This was sorta rushed because I don't want to delay it till my finals lol For my next upload, I want to do something fun and silly after all the long, and serious vids lately (likely Ovenbreak again) There won't be much activity at least until December or next year :P Have a nice day, y'all :3
When you talked about the fact that pity doesn't carry, it actually does but it only carries if the amount of MLs are the same. For example if there is a banner that has all 4 MLs then the pity carries to the next banner that also contains 4 MLs. Other than that I absolutely agree with your other points I've been playing this game since the beta and I'm glad that the community isn't as toxic as other ones.
yea one thing i never liked about tot was the convoluted pity system (also 100 pity is too much imo for the amount of chips they give). one reason i quit playing after 2nd anniv was because i got sick of hitting hard pity almost every banner, combined with the fact that the pity carry over is so inconsistent
That's not entirely accurate. ToT has many banner types and remembering them all isn't too hard. Pity is only carried between banners of the same type except limited banners, which are the banners with 4SSRs. Limited banner pity never carries over to the next limited banner. For example, pity on the 1st anni banner doesn't carry over to 2nd anni's banner or Bakerlon's pity doesn't carry over to Enduring Light. 2SSR events and solo SSR events share the same pity while solo SSS banners carry pity to the next SSS banner. Feel free to ask if you have any questions. I tried to simplify it but what I said doesn't cover everything.
No, 4SSR banners carry pity only to it's own rerun. Not to the next 4SSR banner. It's 2SSR banners that carry over to the next 2SSR banners. Birthday banners are a bit more complicated. They continue to the next bday banner but 1st reruns have their own continuing pity count and 2nd reruns have their own
I wouldn't call it "forgotten", definitely unpopular but it's crazy how, as you just said, there's so much things to do. Out of all the gacha games I've played, Ive definitely cursed this game the most cuz.. I almost never get the cards I want. But the good thing is, the stuff to do are enough motivation to enjoy the game. Not to mention the amount of merch they have that are comparable to other hoyo games. All of the boys literally got their nendoroids released even before zhongli's pre-order period.
There's probably more merchandise because this game is unpopular and doesn't make as much sales as the other games do. The other games doesn't need much merchandise because they make tons of money.
As soon as I saw the thumbnail I had to watch. It's so rare to see Tears of Themis content so this is definitely a joy to see. The video is really well done and not too long. The brief summary for the game is well thought out and very interesting to watch. (^v^) b
The game resources in Tears of Themis is small compared to the other Hoyo games but their merch drops are insane in amount compared to the other games. Their recent collabs with other brand company (judydoll makeup, hornell beef jerky, duoduo lemon tea collab) also never fails. they keep on releasing them cause they know that the fandom will definitely buy them even if they just paste the mls faces on them
Yeah, the merch are definitely something else. There’s like perfume, soap and all sorts of stuff. Surprised they haven’t done like actual clothing lines XD
I'm definitely shocked this game is still alive. I haven't really seen much gameplay of it, but I'm guessing it's forgotten because it doesn't have the same 3D and general polish of any other Hoyo game. Overall I'm glad it's alive though since I understand it's a particular game for people who enjoy it (and not that it's bad, it just lacks overall wide appeal).
I think its just because this game seems to have 0 marketing Like for Real I played every other Hoyo game they have available at least for a bit and enjoyed content of it and I never got any ad, any video about ToT This video is litteraly first in my life I ve seen about it
omg crazy to see tot content in the 3 years of playing since its global cbt release 😭 i remember getting into this game when i saw hoyoverse had an otome game in china (plus the ace attorney elements) and freaked out when i saw it coming for global. i agree with the major events and i get so busy for that month, i missed finishing it and get all rewards LOL it is kind of sad to see the game not getting the same hype as others but honestly, i'm glad they still cater the story in the game and the events plus heck, they go crazy for the merchandise like the collab with judydoll for fans. my heart was so happy to get the mail about getting a physical letter for second anniversary and they prioritized the old players that are still playing :'D also winning giveaways has been so much fun since its the only time i get my hands on official hyv merch without spending haha this game has my heart so much since release i love seeing the relationship developments from meeting them at the start and now getting engaged. i could never see myself stop playing anytime soon TT edit: miscounted the years ^^;;
The game’s quality is certainly amazing and the story too. (P.s: I like that I actually have a high chance of winning merch in this small fandom lol. I actually did win)
I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a tot recommended video, it’s nice for the game to be talked about! I’ve been playing since release and it’s definitely one of my favorites. I’m f2p so it’s definitely annoying not getting all the cards I want but with card stories available online I don’t really mind
Probably one of the very few ToT content UA-cam Algorithm has recommended to me, and honestly, I'm not complaining, in fact this video actually tempted me to go revisit the game again. I forgot when I started playing, some time after its release maybe, and I stayed around for a while until my storage started dying on me :') the second time I dropped the game was due to how weak I was with the cards, typical me struggling to farm for gacha currency and not getting anything good, so it became quite a struggle for me to progress through the story without repeatedly dying and trying (and spending resources to level up my cards). But the game and story itself is quite good imo, no complaints from me regarding those. Maybe I'm just being dumb lmao, but eh, Imma gonna try pick up the game again :D (if you guys want to, I'm willing to accept a couple of friend requests). Ah yes, if y'all have some, I'd very much like some advices so when I return to the game, I don't end up using my resources irresponsibly and ended up regretting it later down the line :')
It is what it is. I’ve also suffered from the gacha :,). However I always firmly believe that the story’s pretty fun. Also, the recent update gave the option to delete card stories, animation resources so it’s much better :3
Did you know that in the TW (and probably definitely the CN) version of the game there's a redeem system for the Rotation banner similar to the limited banners when pulling? In which you can redeem past free SR event cards AND the current cards in the Rotation banner after gathering a certain amount of those from pulls from the rotation banner *and* the standard banner? (and I think like 5 normal tears?) I will always be perpetually salty that it wasn't added in the global version
This video is so underrated! I love how you analyzed and talked about the game, and I wish I discovered the game sooner. I love both the mystery aspect of the game and the romance, and this is my second hoyo game I spend a lil money on. The art, story, and characters are all super interesting to me, and it’s a nice break to play at the end of the day. And while I wish it was more popular, I am glad the community is small. I was genuinely surprised how non toxic the community was, and it’s refreshing coming from a genshin and hsr player.😅 (any ToT post I made on HoYoLAB always got super supportive, and chill comments. Idk how to describe it, but the community is just different, comforting even) its recent anniversary was what got me into the game after getting its promotion on HoYoLAB, and I am glad I got into it! And while it may have its flaws, and confusing pity system, I think I’ll continue playing it for a long time. ❤
I've been getting into tears of Themis lately (even though I'm probably aromantic lol, I just really like seeing their relationships evolve) and I imagine that part of the reason it isn't as big is because compared to other titles, the game just seems to naturally be *made* to have this smaller reach, seen in the language settings for example, I am Brazilian and learned English by myself during my childhood but I can't really recommend the game to my friends since they can't speak English which affects reach, I'm sure they would love the game but it was made to have a small dedicated audience and I'd say it succeeded at that
I agree. ToT did do a good job building up the relationships and establish the dynamics. The game doesn’t have a big cast so the individual characters’ depths are explored so much more. It’s really lovely :3
Great video, the beginning was really strong with that Vyn meme, amazing! The person who made it must have the best sense of comedy 😏 But in all seriousness, I love the points you made. Take it from someone who has seen small fandoms blow up and burn before, I wouldn't change our community for the world! ^^
My friend is a passionate Themis fan and finally convinced me to play. But I didn't really have time to read story at the moment. When I came, there was some event going on, and as a gacha veteran I have fomo ingrained in my bones. But the event was locked under the story progress, as well as almost all gameplay. So I decided to just skip the first chapters and read them later. I was really shocked when I realized how long they were! If you are into sroty reading it's great, but I was a newbie buried under tons of stamina I really wanted to spend, and it would take me weeks to carefully read all that. Finally I muddled through the story and unlocked gameplay, but by that time event already ended. Then that event with the train that was in the video started. I tried to play normally but it took so much time. I was really busy and just couldn't spend so much free time on the game. In the end I wanted the rewards so I started to use autoclicker to get through it. I did it for 2 days for a few hours, but wasn't even halfway done. In the end I broke (and my phone almost did too) and deleted the game. My friend is still upset because I didn't experience the game as it's supposed to be played... Now she would just retell me her favorite plots.
