Gaethje always puts on some crazy beatdowns, either of himself or of his opponent lol, like the Tony fight was super hard to watch, but I think his most devastating beatdown was in his debut vs. Michael Johnson, where he kept putting Johnson down with punches after a 2 round absolute war, and instead of going to the ground to finish the fight, would force Johnson to get back up to take more punishment, eventually leaving Johnson collapsed in a heap with a knee to the head.
I think Gaethje wanted Johnson to pay for the ugly trash-talk in the leadup to the fight. Johnson insinuated that Gaethje was inbred and talked up a game of wanting to kill him.
The most chilling moment of figgy vs joe B was him yelling in the background of the broadcast as he regains consciousness, and realised what had happened. *absolutely chilling, gives me goosebumps thinking about it*
Another fight that was hard to watch was Teixera vs Smith. One of the first few fights during the pandemic and you could just here the ground and pound, Smith breathing hard af after every punch he absorbed on the ground trying to fight back
I think this is the hardest part of explaining MMA to people who don’t watch it: I don’t WANT to see someone get hurt, but it is a combat sport and when it’s one-sided, it’s not enjoyable to watch. That’s not competition, that’s a beatdown.
If I was a coach and saw Max "blessed" holloway dodge all my fighters punches and return with a straight all while NOT LOOKING at him, that towel would of been thrown in faster than a MLB pitch.
I rewatch Holloway vs Ortega once a month. Idk how that's hard to watch. One of my favorites. Everyone was overlooking Max, even though he was the literal champ. So many people said he was going to lose. I mean the closing odds were -115 Max -125 Ortega.
I've been watching MMA since '94 and would 100% put BJ Penn vs Diego Sanchez in my top five one-sided fights and possibly at the top. The stats for BJ are off-the-charts and Diego's face barely looked like a human (much less an alive one) at the end. It was 25 full minutes of brutality. Go watch or re-watch that one and you will certainly have it on the next iteration of this list!

I remember watching Fabio vs. Texeria. It was one of the earlier fights I watched and it was before I knew who Mario Yamasaki was. I remember thinking that the ref had more brain damage than both the fighters combined for allowing that punishment to carry on for so long. Yamasaki is such a bum!
Most of these fights on the list that I saw I enjoyed watching and wasn't really bothered. This fight however I was thinking "how are they stopping this!?" from the first round. Gifford literally looked like a child being brutally abused in that fight. Probably the hardest fight to watch that I've ever seen.

@@ramirospinelli6453 Right, but at the point that it became one sided it was arguably the hardest fight to watch of all time. Aldo had completely given up and was just bleeding all over the canvas with no answer.
