deserve
I follow Dan on instagram and I love his posts and more so his genuine passion and knowledge for perfumery and his enthusiasm! I own Damber Wabsolute from Insider and I am more than happy to vouch for the brand. The quality is incredible and you can sense the love for the art in the fragrance, it’s not a cheap knock off or “clone” it’s a genuine recreation of a beloved fragrance of yesteryear. I can’t wait to try more from the house! All the best! Great video as well! 😊
I love Dan's work. Ive bought a bottle of Halcyon, Axiom, Nocturne, Carmine, Blonde and Theorem. They are just amazing fragrances, and I love everything about the Soma brand.
Good video. What I enjoy about Chris is thatbhe has gone almost full circle, starting off with perfume parlour clones up to designer the niche and now back to much higher end clones
Can vouch for insider Parfums. Especially the Damber Wabsolute. Ended up buying 6 bottles of it. Insidious is also pretty good. Looking forward to what else they can bring back from the dead. The Captain is next on my list.
Great video, Chris. I've been keen to hear more about Dan and Insider Parfums. I own 5 fragrances from the range, albeit in the older style bottles. I've yet to be disappointed. Insidious definitely addresses the shortcomings of modern batches of Aventus. Island Sling is a huge favourite of mine. It's the perfect tropical vacation scent with monstrous projection. I've yet to fully explore the newest releases but hope to soon.
I have a bottle of Moss Breches. Thank you. I wonder do they make these woth gas chromatography? Having the OG bottles would allow that. A nose could imitate, but a chemical formula would give the closest copy. Well done for doing Amber Absolute that was Carlos favourite scent
I have always thought this to be the niche clones can fill. However, how does one go about recreating the originals if the originals were discontinued due to IRFA regulations and also uses captive ingredients? Genuine question.
I own Damber Wabsolute, which is a clone of Tom Ford Amber Absolute, and it's a total banger. Recently they changed their bottling, and people say it's been reformulated, and is much weaker. I would be curious as to the owners take on the reformulation and lack of performance accusations. I got my bote before this happened, so I cannot speak to it.
I might buy few 10ml samples, but for the price of 50ml bottles, the presentation is horrendous. If I pay 85£ for 50ml bottle, I expect a presentable bottle, not something I'll hide in the back. This is the price of high end 100ml designer.
@T-BAGZ it's amazing and discontinued if its not on the page, I'm sure it's on fragrantica maybe try the community for someone who didn't like it and will sell, good luck I'm not that guy.
I need armani to bring back armani mania but a edp version with better longevity and projection always got a ton of compliments with and was my staple for years
Weird... I can understand the schpiel of 'bringing back discontinued gems' but it's also about democratizing ridiculously priced perfumes and then will also be just any type of niche release? I really like Dan and love Les Oderants so no personal resentment involved
Please please please for the love of God...make a Virgin Island Water inspired by. I don't understand why Armaf isn't doing one or anybody for that matter. (yes I already have Malibu) P.S. also Tuscan Leather and Tobacco Oudn't hurt. 😁🧐
They call it Fever Dream, I have the older version called Island Sling and comparing it with the original it is missing the refreshing opening but smells like the dry down. Not a great 1 to 1 replacement but a great way to improve the performance of the original, at least IMO. Of the ones I've tried personally the standouts are the Aventus variations, I prefer them to the current Creed versions for all 3. Their version of Plum Japonais is also good (though not identical) and of equal quality to the original. I'd say most people would actually prefer their version as it's smoother and more approachable, again IMO. Hope that helped.
Pocket Scents version of Tobacco Oud is very nice if still available. If not then Perfume Parlour's is very very close behind, with great performance (the extrait version)
It would be awesome to recreate: Givenchy Very Irresistible for Men Armani Prive Myrrhe Imperial Dior Fahrenheit 32 YSL La Nuit de L’homme (old formula) Jean Paul Gaultier Kokorico & Kokorico by Night Valentino Uomo Noir Absolu and especially Donna Noir Absolu 🙏 Guerlain Ambre Eternel Tom Ford Plum Japonais Tom Ford Sahara Noir
To add insult to injury, paying 170 Australian dollars for a 50ml clone in a cheap bottle is still a lot of money, but it gets better, delivery to Australia is $84 which gives us a grand total of $254 for a 50 ml clone. 😂😂🤣🤣😅😅 I get 100ml bottles delivered to Oz from the US for $20. Really Bruh, $254? 😂🦘Really? You gotta be taking the piss.

I ordered 5 10ml samples for my birthday. Let the games begin!
Well I have 30ml of Moss Breches 2007 Tom Ford!!!!I love it!!!My Moss Breches lasts all day!!!
Do you plan to create Plum Japonais? That would be wonderful!
He already did..Plum Harajuku, so good I bought 2 on first release.
Don't know if still available tbh.
@boogboog8097 awesome! How is it? I I don't see it on their website.

It would be great if Creed's MI was returned to its former glory!
Let’s go early for once!!!
This was the fanciest rambling I have ever heard anyone say instead of just saying they are a clone house.
I aim to please
Yet they also have their own creations, too. They're not just a clone house 😵💫🙄
Go and take your head for a shit.
You ok hun? bad day at the office :(
I miss the original Mousse Illuminée by Rogue Perfumery and the original Jubilation XXV
Armani Mania please Dan, if you read that ❤
Rive Gauche pour Homme. That last re release of YSL was tragic.
85£ for 50ml is expensive for a clone
I'd rethink the price if he wants the brand to really take off
Bring back Dior eau for Men please.
What are the scents inspired by Henry Jaques ?

Higher Scents approves this collaboration. Good lad Dan.
Creed himalaya I have and it lasts all day!!!!!
Bois Rouge by Tom Ford please.
I might get a sample or two but those bottles are hideous.

I have two bottles of a sold out perfume called island sling by Insider. It just obliterates virgin island water. Heavyweight stuff.
That’s been relaunched as Fever Dream
