getting recognition has all its pros and cons, for me PGR definitely deserves more recognition, but with that recognition often draws toxic people too. That's what been happening in a small scale within PGR community and i dont like it at all. Why cant people just dont be an asshole
with popularity and success comes toxicity. look at the communities and fanbases of all the most popular anime and video games, all of them have extremely toxic sides. Prime examples of this are the One Piece fanbase and the Genshin Impact fanbase.
I personally wouldn't worry much for PGR... By the looks of it, these people are mostly just tourists that won't stick around for the long haul, a similar thing happened with Final Fantasy XIV back in 2021, a ton of World of Warcraft "refugees" came over to the game to try it out and most of them did not stick around. Wuthering Waves on the other hand... Is actually the one being a risk of garnering that kind of shitty playerbase, mostly because a ton of Genshin players and content creators are gonna try to make the jump over to it, and I'm sure we all know how utterly toxic the Genshin fandom is... So yeah, I wouldn't worry about PGR, because it already has an established playerbase. Wuthering Waves on the other hand simply won't have that when it'll launch, and since it's going to be a """"Genshin-Like""""... it's going to attract the worst kind of players.

i am not a elitist player but i STRONGLY advise people to not stray much from the meta because of the unforgiving nature of the game, i dont chase people or "witch hunt" them just dont come whining or complaining because you cant do certain event or gamemode with your only waifu or husbando team with a build that dont make sense, Deep Blue Warzone (Selena Tempest summer skin event) is a good example of this for me. I will always have open arms for newbies and returning players and try my best to help them but if they refuse the help because it doesn't align with their waifu metality i will not waste energy

Veritas needs 15k bc to get in the gacha plus her pet, she suffers from the same issues as Alpha by not being decent at keeping sustainable damage, her burst may be strong but it's complicated to trigger and wastes time like in Warzone. Not only that, considering she'll be overtaken by Crimson Weaver, getting her now feels a little like a waste per say, both for the Selector and gacha. Idk what's more expensive for you, but for me 15k blackcards is definitely more expensive than a few materials.
I got that skin with my husbando team, also reaching lvl 700 in the current babel without the current meta characters, in the end, it also depends on the player skill itself
I'm never against new players trying out pgr or any gacha and even if the toxic side of the genshin community comes to pgr, I don't think if we really need to worry about most of them staying for long for several reasons.
Don't even expect genshin impact players to last in pgr they don't know how to dodge simply because they're accustom to shields in genshin and gonna complain how hard the game is to clear.

I get some people probably like Tectone's bombastic personality, but to me he comes off as the living embodiment of the Dunning-Kruger effect Edit: Ok so need to clear some stuff here, Just because someone falls victim to the Dunning-Kruger effect , doesn't make them a bad person, just means they are a tad arrogant. The whole effect is essentially people who are lower preforming tend to overestimate their performance. Which is natural because nobody hopes to fail, When its consistent it comes off as arrogance, and me personally I don't like arrogance.
He's probably just trolling is what I think. In his stream where he played PGR, he wasn't even past Chapter 2 of the story, and let's be real, you don't need anything else besides the dodge button and normal attacks for that early. He knows he's early in the game, so he's just acting that way for the lols.

If you're a new player, don't even bother getting the main weapons. Save your black cards for 100% rate up banners. 4-5 star weapons is enough. You should focus first on min-maxing omns. I suggest that you build 1 omn that you like for each element first, and then build a team around them. It'll help you to easily clear Warzone and Pain Cage.
I actually found it surprise that your first impression with PGR community is positive. I've seen some content creator being turned away by the community's "elite mentalist" right after they start doing content for PGR. It's very sad to see. Hope that won't happen again and we can just all have fun with the game.
Me too, I got sooooo mad... until I realized I was like him. My first time playing pgr I didn't care about anything I just pressed buttons and watched the pretty lights. My main team consisted of one fire dps, one ice tank and Vera as My main healer. My stats where shit, I couldn't broke through the 4000 BP cap even at lvl 82 of my account. I sucked a$s
tbh, i always thought the tutorials in pgr are way too 'intrusive', like youre forced to press the button celica is telling you to press or else you cant proceed. I wish the tutorials could be more lax, just give the player a heads up they unlocked something and just let the player explore the system on their own.
I think he saw the dialogue for the start of the story and then just decided "I ain't reading ANYTHING for the entire game" He might change his mind when he hits content that's actually hard and read character tutorials.

Reading is important in this game tbh. What triggers the players is watching streamers skip simple tutorial. I mean, ive seen kektone vid. The "Hold evade button" right in front of him hes still like "Dafuq should i do?!". Imho, he aint gonna last long on this game. Gonna quit over simple things coz of not reading. Well, good example is babel tower. All those texts on environment and risks levels. Even norman war has those on subskills passive. Unit's skill, need to read those so you know how to trigger it especially the core passives. And other challenge missions that needs a lot of understanding of the mechanics(i forgot the name of mode where you hire 1 of 3 charas per roll, and the entire members has bonus depends on the members). So in a PGR group, when someone asks for some stupid advice. Most of the time i just say "read". But often, i say "This aint competetive game, play the game how you want.".
After seeing 10 gacha games shut down just this week i really dont care who plays the game anymore. More exposure is always better. I invested in this game so much (both money and time)if it would shot down as well i would literally have a heart attack.
Dont worry, we will be fine. The minimum amount of time GLB version gets will be after 21 patch as there is just so much hype shit coming. Kuro also isnt co produced or anything like a lot those games, that were developed by other companies and then distributed through Crunchyroll games. Kuro needs PGR global to keep funding them in order to realize their dream of Wuthering Waves being a big contender.
Appreciate for voicing out some of the concern. Coz im actually genshin player as well. Sometimes just wish that toxic people can just keep toxic for themselves. Why cant everyone just enjoy themselves to play however they want as long they are having fun.

