- If you go down to the woods today you're in for a big surprise... And so are we! We're hitting the road with no Plan B for where we'll be staying, rolling the dice that there'll be room at the metaphorical inn. And for Val's sake, we hope it's only metaphorical bears in these woods too...
We don't crack under the pressure, but Dave does wonder if Val's double lunch order was a panic buy. We are however distracted enough by the beautiful bike-friendly scenery around Galloway Forest for all the fear to be worth it!
We go walk-heavy on this one as we explore not one but two castles, and count trees like grains of sand in miles of woodland. Tess enjoys the mud, and we enjoy playing 'Guess The Crop' and debating conker agriculture!
Wrapping up a few days well-spent, we top it all off with a delicious roast dinner and a little bit of the bubbly in the back of the van!
You'll see us cast doubt on Robert The Bruce, see Val express a very muddy desire, and even hear our lifetime red squirrel count!

What comes next? We'll be dipping our toes into the water at the Harbour Of Girvan as we head to the Ayrshire Coast.