I play Tears of Themis. I've been playing for quite a while, since not long after it's English release. The story enticed me so did the mystery aspect, I'm also a diehard fan of otome games so it feels perfect. I always knew Tears of Themis was more money grabby than genshin, I watched it get progressivly worse. I've looked passed it cuz though being f2p was hard it wasn't impossible in the slightest, I also liked the story enough to push past never getting cards I want. I took such an extremely long break after this years anniversary event though, a very needed one. I pulled for one of the SSS cards not fully knowing how it worked an lost my 50/50 three flipping times. By the time I fully understood how they worked I had already spent soo much of my hard earned chips into it so I had to keep going. I was only able to pull 98 times, I didn't get my card and all 98 hard earned pulls were gone. This was right after I lost my 50/50 on Marius' birthday banner and had to reach 100 for my guarantee. I actually spent for the first time to reach that 100, I do art commissions to earn money in my free time as a broke student. I was saving for an IPad but I thought using just a little of my to get a 10pull wouldn't hurt when I reached 90. I thought about doing the same thing for the SSS but I didn't want me spending to become a habit. Plus if I kept doing it eventually it would spread to other games and my savings would vanish. It became quite exhausting to be f2p for a while, logging at least twice everyday to grind became exhausting. Those 98 pulls down the drain just hurt. I wouldn't have pulled for the SSS if I knew the mechanics behind it at all. I've taken a break since then. It's less losing a 50/50 but moreso how it feels like they don't care about us f2p's as an OG player. I've decided to stop worrying sm about getting the newest card or the guy I want(I've actually grown attached to all 4 after playing for soo long). I’ve been soo busy grinding that I actually fell behind in main story. I started playing again recently for Luke's birthday as he was the first dude I liked enough to pull on his banner(still don't have a single SSR of him though, have a love hate relationship with that fact) and still in my top 2 if I were to rank the guys. I want to have fun playing the game again and so far it has been really fun too
The only time Tears of Themis fandom was dragged into mess is because of that one post about Genshin upon Natlan released drama where they mentioned the games old event Secrets of the Tomb where it was mentioned that the mls outfits are sexualize/Egyptian culture being sexualized
Yeah… that’s what I was referring to in the vid. The most ridiculous part is that the guys are supposed to be Chinese and it’s an au. I’m not denying any criticism towards Hoyo and their questionable ethics but context matters.
nah that's crazy cuz wdym sexualise 😭 it's an otome game what do you expect (forgive my ignorance) but looking at ancient egyptian history it looks like there's nothing wrong with it
@@bananananana_200 i feel like tot and the word sexualize can never sit at one table lol it is hard to call something sexualizing when the story builds them with so much character and emotions
Out of all the Hoyoverse games, it’s currently the only one I play. I’ve played it for 3 years and dropped it for a while, but I picked it up again 2 months ago and haven’t stopped playing since- seriously. I’ve logged in EVERY DAY for that long. I love this game. I will do ANYTHING for my pookie Luke, he is my husband and I always forget his doomed story line tho…. And then I get depressed 😰 anyways--! Tears of Themis is PEAK!!!!! I love it sm!!!! 💖
I've been playing tot pretty much since the beginning thanks to a sponsor and I like it a lot! loved the video, I can tell you put a lot of passion into it! super looking forward to that character analysis video :D
YASS I SAW TEARS OF THEMIS AND I CLICK YAYY Edit: also the pity thing, personally I like it cause then I know I’m guaranteed to get my specific cards that I want/ I know the pity for the specific bannners :) ex: me pulling on 1 and sec B day and not getting both of them? No problemo my pity will stay the same until I’m ready to get both of them again :) that’s just my personal opinion
i played the game since its release but had to drop it after reaching level 35 bcus of the gacha system. i was 12 pulls away from nabbing luke's shape of you card but it ended and it got me messed up lol. 3 weeks ago i came back out of curiousity and managed to get the damn card through the return banner with the help of the additional s-chips* they give to you when you come back. safe to say that "return banner thing" healed me of 3 years of grief for not getting that damn ed sheeran card 😂
as someone who played otome games and even religiously played mystic messenger (at its peak), i can say that this game is really good. the art, the story, amazing. however, gameplay isn't for me, gacha is horrendous, and i just don't have the time for it anymore, let alone can't play it on my phone because for some reason it eats up my ram. i really want to enjoy this game 😢
I wish tot had cross overs in their other games, they could do it, they're doing the fantasy cards, so why not put those fantasy versions into hsr or smth, i think it's the most welcoming for the way the characters look and the way they tell stories, they could just make up some random isekai portal and there would be no issues, these people are about to shove in fate into hsr, come on, that could boost interest into tot and show players that it's a game that is not forgotten and is okay to start even today, also there has been moments where genshin lore is mentioned or shown in symbolism, very rarely.
Another thing I really like about TOT are the mini events and how varied they can be. Like the flip & match events, the slide puzzle events (although i HATED those), the sudoku events (which funfact, actually taught me HOW to play sudoku), the cooking trials events with tabby the cat (who had its entrance through another mini event a few years ago where the cleaning robot goes missing!), and most recently the added number tile sliding events I also remember 3 years ago there was a halloween event where you harvest pumpkins! There’s a lot of types of games you can play through the mini events and the badges that come with some of them are also very fun to collect. I dont see too many people who talk about them though so I thought I’d leave this appreciation comment for them here
I don’t think Tears of themis is forgotten at all.. it still has a pretty big following, just not as big as the other hoyo games. The actual forgotten hoyo games are GGZ.. though I guess we’re talking about games that are still in service globally
Well, it’s just my POV. Whenever ppl talk about multiple Hoyo games, they mostly talk about games in the Honkai universe and ToT definitely isn’t part of that
@@mirratheartist Well yeah, because most MiHoYo games are action RPGs. Tears of Themis is a completely different genre and targets a very specific audience that's quite separate from all their other games. Of course people who mainly play action RPGs are likely not going to be familiar with an otome game. This doesn't mean Tears of Themis is "forgotten." If you ask otome game fans, Tears of Themis is very popular and it's one of the most prominent CN otome mobile gacha games. I've seen many who play Tears of Themis but have never touched Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, or any other MiHoYo game.
If you could see me right now, you'd see me standing up and clapping!!! lmao This video is incredible and the editing is also very very good. I loved it from beginning to end. You really did a great job
To be honest i forgot about Tears of Themis that technically Luke is dead in my gameplay (cause I didnt play that far into the chapter for it to be revealed if he died or not).
