I was turned on to a bootleg of In the Name of Suffering french label release early on and was an instant fan but Take as Needed for Pain came out and smoked my head! It was a cassette so my best friend played it backwards where I heard take as needed first and blown away is an understatement.it was the first time I heard how music could be as heavy and heavier than death metal. I seen them live in 96 with Neurosis and they cemented themselves as my favorite band( even though Neurosis was doing through silver in blood and are just the greatest live band experience ive ever had, EHG being 2nd)ive seen EHG 7x total now and im going to see them in November again..this will be my first time with no Brian and 2nd with Aaron on the kit.
The only thing I don not like about Eyehategod's good live videos is the really long duration of feedback in the beginning. Unfortunately, I do not have a fast internet connection.
The feedback is the Bat Signal of sludge.. It tells all the real motherfuckers to put the joints etc out and get back in the building before shit gets really real.. Its part of the ritual that is a live EHG experience. I would be sooo pissed if my 8th time seeing them live, they came out and just started playing songs without that. Would truly ruin the whole set for me as crazy as tht might sound to some.
U think Aerosmith is rock n rolls be all , end all right? These dudes are the heaviest band you would ever experience live.. Id hate to hear your taste in music for real
@@danielwilson9724 , since writing this 11 years ago, I no longer comment on songs/bands I don't like. It's stupid. Well, I may bust on Motley Crue. For the record, I can't stand post 70's Aerosmith. I bet you'd liked at least some of the music I listen to. Fort instance, today, I played some Enslaved, Wheel, Borknagar, and Dark Tranquility. Finally, I re-listened to this and I'm sorry, the distortion, feedback and the vocals just don't do it for me. Cheers. si
@@niwdoog nobody with any knowledge of music should be able to stand post 70s Aerosmith. And yes I enjoy Enslaved quite a bit. You're into the blacker side of music and thts cool, I like alot of black metal as well like " Aske" era Burzum, Satyricon, Dark Throne, Mayhem, Thorns, Judas Iscariot etc..
love how the crowd gets happy when they strum one chord inbetween the feedback
One of the best live underground bands still kicking ass & still touring..GOD BLESS EHG
I fucking love this band. They are the best band ever PERIOD
R.I.P. Joey. I hope you now you are in a better place, smocking a joint and drinking bourbon with John Bonham
Yes. I'd say everything with hardcore Punk influences goes well with feedback. Sludge, Crust, Grindcore.
exactly what i experienced in Oakland Friday night. Pure angst release.... feels soo good.
EYEHATEGOD
Sludge without feedback is useless, anyway,
EHG don't like sludge.
yeah, I hate when I show people live EHG videos and they just think it's terrible because they don't get the point of the feedback.
EHG is an acquired taste. Once you get it you love em, before you get it you hear noise.
@@handlethis_ffs most definitely, it took me a solid month before I was able to really listen to them consistently
@@handlethis_ffs first time I heard them I instantly fell in love with their sound.

Another Beyoncé, Boyz to men fan
I couldn't name a song by either, read the above replies.
Sludge and feedback go together.