The thing i hate about most games especially when its newly released is that people will tend to watch tutorial on how you should start and tips for making a team for early games. Early game tips like how to manage resources aside, watching that kind of video without prior knowledge of the game, for me ruins the "new player experience". I'll watch those stuff when I'm kinda in the midgame lvl. Those new players that watched Meta related videos, like tier lists and stuffs and follows it will play around that instead of learning from experience. I know having a strong character from the get go is good and all but you're missing at least like most of the stuff you're supposed to be doing especially those competitive ones. sorry about my rambling, I just wanted to vent this because of someone from a discord server I know is really reliant of tier list and guide videos before he actually play the game...
Thankfully Kuro pays attention to other kind of creators that have actual and useful feedback to improve the game and the community is way less prone to elitism (as is really F2P friendly) and the only meta is get good... As Rexlent proved, you don't even need ranked gear if you have skill.
Main problem with pgr, it has Honkai level of animations only in CN servers and also first chapters of pgr are really boring. On top of that majority of genshin and honkai players simply cant read, they ignore mechanics of the game completely and starrs shit talking for no reason
I never against to any new PGR players or new content creators from genshin community. It was the opposite I was happy that PGR getting more recognition. My only problem if some idiots, play PGR and they got some SKILL ISSUES and too dem lazy to read skills description, then blamed the game for some stupid reasons, or even worse blame the community who tried to help them for pointing out their mistakes. Some also quit the games and blame the community for not letting them play however they want. I also agree with some of your point for elitism in PGR. But they can also refuse the advice given POLITELY, if they wanted to play with their own play style or what they believe it suits them best. Is it too painful to refuse someone's advice politely? I believe if some elitist try to force meta build or make fun of someone on how they wanted to play, PGR community would not stay quiet to the elitist. The toxic part of Genshin has already started infecting HSR. There was a recent flood of whining about an artist who made fanart of Caelus X Bronya and Caelus X Seele ships (to all ya shippers out there, ship whoever you want, all head canons are equally valid whether you like it or not). The artist is Indonesian, so the aftermath was like a verbal Doom highlights reel 😂
I recently got back into the game after taking a break from it ever since the NieR: Automata collab event came out. That's when I tried the game for the first time because I loved those characters. I didn't know what I was doing back then, and I still don't know what I'm doing today. Just kinda doing whatever that gives one-time rewards. I've been sticking with using A2 and 9S with Nanami. It's probably not the best thing to do but I love the characters and I've been doing well in combat with them. It's sad to see people gate-keeping. I watch Tectone but I don't behave like he does. I'm kinda scared to interact with the PGR community and I'm just gonna play however I want while figuring stuff out.
Its very uncommon to see such a mindful dude with common sense but that also loves the gacha game world and used to play games like Genshin Impact with a toxic ass community ( or maybe you still do idk ). you deserve the respect bro. Been trying out PGR recently, I don’t think I’ll like Wuthering much as I don’t like Genshin much because personally I don’t get on with open world games all that much. I think PGR is good but it takes a lot of time and pushing to get into it. Because let’s be honest early game for most games aren’t the most amazing. Recently I got to PGR endgame, just got Bianca Veritas and was already trying for Garnet, I’ll see if I’ll get her. If I can I’ll just build a team around Garnet, Veritas and Luminance, not a big fan of following the “meta” because games are meant to be fun and not meant to be forced into play styles you don’t want to run. Personally I’m glad I gave PGR a chance after coming from HI3rd.
I like PGR by the way, this is the first gacha game i've played, sometime anyone don't understand how to play this game like you say 4:00 or 4:52 trust me they need guide walkthrough game, even tho they made a guide video they still confusing playing it