Hello~! I quite like your video analysing Tears of Themis as a game as a whole, which is quite interesting to see why it's not as popular as other Hoyo games. However, because we are a small community of fans, we actually have a pretty chill and mostly wholesome fanbase of players (no shade, but Genshin & HSR's fanbases have no chill, esp on Twitter/X tbh), which is quite a nice break from the drama over different games. ✨ It may not be as polished, 3D, fantasy, action as Genshin and HSR are, but it still has a very good story with well developed character designs. Rosa is a very good main character, not just a typical otome self-insert, she does have her own personality, wits and smarts around her, which helps her relationship with the boys. I love both the mystery aspect of the game and the romance! 🩷 I'm glad it's actually still alive even though it's an otome game which is still quite a niche genre and does not attract as much players. ✨ The only thing I'll complain about is that Hoyo has to stop traumatising the best boy, my puppy boi Luke Pearce, I want to see him live! 😭🥰
Im a die hard Vyn fan and while I did stop playing a year ago, Im so glad there's enough traction in the game for this video to be a thing. I ADORE the gameplay of ToT so much and I love that they made Rosa her own thing while being a self-insert. There's so much thought put into the game and tbh after watching, despite the flaws I found with it, I really want to pick it up again!
Honestly, the characters have so much depth and I love them too death 😖. So many times now, I’ve had to remind myself that they aren’t real and it actually makes me feel a bit empty inside :( I’d totally date any one of them off they were real, even Rosa. But like, I’d say I’m too much of a girl failure for the queen herself 😞
Well, I don’t think many Hoyo players would be the same. I did a survey once and about the same amount of people played other games Hoyo games before ToT was the same as the amount of those who didn’t. So, I’d say when listing Hoyo games, most wouldn’t be likely to know about ToT
I have a love hate relationship with this game, I enjoy the story, characters, and art but the pity system is so fricking stupid and at a certain point, there's not much to do. Also I'm kinda dumb but once I didn't realize they were giving free daily pulls and I missed like 5 free pulls ☠️ Edit: I just saw you say there's too much to do and when you mentioned the wiggle room I AGREE SO BAD. I wish they would just accumulate tries or whatever for events instead of you needing to log in everyday. It's weird there's a simultaneous lack/too much to do but I think it depends on the player and how far they are into the game Edit: Hi, edit again. And you're also so right at the end - I still enjoy the game and think of it fondly even if it has some stuff I don't enjoy. The main thing is because it has a smaller cast, it feels like you can spend more time with your favs and have more emotional moments, which has been a hit or miss for me in Genshin
Tears of Themis content 🎉. I'll be waiting (im)patiently for the characters analysis bc I love those kinds of content. But regarding the standard SSR in event banner, I wouldn't say you lose if you get standard SSR, because the pity doesn't reset. I would just say I get something extra when pulling for the event banner. The only time you might lose on a banner is when there's 2MLs card running in the same event banner, which means 50/50 chance. You still get the limited event card, but it might or might not be the ML of your choice. I don't remember if there's a guarantee bc I haven't pulled on those banner. And also rotation banner where the rate up is 2 MLs cards will be SSR (one of them is likely to be an event card and another a standard card) and the other 2 will be SR. When hitting pity for SSR, you will get one of the featured SSR, but it depends whether you want the specific card instead of the other one if you feel like you are losing or winning on that banner.
The banners are waaay too complicated imo. I just assume that when you invest a bunch into a banner, you’d want a featured card or just a specific one usually. So most of the time, if you get another card, it could be considered a loss 😅 You might have to wait for a while because I haven’t even read every card story yet 🥲
@@mirratheartist I also don't know all the details for the banner but I'm sure you'll get a good grasp on it. Just don't spend any tears or schips on permanent banner and know your risk when pulling for 2 feature SSR banners and you're good to go. There's also SSS and some other banners but you'll see them later. Explaining it in the comment section might make it more confusing. I'm just happy to see a content for ToT. The community is small but we're just chilling and simping 😆
ohh Tears of Themis video, on youtube? Absolutely everyone talking about Hoyo games never mentions even ToT. I played until recently actively, it was my emotional helper and just such a good game with a fun community.
Figure out it would be Themis, because what else would it be, since Honkai 2/GGZ is still living in some countries for some reason. And what do you think so the game would become as popular as Love and Deepspace right now?
I doubt the game could be as big. Although LaDs revenue figures have shown that otome games can be extremely successful, they’re also innovative in the genre, being a 3D game and all. One appeal I’ve found in ToT has always been the community. I’ve seen how bad big fandoms could be from both inside and outside, so I doubt it’s ideal
@mirratheartist I wonder what could hoyo do to improve themis so it could give more revenue compared to what it is now. The art looks so great already, and I wish the mystery solving stuff could also make it to the other hoyo games, maybe as an exploration gameplay to games like hsr or genshin.
I'm so happy someone is talking about this game!! And I feel u, as a Luke enjoyer I only roll when his banners come out, so I save my pulls until then. BUT STILL 5star standard cards ruin my motivation! Because, why do I need to make effort in saving in each event when it's not garanteed and I can receive the same Vyn card each time!!! 😭😭 (Not hate on Vyn but his standard card comes so much lol)
I don't play ToT but I got recommended this vid, and I have to say for all the downsides you mentioned, none of them are specific to ToT but is rather how the joshimuke game industry runs as a whole. Short gacha/event times for the FOMO, stupid pity systems (I've played games where your pity resets for every single banner so Nothing carries over), and just all round predatory behavior is just. run of the mill in joshimuke games at this point. I think a comparison with Hoyo games is inevitable considering their shared developer but a comparison against other games with the same genre would really put this into perspective much better. Great video though!
honestly for my tip as a f2p in this game for 3 years now, DONT EVER SPEND MORE THAN 30-40 pulls on a banner unless u rlly want the card or you’ll emd up wasting it and not seeing that pity for a long time
you mentioned not leaving the video thinking the game is bad, but honestly, this video really made me want to play it! i'm an avid otome fan, and the only reason i haven't played is because of some card designs that are in...poor taste (but honestly, that comes with all hoyo games at all points, haha, natlan...) i definitely see myself trying this in the future!!! this was a great video
Clocking in here as a 1 Year old Player to the game. There *is* an advantage when it comes to farming S-chips & Tears (That's if HYV doesn't go guns blazing at certain ML girlies like what happened to Vyn Girlies with Last Dragonsbreath, Dazzling Night, SSS Missing You AND NOW Skate & Spin) You can relatively farm every week to say the least. i.e: Trials of Themis in 4 weeks = 1600 s-chips, Daily sign-ins round about to 350 - 500 (if RNG blesses us with a happy D.A.V.I.S), Every Daily Task = 900 chips, and for events you can get around 200 - 500 S-Chips (As of currently wit Luke's Birthday getting roughly 4 tears if you're not planning to pull for him, his puzzle gives around 300) Coming from an Artist side they're visually appealing & I think it can't combat to other Hyv games in term for quality & their design with culture of other countries (i.e Bakerlon being a more European AU & Enduring Light being a more throw back to the past of China). JPN VAs bay not be updated every now & then since Ch.11 it's still nonetheless to appreciate we have someone like FukuJun (Vyn's JPN) & Yuki Kaji (Luke's JPN) playing into their role & understanding them to a certain degree. The only downside it faces is indeed when Genshin for example dragged it to it's "Boycott" during the anniversary (Which let's be honest is the worst timing for them cause we were just grinding if not p2w-ing for the SSSs but also the giveaways in the anniversary), people also screeched for being Orientalist (Secrets of the Tomb event) when there's also other otome games who do that & don't get called out much for it either. If anything ToT's just been the quiet kid of the hyv family that gets less drama but more chill people, which is well appreciated for a small majority (And also a little more merciful with giveaways with the 10 tears or 1800 chips for possible winners).🧡❤💚💜
@mirratheartist Wanna throw this in the ring too but there was this one person sharing a ZZZ post about getting their "First Male Fanservice" iirc and the user keeps hiding & blocking people mentioning Tears of Themis that's how Entitled they are 😭😭
Im happy to see any content being made of this game Since the silent nature of this game was making me wonder whats its all around I knew that ToT existed and was an otome game, but theres litteraly no videos made about it. I think that this game just would need some showcases, a viral video or two just to become popular, because gachas catered towards women dont have much competition, there is a reasson why one gacha catered like that was most selling one recently Other thing, ToT may be not that popular because it isnt that connected like Genshin, Hi3rd and HSR with each other Anyways Im happy to see that this game has any life, it would be a shame for it just go EoS Bcs one otome deserves to survive when 3 of their sisters are catered heavily towards men (GGZ, Hi3rd and ZZZ)
Thank you for the comment. I obviously don’t represent this community as a whole but I’d say it’d be alright if the game got just a bit more popular. But there’d be a limit since the community currently is very passive and peaceful. LaDs proves that otome games can be extremely successful. However, their huge fan base has some pretty nasty and toxic part to it as far as I’ve seen online. Seeing a game I love get recognition it deserves is what I want, for sure. But one thing I’d hate is for this loving community to suddenly burn up for popularity’s sake
I was a day 1 ToT player and managed to collect all the cards for my preferred love interest through judicious saving/planning until about a year ago, when I quit because the *second* top-up SSR for the character was released and I realized I no longer cared enough about the game to spend that much to get it, so my collection streak would be broken. It's such a scummy practice to have cards that can only be obtained by spending a minimum of $65 real-life dollars within a random, designated few weeks, especially when some people only get paid monthly. That was *before* the special SSS cards were released, which I'm given to understand were similarly scammy, although you could at least save up s-chips via gameplay instead of being *forced* to pay RL money for them. The game itself is fine and has decent QoL, the monetization system is just godawful compared to Hoyo's other gachas, which *especially* seems like a scam when you consider that you get all of a character's story scenes/characterization for free in Genshin or HSR instead of having to own the character (card) first. ZZZ splits the difference with story quests anyone can play, but 'trust scenes' you have to own the character to play through. (And HI3's character system works so differently that I can't really compare it.)
