I had a dream last night that I was doing this exact same thing. I had never seen it, or ever even thought about it, but it felt intuitive and freeing, I couldn’t help but look it up after I woke up and I find this comment on the first video! Crazy!
Imagine if climbers who on near death on Mt Everest could ditch their heavy gear, less the oxygen and use these to get down. Probably a bumpy ride but better than death?

@@E620SE but what I meant if this was a standard to help them get down. I recently saw in a vid, some climbers trying to save a guy and they couldn't do anything, they just had to watch him perish.
You'd really have to know what you're doing so you don't end up landing in some rocky crevice miles away from everyone and it'd be more gear to carry but yeah it could work??? idk

I had a dream last night that I was doing this and it was absolutely intuitive and so fun. I had never seen or even thought of this until I literally did it in my sleep last night. I got up and typed in “para-skiing” and I was amazed to see that it was a real thing. Wow. It’s so crazy! I feel as though I have done this! If anyone has ever had this happen I’d love to hear about it.
Yeah, I had a dream six years ago that I saw a girl doing this down Mont Blanc. Just looked it up tonight and found it was a real thing too. Weird.

It's possible to learn to speedride in France! Don't try that on your own it could be dangerous!
You should be able to Ride and Fly precisely for safe runs, not to do such major mistake as he did in the video...Speed is your friend, so skiing with 80 kmh should be familiar for you to ride a smaller wing. With a bigger one like 14sqm with a diagonal harness you should be safe on little hills with long long runouts, avoid turning close to the ground first, but basic paragliding skills really needed first, to be able to fly a proper wing over, and an idea of landing. I learned it alone, but I`m sailing and skiing since I was 3, am instructor as well, flying a lot and freeriding a lot (more than 3 month a year). Methodical progress and basic principles help you to get there, but as it really needs complex skillset to be safe, regarding glider control, and weather analysis from paragliding, snowtechnikal knowledge and alpine safety, pro skiing in wariing snowconditionsand chosing your line from Skiing...I would suggest to anybody to go into a school learn paragliding, in the winter train your offpiste skills in skiing, and next year go to a Speedriding school, if you want to be safe.
Speedriding is not switching between flying and skiing, it`s a complex mixture of flying and skiing simultaneusly.

+Adam Gerrard Go take a look at ABS website, they can be attached to compatible backpacks.
They cost a bit, but they can save your life. I've seen a Salomon backpack which can be used with ABS airbags.

More likely it's done through sponsorship of athletes - not trust funds. If you want something bad enough you can always achieve it. You just have to commit 100% to doing it.