I have discovered 2 kinds of toxic mentality in pgr in 2 months i have played. 1st is your good old meta elitist which is in every game. 2nd is the newer pc elitist saying this game shouldn't be on mobile and what a waste. Let me jst tell u i fcking hate the latter one. Another thing i have seen is that the pgr and ww communities are kinda hostile towards genshin community. I came as a neutral player in the community jst wanting to play a good game. And i jst asked some people some tips and help comparing something to honkai/ genshin and they went off on me like what? This is the first time I hear about this. From my experience the pgr community is pretty chill. The Honkai community is the one full of elitists that are hostile to the Genshin and Star Rail fans and occasionally pgr from what I know.
Sorry to hear about that, since as far as I know, while a somewhat elitist about the gameplay, the community overal is pretty chill and decent about a lot of things (Its not darksouls level, so thats a start I guess). The only part I can explain is the hostility towards the genshin community though. When ign has released some gameplay footage before the beta of Wuthering Waves came out (So several months ago now). A lot of people from the genshin community instantly started to call it a genshin clone, that it was trash and not worth the time for anyone and also started badmouthing PGR for a bit (don't entirely remember it though). You probably got caught in the crossfire, which, again, sorry to hear. Edit: oh right, and genshin content creators calling wuthing waves a genshin killer, even though, no one else said it that way.
Haha, I thought this video was going to take a much different direction. This video seems to express some very grounded concerns and I want watch more of these videos. I just picked up PGR a few weeks ago, having never heard of it before; some Star Rail content creators have covered WW with the excitement of how great the combat is going to be among other things. PGR is more challenging than most Gacha and its sorely needed. The new player experience is rather overwhelming, but you can tell a lot of QoL and passion has been put in the game. I'm blow away from character design and how generous the gacha can be. The most frustrating part so far is how hard the meta is pushed. I'm not sure about others, but for myself following meta can be incredibly boring. From my understanding a good number of characters that aren't the meta now used to be the top performers. It looks like all the characters are good and can clear all of the content if invested in and/or the player is skilled. I could be a little off, but the edge Meta teams have is placing high in the competitive modes. I haven't found any information or creators that put any stock in older units and that's quite unfortunate.
Tectone makes communities gatekeep, in Honkai 3rd the Arknights community kind of warned them abot kewktone and most of the community gatekeep him from it
I started PGR with the 1st Nier Collab in NA, kinda knew about the game but didn't choose to play until I saw more gameplay of it when the Nier collab was coming out... the other barrier of entry why I didn't try it sooner is that there was no PC version, but I got over the hurdles with the Collab... got it on an Android emulator & on my iPhone... and have not looked back since then, really like the high octane flashy gameplay that I miss at times with Genshin as a live service gacha game, and seems to be more satisfiable in the difficulty/challenge aspect than Genshin (outside of Abyss) to some reasonable levels to outrages end game levels (but not as outrageous as Genshin's Abyss feels in some cycles that feel very P2W/Current New Character release viability heavy at times, even PGR's Norman doesn't feel like this if you work hard long enough)... that has been keeping me happy and entertained. But I will say though, unlike Genshin where in most of the content outside of Abyss... you can clear in the most aloof way with starting characters with the most random of artifacts... Genshin suffers both extremes, where it's way too easy most of the time, and the times that it's hard... IT'S WAYYYYYY too hard to get all the rewards... but with PGR, a lot of the events and modes require some level of optimization that keeps you on your toes as the clock is ticking and they drop more events that require you to grind and optimize your teams as much as you can, also really emphasizes on Synergy and Mono teams of a particular element or physical damage which you tend to gravitate, depending on the element, on just a few characters... Punishing can be rather "Punishing" (pun intended as all hell lol!) if you don't start building for end-game, because every event or patch starts leaning on End Game type difficulty for half of the rewards... so in that regard it can be somewhat rough to play ignorantly for too long without starting to build a structure, also Memories don't have the versatility of Artifacts... some Memories are just the only build for that character because anything else is extremely sub-optimized... the game is really easy to get characters going and their memories, but you have less freedom to choose from in terms of Genshin's viability... on the flip side Genshin's hardest content tends to require you to be too optimized or have specific characters and the rolling artifacts in Genshin is way more cancerous... in PGR in its limitation it's also its strength in the way that memories are more simplified, and you get to move from character to character much easier and faster. I believe in-game too... you can see what people's pick for memories is for any specific character under the character's profile under recommended builds, so even the game helps you figuring out things without opening a video build guide or a wiki. As for the 5* weapons, this will be towards the owner of the channel & beginners, this will be a very TL;DR... the reason why you shouldn't use (or rather work on/don't waste your resources on) 4 star or less weapons is because you can get the 5* easily through some of the permanent modes' rewards, especially now with F.O.S., and if you take any time to look at any guide... most of the guides will probably tell you to do your Weekly co-op bosses 21 times (21 scavenges) so you get your 150 5* weapon shards a week... and in 3 weeks you'll have a guaranteed 5* weapon from the shop that cost 450 5* weapon shards, of your choice for whatever character needs it most in your account. Also not to mention that you have a certain low percent of getting a whole 5* weapon as a reward every run on Co-Op boss... and I believe the difficulty doesn't matter, the rate I believe is the same on every difficulty for 5* weapon drops... so it's a good way to get them faster or get resonance dupes for them. High recommend for any new player trying to build their account.
Some pretty well known pgr fans I follow on twitter crap on anything that has to do with hoyo. That's kinda embarrassing to look at as a pgr player tbh.
Tired that I keep seeing his name in every Gacha game. To this point its exhausting and I hope that gacha game communities slowly start to faze him out and he does the opposite of what Mtashed does by going to destiny or some community where the community treats him like he treats other content creators that have the same influence that he does.
Yup, in the end it depends on one self skill, if you want to invest more then you can gacha their signature weapon or sSs max the characters. Using 4* or 5* weapon also enough to casually playing it, as long as it finish the challenge and get the black cards
Not really a Tectone fan, but doesn't hate him either. Just happened to play the same game as him, and watched few of his videos. In my opinion, it's that Tectone isn't "Toxic UA-camr who farms drama" it's more akin to "Tectone is a guy who has a big mouth and always so quick to make comments on stuff, which in return gets the hate from the other content creators who didn't like his take" kinda thing. Not sure about Summoner's War situation, but Arknights, Genshin and every other drama is, he not instigating the drama but just saying dumb stuff, and the others (especially the fanbase, yes, we are the problem) reacting waaaaay over the top. And now whenever a new or pre-existing gacha come out into the limelight, the content creators like to put his photo on and farm it for views, creating more unneccessary hate.
Explain the jinjinx situation then. If that's not an example of him instigating a situation then I don't know what is. I've also watched him since summoners war and as I can remember the situation was the game cost way too much money to be "accepted" as someone influential. No one in that game cares about the opinion of someone that isn't highly rated in the pvp or proven that they understand the impact of a new monster on the meta. Tectone is absolutely toxic to anyone he doesn't feel like doesn't share the same opinion as him and although I stopped keeping up with him after the zhongli drama in Genshin, unless he has grown he didn't show any concern that his audience was viciously attacking any content creator that he didn't agree with. The last video I watched of his he quite literally started it by calling the other content creators in Genshin dogshit.