atlast tot have eng server and and receives patches, while GGZ stopped updating, after which they updated the global server 2 YEARS LATER, and a month later they announced the server's closure.
I believe how to say Marius von Hagen would be Lu Jinghe, kidding that’s his Chinese name, how I say his name would be von Hagen with a long a so Haagen
Hoyogame making skip button on every game that I played : Impossible 😂 Why my fav game in Hoyo doesn't have Skip button... They keep feeding my reading hobby instead making me love grinding :"
You better be sorry for showing the video of my love dying during his 8 years (tot is so underrated PEOPLE PLAY IT MORE. ITS FULL OF HOT MEN. WHO DOESNT WANT HOT MEN WHO ACTUALLY PROPOSE TO YOU)
@@Hye_I_edit At least HoYo doesn’t actively make every detail of Yanqing absolutely miserable. Like someone pointed out that Luke is bloodtype O, meaning he’s a potential donor but he could only receive blood from other O blood types 😭
I see tot universe is different than other hoyo games, I can only see the ToT character cameo on the big three. Maybe in the future there will be Collab with other hoyo IP. The genre maybe a barrier but at least it know as a hoyogames. Honkai gakuen is like secret and cringe game they make when they are teenager. I hope they re release honkai gakuen to global.
I once proclaimed to have played all major hoyo games of the 2010’s and onward (HI3: still active, GI: still active, GGZ: servers shut down a while ago, ZZZ: ON BREAK, HSR: returning from break), but now I remember about ToT, like heard about it when it released, but I didn’t play it…EHE…no real eye catching combat like w/ HI3 or GI & ETC to hook me to a story BTW cuz I wanna through my opinions somewhere online, I won’t deny HI3 caters to the male players, but it also is totally for the lesbians ( bronya & seele: evidence is the official video by the HI3 channel azure waters, or Kiana & Mei for every reason: my fav quote “if saving you was a sin, I’d gladly become a sinner” (Raiden Mei 17.) like chapter 17 of course argue w/ me or not on it I love to hear peoples opinions
I was playing ToT regularly but got stuck on one level and nothing i was doing would help me beat it so i quit. They do still advertise - I'm on their UA-cam and there's still videos coming out once in a while. Definitely not as much as other games tho.
Guys I haven’t played since spring 2022 or idk there was some summer event with an island and the only question I’ve had since then is did Luke die? 😭😭(😂) it’s been 3 years
Depends on whether it’s his route, or main story. Main story’s time pass isn’t accurate to real time though, it hasn’t been 3 years. As for his route, it’s somewhat resolved?
I've played this game since day 1 one of the global launch and ngl I'm kind of burnt out and just... bored from the events It's not just the same anymore 😔😔 the only thing keeping me going is collecting Vyn cards
I love this game so much when it first announced. U might not believe it but I dreamt about playing such detective game in my dream, with my pov. And there was a guy too who somehow meant to be my in-game male lead???? I woke up and gone like "Damn what a nice dream, I hope there are similar game I can play irl" AND 2 MONTHS LATER THIS GAME ANNOUNCED. Like I can't believe it myself, I was so hyping Sadly it can't hook me so much, just like any hoyo game, they make the dialog line too long and complicated, it bore me :"""")))
Totally forgot this game exists and that it has relevant lore for the wider HoYoverse. Not really into otome games but maybe I'll have to go look at the story again.
i 1st try out this game since i hear it from the HI3 community back in the day, even got in the GLB beta for it. i do absolutely LOVE my Luke Peace and his love for Rosa but 1 huge reason why i quit is that i cant sit still and read all the storyline (skipper, i know) but i does feel happy that mihoyo finally up the game rating so they can have kissing scene and dive into more mature subject P.s: chỉ có hoyofes ở VN là ko có ToT, kiếm gudz của Luke để mua khó quá mà :(
12:05 i can tell similar situation to yours but it's even worse imo this year i was pulling for 3rd anniversary cards and i did i think 78 pulls? close to 80 anyways and i got NOTHING. literally nothing. i have all standard R and SR cards maxed out with stars/dublicates so i literally spend 80 pulls to get nothing at all. i mean yeah cards dublicates are useful for event SR cards and MR but do i even use and build them for main party? no. i reached this point in this game when all my main deck consists out of SSRs and i have some leftover that don't fit in there. i honestly regretted this decision so much... i usually don't do anything i regret and it's been a while since i felt that in my life but i literally just wasted those pulls on cards i didn't really liked AND didn't get them... if i saved these pulls i could 100% get new vyn birthday ssr (he's my favorite and i collect all his bday cards) but in the end i wasn't able to get it, i had only 27 pulls left until the guarantee... and i was so mad at spending these 80 pulls on that rigged anniversary banner because i could get another card i liked and valued more and also have tons of leftovers... and i say rigged because imagine how i feel opening hoyolab and getting dozens of posts how people got MULTIPLE sss cards in one ten pull or won multiple event cards at very early pity while for last like 10? banners i literally have to go until max 100/90 pull... i get nothing by spending so much... i loved this game alot and i still love characters and plot very much but other aspects of this game killing all my will to play☹️ i wish hoyo would remember about this game and start making new updates and improvements that we need to want to keep up with this game. they literally can do anything as developers but instead they choose doing nothing...
