When I was a teenager growing up in England, Kylie Minogue burst onto the scene with a number one album after starring in the Australian soap, Neighbours, which was huge at that time in the country.
She has been Pop royalty in the UK and many other countries ever since, even though people in America are less familiar with her. Over the years, I have always enjoyed several of her singles but last year she released an album, TENSION, that was really fantastic from start to finish.
It was amazing to watch her storm the worldwide charts last year with the fantastic pop song, Padam Padam, and the whole album is brilliantly produced fun, electro pop. The album came into my life at a time where I was just beginning to feel bursts of joy again after a long and often difficult year.
It became the soundtrack to that period of my life and one song really grabbed me - Hold On To Now. Something about the melody got under my skin and the message that all we can do is hold onto now. It coincided with a re-connection to love in my life and was one of those songs that just stayed with me.
So, Dan Burke and I set about creating a cover version of it many months ago, then we took it to Davor, and I gave Davor permission to do anything he wanted with it.
He definitely took this pop ballad and cranked up the dial near the end of the song (you will see!)
So it’s very different to our usual musical output, but I’m really grateful to get to cover a song from Kylie Minogue, who at age 55 is on fire with her creativity and her ripples out into the wider world. So inspiring to see someone have such a long career (almost 40 years) and still be hitting new peaks. Today is the day that Kylie is releasing the followup album to TENSION so this felt like a great day to release the cover.
We hope you enjoy HOLD ON TO NOW which is meant to be a little bit of fun and while it starts, gentle, hopefully by the end of the song, it may even get you up and dancing…

So…after 5 weeks of hospitalisation, 3 near death instances during these 5 weeks(septic, heart attack and internal bleeding) my 82 years old father as not said his last word! With his faith, my friend Liz’s energy work and myself (also energy work and just being his rock) he pulled through.💫