But out of all the dramas, like what 1 or 2 are genuinely his fault, and the entire gacha fanbase paints this image of him going from game to game, instigating drama with all their content creators then leaving. More exposure and recognition brings in all kinds of people, and as we all know, its both a blessing and a curse. A double edged sword. But I think we can make good use of this double edge sword of ours if we just relax a bit and let them play. Banter and making fun of eachother is fine, just be sure not to drive them away. Hell, its why "skill issue" is such a meme in this community. The whole thing about tectone, I am aware that he doesn't have a great reputation but truth be told, he just speaks his mind out without a second thought to it. Like thats it, I don't think he is trying to be the most hated gacha gamer or anything like it. He has apologized about the whole rexelent thing and even rexelent himself told us to stop with it. So why people are so hung up on that is just beyond me. Besides, like my first thing said, I think that atm the more exposure there is, the better. Will they all be bangers? Absolutely not, but who cares, just enjoy the game and don't let elitist idiots ruin your fun.
To be honest, I'm not all that worried about PGR garnering that kind of playerbase... It's Wuthering Waves that I'm actually worried about, and I'm sure you can see why, with it being similar to Genshin and all. Unlike Wuthering Waves, PGR already has an established playerbase, most of the people who comes over to the game due to some very popular content creators are mostly Tourists that won't stick around for the long haul, they might play for a while sure, but they will ultimately go back to whatever game they're invested in. And keep in mind, I'm actually a brand new player to PGR, I started playing when the PC Client came out, so I'm not an invested veteran.
You're very on point, man. I am a newcomer to PGR because it finally saw PC client released. I am tremendously enjoying it. PGR should get as much coverage as possible. And the community should play a big role in it.

Yeah i agree.. people who didn't play or into genshin didn't know how big the community really is( last check 65 million concurrent players) thats why the toxic minority that people always saw on Twitter or other platforms even tho theyre only the minority are still too big if you compared them to other gacha game community so its not so hard no to find toxic people on genshin but they didnt know how majority of players are just chill didnt join toxic convo on Twitter and only just enjoying watching on the side... I've actually never met toxic people on coop and I'm a day 1 player.
Used to play PGR a little bit when it's released on mobile and kinda overwhelmed with the gameplay mechanics. Now that the PC client is out, I got back to playing it and I'm actually having a lot of fun with the PC setup!

I watched Tectone for a little bit while i was playing Genshin. Him and other content creators within the Genshin community, made me quit the game. Not cos they are bad, but the obsession with meta and getting highest damage, paired with need for crit artifacts... I got overwhelmed. I felt like a failure because i wasn't hitting that damage, or because i never pulled a character early, nor double character's. So I just ended up having a mental block thanks to creators and the toxic communities within the game community. I don't want popular content creators to bring toxic communities with them to PGR. However, the game does need some media coverage for sure. Im just gonna play my way, not panic over gatcha luck and enjoy myself with PGR. Also, I'll just only watch you. You don't give false hope and are honest about your views. So thank you and please don't change when you get crap loads of followers!

One of the worst take I had for PGR was how meta restricted it was and that players can't utilize certain Team comps etc etc and I've already experienced it in ToF and it just sucks that when there are way too much tier lists and guides to avoid certain combinations. I mean sure it was the same with most games but because PGR was also an Active Action Game too, not only you need to know what characters to get or build but you also need to master their gameplay somehow to be optimal. But I do believe games like a Gacha with Meta relevance should have balancing done to every single characters to make them at least viable even in the worst case scenarios. HSR did it very well and that is why everyone is enjoying the game even without 5stars.

Every community has toxic people. Genshin is only so well known because it's massive. I play multiple gacha games and every single one has some form of elitist players. Just ignore people like that and have fun with the game.
See the example is correct the problem is you're in directly talking about Tectone who is an extremely toxic individual and he has a proven track record for being extremely toxic just ask the Genshin people about how much misinformation Tectone spouted about pre-buff Zhongli or how he bullied two other Genshin content creators into quitting and Tectone also has beef with the Arknights Community. We are open to allowing people to try PGR but Tectone due to his sizable fan base is the type who will spew nonsense like building Alpha as a sub dps and because of the size of his fanbase they will take his word and before long other much better content creators like Rexlent will be bullied off because of either Tectone's attitude or his fanbase.
So why is Tectone so hated (besides for saying the truth about Genshin)? Generally speaking, his opinions are based on facts/logic; I don't remember much about the Arknights drama since I also quit that pretty early. I agree he shouldn't be skipping tutorials then complaining and also skipping story is a big no imo because besides the combat, the lore is what drew me in. PS. I see some people say "X game shouldn't be on mobile, it's more meant for consoles" and people taking it as toxic when that is literally the reason play I never played action gachas, I fat finger a LOT and it's very hard to see some shit on such a small screen.

The fact is that the game is only available in one language is also a hindrance for many players... Many of my friends do not play it because of this, we could in the Middle Ages and the time of SNES is over, the game should be available in other languages

If someone asks me for a good build for a unit I'm going to tell them a meta build, because good normally means strong/meta, if someone wants to play a unit or a team that's fun more so then meta then what's even the point in asking for a build in the first place?
Tectone and Mtashed wouldn’t make content on this game, the games your standard gatcha, genshin and hsr tailors to gatcha players and also casual players so they would produce higher viewer counts, this game will only generate try hard players which is a small amount, plus the voices aren’t dubbed you have to read it.
I feel like PGR is an acquired " taste " because the learning curve is kinda high. Many people want to jump in and play already, not to learn the shit that most of us had to learn for and dedicate the time for to hone.
The issue i have with Tectone is that in the past he was toxic with Rexlant calling him a SIMP for no reason on Twiter... like Rexlant didn't take it seriously and all but wasn't pleasant back then when i heard about that. I'm not a fan of Tectone and i think the PGR or WW community don't need him.