The Gacha is definitely a gacha and it’s certain doing it’s job of draining people’s wallets. Schip earning is definitely way more for newbies. I started playing like 2 months before anniversary and I spent 200 pulls (including free pulls from event) for 2 cards :P
I play this game too, along with Genshin, and it's fun seeing someone create a content on this. This is a gacha game where it is "nice" to build pity since most of the first 10 pulls on the current banner has discounts (like 8 tears for 10 cards). I do this most of the time with event banners like birthdays since pity on an ML bday banner will carry over to the next ML's bday banner. So not bad. Like as of date of writing this comment, Luke's 4th bday is running, and I only had to do 26 more pulls since I had built pity on the previous MLs. I had to forgo a lot of cards, since I am not spending much on this (i buy only the cheapest stuff there, like a dollar or 2, then that's it.). I have two biases, Luke and Artem so I mostly have their cards, but whenever there are event banners and they are running together, I have to choose one and that hurts. 🥲 There are some that I regret that I had to get because of FOMO, but meh, it's fine. As for the story itself, since it updates once in a while, I tend to forget what the previous arc was about. Good thing you can reread the story anytime (except for events).
Well, people would often talk about those game because they’re relevant to the Honkai universe. ToT definitely (and somewhat unfortunately) isn’t part of that conversation
I may not be able to play as a male and turn it into yaoi, but i can pretend lol. Jokong aside though ive played otome games before and i like some of the ones I've played. Backstage pass is one of the stand out games for me. Its an otome visual novel with like 4 or 5 guys you can choose from it was cute tho
"Forgotten" is certainly one way to put it, I immediately looked it up to make sure it wasn't fake 😭 As a guy this isn't something I'd play*, but I'm fascinated by the concept. A gacha with DR/PW-styled investigation segments is far from something I've ever heard of, and games like this having character relationships progress naturally with time is something I can appreciate. *Also I'm just the biggest hater of Hoyoverse's gacha system, I admit I'm a Nikke zoomer so I've grown accustomed to having every character be added to the standard banner, but WHY IS EVERY SINGLE POST-LAUNCH CHARACTER LIMITED?!? AND YOU'RE TELLING ME THEY ADD CHARACTERS EVERY WEEK?! IS THIS HELL?!?
this has now convinced me to actually consider downloading tot, man the artstyle is so good. how much gb does it take in an android device tho?? does it really actually take 8 gb (which isnt a lot compared to others but like damn)
Pity being 100 and there not being any soft pity so you are pretty consistently going to exactly 100 seems so unheard of. It has happened to me and my friends multiple times. Those odds should never exist
Omgg I used to post alot on hoyolab under the same name :D (hi Im izora lol) and Rei Usagi was always there lmaoo (along with Mitsu, Acut and others)I love the community alot its just that I got burnt out of hoyolab "-w- (since Im F2P I dont have the easy content option of just showing off my lucky pulls) hence why most of my content is more creative and my creaitvity ran dry quite a while ago. Including the fact that tot posts have less views and likes on avg, although this usually doesnt impact me, havingna shitpost I made a few months ago have thousands more views than a mini comic strip that took me hours to make can be very discouraging... 😅 so Im taking a break (I've been playing since halloween 2022 and I have 74k s-chips, my self restraint has never been better as I only pull for banners I reallyyyy want, (AHEM- historical china AUs) Otherwise, I loves tears of themis, but was really dissapointwd when they didnt have a tot booth at hoyofest. (Why HOYO WHYYY)
I can feel your disappointment with the Hoyofest thing. The first time I had the opportunity to go, I was so excited until I found out they didn’t have a ToT booth there T^T
When you said this the only Hoyo game that doesn't have fantasy element, I just think "...yet" Because, their world building is SUS It's smell pre Honkai to me. Really. 😂
That feels a bit too extreme of a transition to me lol. Some of the stories in the game already has not-so-realistic elements but they’d often explain it with something that’s “reality adjacent”
NXX gen coming from the deeps of sea and it’s properties already sounded a bit sus to me plus the AUs and their references in the main timeline or Zangr’s conversations But even with what I mentioned idk how are they gonna make that transition if ever happens like: it’s gonna be some lovecraftian elements (which it’s drastic imo) like GGZ and Genshin? Honkai concepts? (these are dense already for beginners and for someone who doesn’t play it) How are they gonna introduce Abyssal/Honkai creatures in the main timeline? (AUs kinda hint that but i don’t feel it’s enough) I don’t say I don’t have faith if they’re going to do it because they would definitely find a way to connect it like any hoyo game I believe; in fact Hoyoverse has plans for connecting all their games eventually trough collabs (HI3xH:SR was the beginning supposedly) (Bit off-topic but Luke and Vyn would be associated with imaginary/light/omni elements and Artem and Marius with quantum/abyssal/void elements)
@@mirratheartist I mean... It will be like "before, we trying to reject it with logic, but after I witness it, I believe" 😂 I mean, isn't it cool to see a story of pre honkai in the perspective of other people who think the world is normal before witnessing some scientist tampering with Honkai power or Abyss? It's just like Harry Potter, but instead of reading from Harry perspective, it's the NPC perspective who doesn't know magic exist 😂 The mystery will be spicy in front of logical person like Artem and Vyn.
@@s.7033 right... The world building is just so SUS that I don't believe if they don't fantasy element. Maybe, that problematic scientist is playing with something Honkai power or abyss power without knowing what it is or with knowing what it is I don't know. Because everytime I play it, I can't shake the feeling with their Khaenri'ah eyes! I first think it's the game default design that their eyes is like Khaenri'ah descendant, but then other NPC doesn't have that kind of eyes, only the important people and the MC. Isn't that already suspicious? Because Hoyo isn't a person who making a careless design. Everything is lore and have story in it.
Obviously not Genshin. 💀 Genshin is their most important and popular game. The reason no one knows about it is because it is a dating sim/visual novel game that is targeted at women. There's not really a lot of money to be made on dating sims aimed at women (aimed at men it depends, there is definitely more of a market there), there's a reason HI3 (tbf HI3 isn't a dating sim these days but it was initially created as one in a way, lol) caught on and ToT didn't. Most women just don't spend that much on video games, or play them for that matter. I don't play ToT, but I do play another Chinese dating sim/visual novel type game and although there are some whales there and the game has its own fandom/subreddit/etc., no one's really heard of it pretty much anywhere else. That's just how it is. You can even look to Genshin itself tbh. The biggest banners outside of pure meta (Neuvillette and Kazuha) are all female characters that have sexy designs. That's why you rarely see male characters, women just aren't willing to whale as much as men are, on average, and there are fewer female players as a whole so fewer female whales than male ones, and yes most people are heterosexual, so it is reasonable to assume the vast majority of people interested in female characters to the point of whaling are men, and vice versa. Moreover, you can kinda tell with the quality of the animations in ToT that it was never meant to be a huge investment for Hoyo, more so dabbling with a female playerbase sample to see what kind of characters women respond to, and incorporate those archetypes into their other games. (We know they take feedback for one game and implement changes in another all the time, lol.) So, it's not that it's "forgotten," it's more like a side project. It was never their main thing and never will be, because the revenue isn't there to put much attention into it beyond collecting data to pump into characters for games with more even sex demographics (Genshin, HSR, although most players are still male, there are female players obviously), and hope to make money off that.
The thumbnail I made was just a poke at how many used to say that Genshin was the “forgotten middle child of Hoyoverse”, given how they saw the game was being treated. Of course, things are changing every since 5.0 I neither expect nor want ToT to be as popular as HoYo’s other games. That will definitely mean sacrificing the small, peaceful community we have right now. Otome games can be extremely profitable and popular, as proven by LaDs. But the game itself is unique in the otome scene, being 3D and all
HI3rd oddly likes killing off its male MCs, whether it's Kiana's brother Kevin (who oddly is still playable in adventure mode) or Male Dreamseeker (who got "killed off" halfway through the chapter). Genshin, Star Rail, and Zenless have playable male MCs and pullable males.