I came to PGR 2 weeks ago and am really enjoying the game combat and characters. But I feel this game is the worst meta dependent one. People keep telling me not to pull for this. Don't use that on a character... you even need meta teams to finish event content, which really sours my experience. I feel this game creates the meta slaves and the elitists by design.
Just do CO op I know it's really bad because of the lag but if you play the hardest difficulty you most likely will get a 5 star weapon every 2 week only from the mission drops not the shards

I played pgr a little on mobile when I saw the wurthering waves teaser and enjoyed it. I’m now playing again on pc and even though I haven’t interacted much with the community it seems pretty cool
Honestly I came from Genshin, tried to get in when Neir collab reran and just got bombared by everything and life and quit early. Now with PC client I've been really trying to give the game a real go. So far I'm enjoying it even with some skill issues I have. I'm more sound base instead of eyesight so I don't dodge perfectly but I try. Just takes practice. Besides... I need to get better for my girl Crimson Weave >.> She drew back to the game to give it another go.

getting recognition has all its pros and cons, for me PGR definitely deserves more recognition, but with that recognition often draws toxic people too. That's what been happening in a small scale within PGR community and i dont like it at all. Why cant people just dont be an asshole
with popularity and success comes toxicity. look at the communities and fanbases of all the most popular anime and video games, all of them have extremely toxic sides. Prime examples of this are the One Piece fanbase and the Genshin Impact fanbase.

I personally wouldn't worry much for PGR... By the looks of it, these people are mostly just tourists that won't stick around for the long haul, a similar thing happened with Final Fantasy XIV back in 2021, a ton of World of Warcraft "refugees" came over to the game to try it out and most of them did not stick around.
Wuthering Waves on the other hand... Is actually the one being a risk of garnering that kind of shitty playerbase, mostly because a ton of Genshin players and content creators are gonna try to make the jump over to it, and I'm sure we all know how utterly toxic the Genshin fandom is...

i am not a elitist player but i STRONGLY advise people to not stray much from the meta because of the unforgiving nature of the game, i dont chase people or "witch hunt" them just dont come whining or complaining because you cant do certain event or gamemode with your only waifu or husbando team with a build that dont make sense, Deep Blue Warzone (Selena Tempest summer skin event) is a good example of this for me.
I will always have open arms for newbies and returning players and try my best to help them but if they refuse the help because it doesn't align with their waifu metality i will not waste energy

@@nightstar475 Not really... Veritas needs 15k bc to get in the gacha plus her pet, she suffers from the same issues as Alpha by not being decent at keeping sustainable damage, her burst may be strong but it's complicated to trigger and wastes time like in Warzone.
Not only that, considering she'll be overtaken by Crimson Weaver, getting her now feels a little like a waste per say, both for the Selector and gacha. Idk what's more expensive for you, but for me 15k blackcards is definitely more expensive than a few materials.
I got that skin with my husbando team, also reaching lvl 700 in the current babel without the current meta characters, in the end, it also depends on the player skill itself
I'm never against new players trying out pgr or any gacha and even if the toxic side of the genshin community comes to pgr, I don't think if we really need to worry about most of them staying for long for several reasons.
Don't even expect genshin impact players to last in pgr they don't know how to dodge simply because they're accustom to shields in genshin and gonna complain how hard the game is to clear.

If you're a new player, don't even bother getting the main weapons. Save your black cards for 100% rate up banners. 4-5 star weapons is enough. You should focus first on min-maxing omns. I suggest that you build 1 omn that you like for each element first, and then build a team around them. It'll help you to easily clear Warzone and Pain Cage.

Me too, I got sooooo mad... until I realized I was like him. My first time playing pgr I didn't care about anything I just pressed buttons and watched the pretty lights. My main team consisted of one fire dps, one ice tank and Vera as My main healer. My stats where shit, I couldn't broke through the 4000 BP cap even at lvl 82 of my account. I sucked a$s
tbh, i always thought the tutorials in pgr are way too 'intrusive', like youre forced to press the button celica is telling you to press or else you cant proceed. I wish the tutorials could be more lax, just give the player a heads up they unlocked something and just let the player explore the system on their own.

Reading is important in this game tbh. What triggers the players is watching streamers skip simple tutorial. I mean, ive seen kektone vid. The "Hold evade button" right in front of him hes still like "Dafuq should i do?!".

Well, good example is babel tower. All those texts on environment and risks levels.
Even norman war has those on subskills passive. Unit's skill, need to read those so you know how to trigger it especially the core passives. And other challenge missions that needs a lot of understanding of the mechanics(i forgot the name of mode where you hire 1 of 3 charas per roll, and the entire members has bonus depends on the members).
So in a PGR group, when someone asks for some stupid advice. Most of the time i just say "read". But often, i say "This aint competetive game, play the game how you want.".

After seeing 10 gacha games shut down just this week i really dont care who plays the game anymore. More exposure is always better. I invested in this game so much (both money and time)if it would shot down as well i would literally have a heart attack.
Dont worry, we will be fine. The minimum amount of time GLB version gets will be after 21 patch as there is just so much hype shit coming. Kuro also isnt co produced or anything like a lot those games, that were developed by other companies and then distributed through Crunchyroll games. Kuro needs PGR global to keep funding them in order to realize their dream of Wuthering Waves being a big contender.