It’s a borderline magical girl video game with a large fandom of incels in CN. It’s not shocking at all. Also Kevin isn’t Kiana’s brother, but her ancestor.
Would an unexpected Luke birthday card count? I got him while trying to do some pulls to exchange for the R card yesterday lol. It was at 80 till featured too 😅
the game looks taler made for me, cause i like it all, i just wish the MC can be male, i like BL otome, or like Obey me, where the MC is non binary, i find it hard to get into the female character role, cause its very different dynamic between gay and straight relationships
Well, it’s HoYo’s and it’s Chinese so it is what it is. Plus, Rosa has a bit of a strong personality, so some would say it’s a bit difficult to self-insert
thank you so much for making this video, i thoroughly enjoyed it!! i started playing tears of themis back when it first launched in 2021 with 2 other friends and now i’m the only one still playing it, it’s a little sad but i could never abandon my man marius 🫶 (i even used him as a case study during one of my uni assignments back in 2022 lol) i’m really glad the game’s still getting constant updates and, although i’ve fallen behind on the main and card stories, i truly appreciate the effort put into the game’s different characters and narratives, i’m also a big sucker for the art and animations ❤️ while the community is pretty small, i’m glad we’re still able to share our love and appreciation for this game in a pretty chill environment, i like going through some of the posts on hoyolab from time to time and i find it hilarious that rei usagi manages to comment in every single one ksksk (i also remember how i won a physical letter during the 2nd anniversary but it never arrived lol i wish there was a bit more merch accessibility for global fans, specially those outside of Asia)
Merch isn’t super accessible even in Asia lol, it’s only in a select few countries. I have to go online to buy some. I happen to have a friend studying in Singapore and I’m asking them to buy some for me :P At least this game’s merch release is more consistent than other Hoyo games :3
im casual with ToT and ill be very honest the anxiety i feel logging in that game i think the maim menu does too much its really busy visually but ill keep playing anyway mostly for the main story and vyn 🤍
This was sorta rushed because I don't want to delay it till my finals lol
For my next upload, I want to do something fun and silly after all the long, and serious vids lately (likely Ovenbreak again)
There won't be much activity at least until December or next year :P
Have a nice day, y'all :3
the reason why im playing this game is because im an ace attorney fan and also an otome fan. ToT is literally a mix of that lol
Perfection 🤭
theres a pun in there somewhere. ace otome? ace otormey??
When you talked about the fact that pity doesn't carry, it actually does but it only carries if the amount of MLs are the same. For example if there is a banner that has all 4 MLs then the pity carries to the next banner that also contains 4 MLs. Other than that I absolutely agree with your other points I've been playing this game since the beta and I'm glad that the community isn't as toxic as other ones.
Honestly, I was simplifying it as much as I could. Even I don’t understand it fully :P
yea one thing i never liked about tot was the convoluted pity system (also 100 pity is too much imo for the amount of chips they give). one reason i quit playing after 2nd anniv was because i got sick of hitting hard pity almost every banner, combined with the fact that the pity carry over is so inconsistent
Yeah, the merchandise in this game is definitely way more consistent than other games lol
Thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed it 😊🫶
FRRR
Its very nature is already niche. The games been pretty good at what it’s intended to give to the players :3
I think its just because this game seems to have 0 marketing
Like for Real I played every other Hoyo game they have available at least for a bit and enjoyed content of it and I never got any ad, any video about ToT
This video is litteraly first in my life I ve seen about it
Omg a tot video in this day and age? I thought it was just me and 6 other ppl who still play this game🤧 great video thanks for making this !!!
Hehe :3
omg crazy to see tot content in the 3 years of playing since its global cbt release 😭 i remember getting into this game when i saw hoyoverse had an otome game in china (plus the ace attorney elements) and freaked out when i saw it coming for global. i agree with the major events and i get so busy for that month, i missed finishing it and get all rewards LOL it is kind of sad to see the game not getting the same hype as others but honestly, i'm glad they still cater the story in the game and the events plus heck, they go crazy for the merchandise like the collab with judydoll for fans. my heart was so happy to get the mail about getting a physical letter for second anniversary and they prioritized the old players that are still playing :'D also winning giveaways has been so much fun since its the only time i get my hands on official hyv merch without spending haha
this game has my heart so much since release i love seeing the relationship developments from meeting them at the start and now getting engaged. i could never see myself stop playing anytime soon TT
edit: miscounted the years ^^;;
The game’s quality is certainly amazing and the story too.
(P.s: I like that I actually have a high chance of winning merch in this small fandom lol. I actually did win)
As both genshin and tot player, thank you so much for making this video. This honestly made me a bit emotional…
😊🫶
I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a tot recommended video, it’s nice for the game to be talked about! I’ve been playing since release and it’s definitely one of my favorites. I’m f2p so it’s definitely annoying not getting all the cards I want but with card stories available online I don’t really mind
TOT VIDEO IN THE YEAR OF OUR LORD 2024 this is so hype
i ve been playing this game from day one..safe to say...i cried.....
( ´・・)ノ(・・ `˶)
(and I think like 5 normal tears?)
I will always be perpetually salty that it wasn't added in the global version
Welp… that’s interesting 0-0
I REMEMBER. I used to play in tw and was hoping they'd release it in global but its been a year or two...
I’m glad you’re having fun with the game. I agree that the community is super chill. We’re all too busy simping to start any big drama lol
It’s fine, I’m aromantic and I also play this game
I play as a wingman/woman more though rather than self-inserting LOL
I WILL PATIENTLY WAIT FOR VYN RUCHTER CHARACTER ANALYSATION!!!!
That would actually take awhile because December is finals month for me. Also, I haven’t read every card story yet 🫠
Great video, the beginning was really strong with that Vyn meme, amazing! The person who made it must have the best sense of comedy 😏
But in all seriousness, I love the points you made. Take it from someone who has seen small fandoms blow up and burn before, I wouldn't change our community for the world! ^^
Agree. :3
I feel you. The start can be a bit overwhelming. Experiencing the stories is really amazing imo 😊
Thank u for this, been playing for so long but sadly its rarely talked abt
Out of all the Hoyoverse games, it’s currently the only one I play. I’ve played it for 3 years and dropped it for a while, but I picked it up again 2 months ago and haven’t stopped playing since- seriously. I’ve logged in EVERY DAY for that long. I love this game.
I will do ANYTHING for my pookie Luke, he is my husband and I always forget his doomed story line tho…. And then I get depressed 😰 anyways--! Tears of Themis is PEAK!!!!! I love it sm!!!! 💖
Sometimes talking breaks can make playing more enjoyable :3
I've been playing tot pretty much since the beginning thanks to a sponsor and I like it a lot! loved the video, I can tell you put a lot of passion into it! super looking forward to that character analysis video :D
Thank you for the comment 🥺🫶
YASS I SAW TEARS OF THEMIS AND I CLICK YAYY
Edit: also the pity thing, personally I like it cause then I know I’m guaranteed to get my specific cards that I want/ I know the pity for the specific bannners :) ex: me pulling on 1 and sec B day and not getting both of them? No problemo my pity will stay the same until I’m ready to get both of them again :) that’s just my personal opinion
Of course, the Gacha has its ups and downs. It’s a double edged sword, sort of
Tears of Themis mentioned 🗣️🗣️🗣️
i played the game since its release but had to drop it after reaching level 35 bcus of the gacha system. i was 12 pulls away from nabbing luke's shape of you card but it ended and it got me messed up lol.