The thing i hate about most games especially when its newly released is that people will tend to watch tutorial on how you should start and tips for making a team for early games.
Early game tips like how to manage resources aside, watching that kind of video without prior knowledge of the game, for me ruins the "new player experience". I'll watch those stuff when I'm kinda in the midgame lvl.
Those new players that watched Meta related videos, like tier lists and stuffs and follows it will play around that instead of learning from experience. I know having a strong character from the get go is good and all but you're missing at least like most of the stuff you're supposed to be doing especially those competitive ones.
sorry about my rambling, I just wanted to vent this because of someone from a discord server I know is really reliant of tier list and guide videos before he actually play the game...
Thankfully Kuro pays attention to other kind of creators that have actual and useful feedback to improve the game and the community is way less prone to elitism (as is really F2P friendly) and the only meta is get good... As Rexlent proved, you don't even need ranked gear if you have skill.
Main problem with pgr, it has Honkai level of animations only in CN servers and also first chapters of pgr are really boring. On top of that majority of genshin and honkai players simply cant read, they ignore mechanics of the game completely and starrs shit talking for no reason
I never against to any new PGR players or new content creators from genshin community. It was the opposite I was happy that PGR getting more recognition.
My only problem if some idiots, play PGR and they got some SKILL ISSUES and too dem lazy to read skills description, then blamed the game for some stupid reasons, or even worse blame the community who tried to help them for pointing out their mistakes.
Some also quit the games and blame the community for not letting them play however they want.

I recently got back into the game after taking a break from it ever since the NieR: Automata collab event came out. That's when I tried the game for the first time because I loved those characters. I didn't know what I was doing back then, and I still don't know what I'm doing today. Just kinda doing whatever that gives one-time rewards. I've been sticking with using A2 and 9S with Nanami. It's probably not the best thing to do but I love the characters and I've been doing well in combat with them. It's sad to see people gate-keeping. I watch Tectone but I don't behave like he does. I'm kinda scared to interact with the PGR community and I'm just gonna play however I want while figuring stuff out.

I introduced my friends to pgr and all I told them was play with anyone you like until you hit a difficulty wall then we can make team comps. They just play because it's cool and I'm all for that
Been trying out PGR recently, I don’t think I’ll like Wuthering much as I don’t like Genshin much because personally I don’t get on with open world games all that much. I think PGR is good but it takes a lot of time and pushing to get into it. Because let’s be honest early game for most games aren’t the most amazing. Recently I got to PGR endgame, just got Bianca Veritas and was already trying for Garnet, I’ll see if I’ll get her. If I can I’ll just build a team around Garnet, Veritas and Luminance, not a big fan of following the “meta” because games are meant to be fun and not meant to be forced into play styles you don’t want to run. Personally I’m glad I gave PGR a chance after coming from HI3rd.

This is the first time I hear about this. From my experience the pgr community is pretty chill. The Honkai community is the one full of elitists that are hostile to the Genshin and Star Rail fans and occasionally pgr from what I know.

Sorry to hear about that, since as far as I know, while a somewhat elitist about the gameplay, the community overal is pretty chill and decent about a lot of things (Its not darksouls level, so thats a start I guess). The only part I can explain is the hostility towards the genshin community though. When ign has released some gameplay footage before the beta of Wuthering Waves came out (So several months ago now). A lot of people from the genshin community instantly started to call it a genshin clone, that it was trash and not worth the time for anyone and also started badmouthing PGR for a bit (don't entirely remember it though). You probably got caught in the crossfire, which, again, sorry to hear.
Edit: oh right, and genshin content creators calling wuthing waves a genshin killer, even though, no one else said it that way.