3 weeks ago i came back out of curiousity and managed to get the damn card through the return banner with the help of the additional s-chips* they give to you when you come back. safe to say that "return banner thing" healed me of 3 years of grief for not getting that damn ed sheeran card 😂
not the ed sheeran card lmaooo 😭😭
You did not just call Luke freaking Ed Sheeran 🗿
as someone who played otome games and even religiously played mystic messenger (at its peak), i can say that this game is really good. the art, the story, amazing. however, gameplay isn't for me, gacha is horrendous, and i just don't have the time for it anymore, let alone can't play it on my phone because for some reason it eats up my ram. i really want to enjoy this game 😢
Understandable. Most people play games to have fun, and when they can’t play, they just take a break. We’ve all got a life to live :3
Praying
Another thing I really like about TOT are the mini events and how varied they can be.
Like the flip & match events, the slide puzzle events (although i HATED those), the sudoku events (which funfact, actually taught me HOW to play sudoku), the cooking trials events with tabby the cat (who had its entrance through another mini event a few years ago where the cleaning robot goes missing!), and most recently the added number tile sliding events
I also remember 3 years ago there was a halloween event where you harvest pumpkins!
There’s a lot of types of games you can play through the mini events and the badges that come with some of them are also very fun to collect.
I dont see too many people who talk about them though so I thought I’d leave this appreciation comment for them here
I agree that the mini games are really fun ^^
If you could see me right now, you'd see me standing up and clapping!!! lmao
This video is incredible and the editing is also very very good. I loved it from beginning to end. You really did a great job
Thank you 😭🫶
To be honest i forgot about Tears of Themis that technically Luke is dead in my gameplay (cause I didnt play that far into the chapter for it to be revealed if he died or not).
HoYo just loves poking the “death flag stick” at the boy T^T
Tbh, I'd like that the TOT fanbase are smaller than other hoyo fanbases (not trying to gatekeep tho). I find more peace in the community, ngl 😭😭
I’d gatekeep if it means protecting what we have already /hj
It may not be as polished, 3D, fantasy, action as Genshin and HSR are, but it still has a very good story with well developed character designs. Rosa is a very good main character, not just a typical otome self-insert, she does have her own personality, wits and smarts around her, which helps her relationship with the boys. I love both the mystery aspect of the game and the romance! 🩷
I'm glad it's actually still alive even though it's an otome game which is still quite a niche genre and does not attract as much players. ✨
The only thing I'll complain about is that Hoyo has to stop traumatising the best boy, my puppy boi Luke Pearce, I want to see him live! 😭🥰
Thank you for the comment 🥺
And yes, I agree. I will always scream at HoYo every time I see the sweet boy in pain 😭
So many times now, I’ve had to remind myself that they aren’t real and it actually makes me feel a bit empty inside :(
I’d totally date any one of them off they were real, even Rosa. But like, I’d say I’m too much of a girl failure for the queen herself 😞
Ironically, Tears of Themis was the reason why i was introduced to other games by Mihoyo so, I don't think it's forgotten.
Well, I don’t think many Hoyo players would be the same. I did a survey once and about the same amount of people played other games Hoyo games before ToT was the same as the amount of those who didn’t. So, I’d say when listing Hoyo games, most wouldn’t be likely to know about ToT
@@mirratheartist True, but I did enjoy this game nonetheless. Mihoyo even released another book about it too with more artwork.
@@mystique9130 I wish I have money to buy the art books 🥲

1st. This is SO coollllll!! How do people not know abt this??
2nd. New sub alertttttt!!! And I WILL be playing this game😻😻😻
I hope you have a good time ^^
I have a love hate relationship with this game, I enjoy the story, characters, and art but the pity system is so fricking stupid and at a certain point, there's not much to do.
Also I'm kinda dumb but once I didn't realize they were giving free daily pulls and I missed like 5 free pulls ☠️
Edit: I just saw you say there's too much to do and when you mentioned the wiggle room I AGREE SO BAD. I wish they would just accumulate tries or whatever for events instead of you needing to log in everyday. It's weird there's a simultaneous lack/too much to do but I think it depends on the player and how far they are into the game
Edit: Hi, edit again. And you're also so right at the end - I still enjoy the game and think of it fondly even if it has some stuff I don't enjoy. The main thing is because it has a smaller cast, it feels like you can spend more time with your favs and have more emotional moments, which has been a hit or miss for me in Genshin
I saw that many people were feeling the same about the events. Events can feel repetitive, and at the same time overwhelming
As a day 1 player I’m always sooo excited to see new ToT video in my recommendations!!! Thank you for your work🤎🩵💜💛❤️
Thank you for the comment. I’m just making stuff I want to see but hasn’t really exist yet :3
So most of the time, if you get another card, it could be considered a loss 😅
You might have to wait for a while because I haven’t even read every card story yet 🥲
I would love to see ur character analysis on vyn😝 hes my fave
That will take a bit since I haven’t even read all the cards yet 😅
@@mirratheartist i see, no worries! ^^
ohh Tears of Themis video, on youtube? Absolutely everyone talking about Hoyo games never mentions even ToT. I played until recently actively, it was my emotional helper and just such a good game with a fun community.
Similar to most of them don’t know that Honkai Impact 3rd even exist
It’s just my opinion, but I feel like people who dive into the Honkai universe lore would eventually learn of Hi3rd
That Rei commenter thing is so true- they even sometimes comment on my other posts even though they don’t play genshin! They seem so sweet!
We all love Rei here 🥰
I'm so happy someone is talking about this game!!
I feel you. I love Artem but Vyn keeps haunting me like “coming early with a standard “ jump scare. I like Vyn too but Artem comes first
I don't play ToT but I got recommended this vid, and I have to say for all the downsides you mentioned, none of them are specific to ToT but is rather how the joshimuke game industry runs as a whole.
Thank you for the feedback. My knowledge on the gaming space isn’t great. I only play a few games and may hear about some big games here and there :P
wow havent seen a tears of themis video in ages now
honestly for my tip as a f2p in this game for 3 years now, DONT EVER SPEND MORE THAN 30-40 pulls on a banner unless u rlly want the card or you’ll emd up wasting it and not seeing that pity for a long time
you mentioned not leaving the video thinking the game is bad, but honestly, this video really made me want to play it! i'm an avid otome fan, and the only reason i haven't played is because of some card designs that are in...poor taste (but honestly, that comes with all hoyo games at all points, haha, natlan...) i definitely see myself trying this in the future!!! this was a great video
Clocking in here as a 1 Year old Player to the game.
There *is* an advantage when it comes to farming S-chips & Tears (That's if HYV doesn't go guns blazing at certain ML girlies like what happened to Vyn Girlies with Last Dragonsbreath, Dazzling Night, SSS Missing You AND NOW Skate & Spin) You can relatively farm every week to say the least.
i.e: Trials of Themis in 4 weeks = 1600 s-chips, Daily sign-ins round about to 350 - 500 (if RNG blesses us with a happy D.A.V.I.S), Every Daily Task = 900 chips, and for events you can get around 200 - 500 S-Chips (As of currently wit Luke's Birthday getting roughly 4 tears if you're not planning to pull for him, his puzzle gives around 300)
Coming from an Artist side they're visually appealing & I think it can't combat to other Hyv games in term for quality & their design with culture of other countries (i.e Bakerlon being a more European AU & Enduring Light being a more throw back to the past of China).