Haha, I thought this video was going to take a much different direction. This video seems to express some very grounded concerns and I want watch more of these videos. I just picked up PGR a few weeks ago, having never heard of it before; some Star Rail content creators have covered WW with the excitement of how great the combat is going to be among other things.
PGR is more challenging than most Gacha and its sorely needed. The new player experience is rather overwhelming, but you can tell a lot of QoL and passion has been put in the game. I'm blow away from character design and how generous the gacha can be.
The most frustrating part so far is how hard the meta is pushed. I'm not sure about others, but for myself following meta can be incredibly boring. From my understanding a good number of characters that aren't the meta now used to be the top performers. It looks like all the characters are good and can clear all of the content if invested in and/or the player is skilled. I could be a little off, but the edge Meta teams have is placing high in the competitive modes.
I haven't found any information or creators that put any stock in older units and that's quite unfortunate.
The more people know about PGR the more some of them will try to find a way to ruin it for the majority
You can 100% get all the 5 star weapons by doing coop
Tectone makes communities gatekeep, in Honkai 3rd the Arknights community kind of warned them abot kewktone and most of the community gatekeep him from it
as a new PGR and PC player I immediately fell in love with this game 😊
I started PGR with the 1st Nier Collab in NA, kinda knew about the game but didn't choose to play until I saw more gameplay of it when the Nier collab was coming out... the other barrier of entry why I didn't try it sooner is that there was no PC version, but I got over the hurdles with the Collab... got it on an Android emulator & on my iPhone... and have not looked back since then, really like the high octane flashy gameplay that I miss at times with Genshin as a live service gacha game, and seems to be more satisfiable in the difficulty/challenge aspect than Genshin (outside of Abyss) to some reasonable levels to outrages end game levels (but not as outrageous as Genshin's Abyss feels in some cycles that feel very P2W/Current New Character release viability heavy at times, even PGR's Norman doesn't feel like this if you work hard long enough)... that has been keeping me happy and entertained.
But I will say though, unlike Genshin where in most of the content outside of Abyss... you can clear in the most aloof way with starting characters with the most random of artifacts... Genshin suffers both extremes, where it's way too easy most of the time, and the times that it's hard... IT'S WAYYYYYY too hard to get all the rewards... but with PGR, a lot of the events and modes require some level of optimization that keeps you on your toes as the clock is ticking and they drop more events that require you to grind and optimize your teams as much as you can, also really emphasizes on Synergy and Mono teams of a particular element or physical damage which you tend to gravitate, depending on the element, on just a few characters... Punishing can be rather "Punishing" (pun intended as all hell lol!) if you don't start building for end-game, because every event or patch starts leaning on End Game type difficulty for half of the rewards... so in that regard it can be somewhat rough to play ignorantly for too long without starting to build a structure, also Memories don't have the versatility of Artifacts... some Memories are just the only build for that character because anything else is extremely sub-optimized... the game is really easy to get characters going and their memories, but you have less freedom to choose from in terms of Genshin's viability... on the flip side Genshin's hardest content tends to require you to be too optimized or have specific characters and the rolling artifacts in Genshin is way more cancerous... in PGR in its limitation it's also its strength in the way that memories are more simplified, and you get to move from character to character much easier and faster. I believe in-game too... you can see what people's pick for memories is for any specific character under the character's profile under recommended builds, so even the game helps you figuring out things without opening a video build guide or a wiki.
As for the 5* weapons, this will be towards the owner of the channel & beginners, this will be a very TL;DR... the reason why you shouldn't use (or rather work on/don't waste your resources on) 4 star or less weapons is because you can get the 5* easily through some of the permanent modes' rewards, especially now with F.O.S., and if you take any time to look at any guide... most of the guides will probably tell you to do your Weekly co-op bosses 21 times (21 scavenges) so you get your 150 5* weapon shards a week... and in 3 weeks you'll have a guaranteed 5* weapon from the shop that cost 450 5* weapon shards, of your choice for whatever character needs it most in your account. Also not to mention that you have a certain low percent of getting a whole 5* weapon as a reward every run on Co-Op boss... and I believe the difficulty doesn't matter, the rate I believe is the same on every difficulty for 5* weapon drops... so it's a good way to get them faster or get resonance dupes for them. High recommend for any new player trying to build their account.
Some pretty well known pgr fans I follow on twitter crap on anything that has to do with hoyo. That's kinda embarrassing to look at as a pgr player tbh.
Tired that I keep seeing his name in every Gacha game. To this point its exhausting and I hope that gacha game communities slowly start to faze him out and he does the opposite of what Mtashed does by going to destiny or some community where the community treats him like he treats other content creators that have the same influence that he does.

Yup, in the end it depends on one self skill, if you want to invest more then you can gacha their signature weapon or sSs max the characters. Using 4* or 5* weapon also enough to casually playing it, as long as it finish the challenge and get the black cards
Not really a Tectone fan, but doesn't hate him either. Just happened to play the same game as him, and watched few of his videos. In my opinion, it's that Tectone isn't "Toxic UA-camr who farms drama" it's more akin to "Tectone is a guy who has a big mouth and always so quick to make comments on stuff, which in return gets the hate from the other content creators who didn't like his take" kinda thing.
Not sure about Summoner's War situation, but Arknights, Genshin and every other drama is, he not instigating the drama but just saying dumb stuff, and the others (especially the fanbase, yes, we are the problem) reacting waaaaay over the top. And now whenever a new or pre-existing gacha come out into the limelight, the content creators like to put his photo on and farm it for views, creating more unneccessary hate.
Explain the jinjinx situation then. If that's not an example of him instigating a situation then I don't know what is. I've also watched him since summoners war and as I can remember the situation was the game cost way too much money to be "accepted" as someone influential. No one in that game cares about the opinion of someone that isn't highly rated in the pvp or proven that they understand the impact of a new monster on the meta.
Tectone is absolutely toxic to anyone he doesn't feel like doesn't share the same opinion as him and although I stopped keeping up with him after the zhongli drama in Genshin, unless he has grown he didn't show any concern that his audience was viciously attacking any content creator that he didn't agree with.
The last video I watched of his he quite literally started it by calling the other content creators in Genshin dogshit.

But out of all the dramas, like what 1 or 2 are genuinely his fault, and the entire gacha fanbase paints this image of him going from game to game, instigating drama with all their content creators then leaving. More exposure and recognition brings in all kinds of people, and as we all know, its both a blessing and a curse. A double edged sword. But I think we can make good use of this double edge sword of ours if we just relax a bit and let them play. Banter and making fun of eachother is fine, just be sure not to drive them away. Hell, its why "skill issue" is such a meme in this community.
The whole thing about tectone, I am aware that he doesn't have a great reputation but truth be told, he just speaks his mind out without a second thought to it. Like thats it, I don't think he is trying to be the most hated gacha gamer or anything like it. He has apologized about the whole rexelent thing and even rexelent himself told us to stop with it. So why people are so hung up on that is just beyond me. Besides, like my first thing said, I think that atm the more exposure there is, the better. Will they all be bangers? Absolutely not, but who cares, just enjoy the game and don't let elitist idiots ruin your fun.

To be honest, I'm not all that worried about PGR garnering that kind of playerbase... It's Wuthering Waves that I'm actually worried about, and I'm sure you can see why, with it being similar to Genshin and all.
Unlike Wuthering Waves, PGR already has an established playerbase, most of the people who comes over to the game due to some very popular content creators are mostly Tourists that won't stick around for the long haul, they might play for a while sure, but they will ultimately go back to whatever game they're invested in.
And keep in mind, I'm actually a brand new player to PGR, I started playing when the PC Client came out, so I'm not an invested veteran.
You're very on point, man. I am a newcomer to PGR because it finally saw PC client released. I am tremendously enjoying it. PGR should get as much coverage as possible. And the community should play a big role in it.
Plus if you like PGR, You'll Like Honkai impact 3rd as well, both games are Very reward friendly with Anniversaries and big Events...ITS AMAZING 👍👍👍👍

Yeah i agree.. people who didn't play or into genshin didn't know how big the community really is( last check 65 million concurrent players) thats why the toxic minority that people always saw on Twitter or other platforms even tho theyre only the minority are still too big if you compared them to other gacha game community so its not so hard no to find toxic people on genshin but they didnt know how majority of players are just chill didnt join toxic convo on Twitter and only just enjoying watching on the side... I've actually never met toxic people on coop and I'm a day 1 player.
Used to play PGR a little bit when it's released on mobile and kinda overwhelmed with the gameplay mechanics.
Now that the PC client is out, I got back to playing it and I'm actually having a lot of fun with the PC setup!

Honestly want more Genshin players to play PGR so they can see what quality actually is. Hoyoverse as a whole is kind of just big corpo gross to me. No other way to out it. I watched Tectone for a little bit while i was playing Genshin. Him and other content creators within the Genshin community, made me quit the game.
Not cos they are bad, but the obsession with meta and getting highest damage, paired with need for crit artifacts... I got overwhelmed. I felt like a failure because i wasn't hitting that damage, or because i never pulled a character early, nor double character's.
So I just ended up having a mental block thanks to creators and the toxic communities within the game community.
I don't want popular content creators to bring toxic communities with them to PGR. However, the game does need some media coverage for sure.
Im just gonna play my way, not panic over gatcha luck and enjoy myself with PGR.
Also, I'll just only watch you. You don't give false hope and are honest about your views.

One of the worst take I had for PGR was how meta restricted it was and that players can't utilize certain Team comps etc etc and I've already experienced it in ToF and it just sucks that when there are way too much tier lists and guides to avoid certain combinations. I mean sure it was the same with most games but because PGR was also an Active Action Game too, not only you need to know what characters to get or build but you also need to master their gameplay somehow to be optimal. But I do believe games like a Gacha with Meta relevance should have balancing done to every single characters to make them at least viable even in the worst case scenarios. HSR did it very well and that is why everyone is enjoying the game even without 5stars.

Every community has toxic people. Genshin is only so well known because it's massive. I play multiple gacha games and every single one has some form of elitist players. Just ignore people like that and have fun with the game.

See the example is correct the problem is you're in directly talking about Tectone who is an extremely toxic individual and he has a proven track record for being extremely toxic just ask the Genshin people about how much misinformation Tectone spouted about pre-buff Zhongli or how he bullied two other Genshin content creators into quitting and Tectone also has beef with the Arknights Community.
We are open to allowing people to try PGR but Tectone due to his sizable fan base is the type who will spew nonsense like building Alpha as a sub dps and because of the size of his fanbase they will take his word and before long other much better content creators like Rexlent will be bullied off because of either Tectone's attitude or his fanbase.
So why is Tectone so hated (besides for saying the truth about Genshin)? Generally speaking, his opinions are based on facts/logic; I don't remember much about the Arknights drama since I also quit that pretty early. I agree he shouldn't be skipping tutorials then complaining and also skipping story is a big no imo because besides the combat, the lore is what drew me in.
PS. I see some people say "X game shouldn't be on mobile, it's more meant for consoles" and people taking it as toxic when that is literally the reason play I never played action gachas, I fat finger a LOT and it's very hard to see some shit on such a small screen.

The fact is that the game is only available in one language is also a hindrance for many players... Many of my friends do not play it because of this, we could in the Middle Ages and the time of SNES is over, the game should be available in other languages

Tectone and Mtashed wouldn’t make content on this game, the games your standard gatcha, genshin and hsr tailors to gatcha players and also casual players so they would produce higher viewer counts, this game will only generate try hard players which is a small amount, plus the voices aren’t dubbed you have to read it.
I feel like PGR is an acquired " taste " because the learning curve is kinda high. Many people want to jump in and play already, not to learn the shit that most of us had to learn for and dedicate the time for to hone.

The issue i have with Tectone is that in the past he was toxic with Rexlant calling him a SIMP for no reason on Twiter... like Rexlant didn't take it seriously and all but wasn't pleasant back then when i heard about that.
I'm not a fan of Tectone and i think the PGR or WW community don't need him.

I came to PGR 2 weeks ago and am really enjoying the game combat and characters. But I feel this game is the worst meta dependent one. People keep telling me not to pull for this. Don't use that on a character... you even need meta teams to finish event content, which really sours my experience. I feel this game creates the meta slaves and the elitists by design.

I played pgr a little on mobile when I saw the wurthering waves teaser and enjoyed it. I’m now playing again on pc and even though I haven’t interacted much with the community it seems pretty cool
Honestly I came from Genshin, tried to get in when Neir collab reran and just got bombared by everything and life and quit early. Now with PC client I've been really trying to give the game a real go. So far I'm enjoying it even with some skill issues I have. I'm more sound base instead of eyesight so I don't dodge perfectly but I try. Just takes practice. Besides... I need to get better for my girl Crimson Weave >.> She drew back to the game to give it another go.