Yeah, the game has its positives and negatives. People are entitled to their own opinions on it :v
@mirratheartist Wanna throw this in the ring too but there was this one person sharing a ZZZ post about getting their "First Male Fanservice" iirc and the user keeps hiding & blocking people mentioning Tears of Themis that's how Entitled they are 😭😭
@@lissyrozy__ I’ve seen that and yeah… it’s just another day on Twitter. Any normal person, at most, would just say one thing and move on 😗
Im happy to see any content being made of this game
Since the silent nature of this game was making me wonder whats its all around
I knew that ToT existed and was an otome game, but theres litteraly no videos made about it.
I think that this game just would need some showcases, a viral video or two just to become popular, because gachas catered towards women dont have much competition, there is a reasson why one gacha catered like that was most selling one recently
Other thing, ToT may be not that popular because it isnt that connected like Genshin, Hi3rd and HSR with each other
Anyways Im happy to see that this game has any life, it would be a shame for it just go EoS
Bcs one otome deserves to survive when 3 of their sisters are catered heavily towards men (GGZ, Hi3rd and ZZZ)
Yeah… the p2w stuff could really be a massive turnoff for some :(

I was playing ToT regularly but got stuck on one level and nothing i was doing would help me beat it so i quit. They do still advertise - I'm on their UA-cam and there's still videos coming out once in a while. Definitely not as much as other games tho.
I’m not sure how you’d define advertising 😅
I just find that the game doesn’t run any YT ads
Guys I haven’t played since spring 2022 or idk there was some summer event with an island
and the only question I’ve had since then is
did Luke die? 😭😭(😂) it’s been 3 years
Depends on whether it’s his route, or main story. Main story’s time pass isn’t accurate to real time though, it hasn’t been 3 years. As for his route, it’s somewhat resolved?
The fact that there’s not more otome type content in America when we’re totally capable of writing women’s content is criminal!
I've played this game since day 1 one of the global launch and ngl I'm kind of burnt out and just... bored from the events

i can tell similar situation to yours but it's even worse imo
this year i was pulling for 3rd anniversary cards and i did i think 78 pulls? close to 80 anyways and i got NOTHING. literally nothing. i have all standard R and SR cards maxed out with stars/dublicates so i literally spend 80 pulls to get nothing at all. i mean yeah cards dublicates are useful for event SR cards and MR but do i even use and build them for main party? no. i reached this point in this game when all my main deck consists out of SSRs and i have some leftover that don't fit in there. i honestly regretted this decision so much... i usually don't do anything i regret and it's been a while since i felt that in my life but i literally just wasted those pulls on cards i didn't really liked AND didn't get them... if i saved these pulls i could 100% get new vyn birthday ssr (he's my favorite and i collect all his bday cards) but in the end i wasn't able to get it, i had only 27 pulls left until the guarantee... and i was so mad at spending these 80 pulls on that rigged anniversary banner because i could get another card i liked and valued more and also have tons of leftovers... and i say rigged because imagine how i feel opening hoyolab and getting dozens of posts how people got MULTIPLE sss cards in one ten pull or won multiple event cards at very early pity while for last like 10? banners i literally have to go until max 100/90 pull... i get nothing by spending so much...
i loved this game alot and i still love characters and plot very much but other aspects of this game killing all my will to play☹️ i wish hoyo would remember about this game and start making new updates and improvements that we need to want to keep up with this game. they literally can do anything as developers but instead they choose doing nothing...
There are some that I regret that I had to get because of FOMO, but meh, it's fine.
As for the story itself, since it updates once in a while, I tend to forget what the previous arc was about. Good thing you can reread the story anytime (except for events).
still playing that game because i'm delusional and freaky... first otome game i play before love and deepspace
Even people remember GGZ or honkai gauken litrealy forgot about tears of themis
Well, people would often talk about those game because they’re relevant to the Honkai universe. ToT definitely (and somewhat unfortunately) isn’t part of that conversation
I may not be able to play as a male and turn it into yaoi, but i can pretend lol. Jokong aside though ive played otome games before and i like some of the ones I've played. Backstage pass is one of the stand out games for me. Its an otome visual novel with like 4 or 5 guys you can choose from it was cute tho
"Forgotten" is certainly one way to put it, I immediately looked it up to make sure it wasn't fake 😭
As a guy this isn't something I'd play*, but I'm fascinated by the concept.
Gacha hell for sure. But I guess for some, the story and the pretty characters make it worth :3
this has now convinced me to actually consider downloading tot, man the artstyle is so good. how much gb does it take in an android device tho?? does it really actually take 8 gb (which isnt a lot compared to others but like damn)
I think it’s around that much. They recently added a feature that allows you to delete certain cards’ story, animation to save up storage

Uhm. Wrong game bud
I LOVE TOT It was sort of popular when it first came out because it was during the boom of Genshin, but it never really stuck 😔
Pity being 100 and there not being any soft pity so you are pretty consistently going to exactly 100 seems so unheard of. It has happened to me and my friends multiple times. Those odds should never exist
Welp, it’s Gacha, it sucks and they could just invent whatever system they want :v

2. Thank you so much🥺🫶
3. I didn’t want the screenshot to have Vietnamese. I tried changing settings but the app just refused to listen 🐧
Omgg I used to post alot on hoyolab under the same name :D (hi Im izora lol) and Rei Usagi was always there lmaoo (along with Mitsu, Acut and others)I love the community alot its just that I got burnt out of hoyolab "-w- (since Im F2P I dont have the easy content option of just showing off my lucky pulls)
hence why most of my content is more creative and my creaitvity ran dry quite a while ago. Including the fact that tot posts have less views and likes on avg, although this usually doesnt impact me, havingna shitpost I made a few months ago have thousands more views than a mini comic strip that took me hours to make can be very discouraging... 😅 so Im taking a break (I've been playing since halloween 2022 and I have 74k s-chips, my self restraint has never been better as I only pull for banners I reallyyyy want, (AHEM- historical china AUs)
Otherwise, I loves tears of themis, but was really dissapointwd when they didnt have a tot booth at hoyofest. (Why HOYO WHYYY)
I can feel your disappointment with the Hoyofest thing. The first time I had the opportunity to go, I was so excited until I found out they didn’t have a ToT booth there T^T
When you said this the only Hoyo game that doesn't have fantasy element, I just think "...yet"
Because, their world building is SUS
It's smell pre Honkai to me. Really. 😂
That feels a bit too extreme of a transition to me lol. Some of the stories in the game already has not-so-realistic elements but they’d often explain it with something that’s “reality adjacent”
NXX gen coming from the deeps of sea and it’s properties already sounded a bit sus to me plus the AUs and their references in the main timeline or Zangr’s conversations
But even with what I mentioned idk how are they gonna make that transition if ever happens like: it’s gonna be some lovecraftian elements (which it’s drastic imo) like GGZ and Genshin? Honkai concepts? (these are dense already for beginners and for someone who doesn’t play it) How are they gonna introduce Abyssal/Honkai creatures in the main timeline? (AUs kinda hint that but i don’t feel it’s enough)
I don’t say I don’t have faith if they’re going to do it because they would definitely find a way to connect it like any hoyo game I believe; in fact Hoyoverse has plans for connecting all their games eventually trough collabs (HI3xH:SR was the beginning supposedly)
(Bit off-topic but Luke and Vyn would be associated with imaginary/light/omni elements and Artem and Marius with quantum/abyssal/void elements)
@@mirratheartist I mean... It will be like "before, we trying to reject it with logic, but after I witness it, I believe" 😂
I mean, isn't it cool to see a story of pre honkai in the perspective of other people who think the world is normal before witnessing some scientist tampering with Honkai power or Abyss? It's just like Harry Potter, but instead of reading from Harry perspective, it's the NPC perspective who doesn't know magic exist 😂
The mystery will be spicy in front of logical person like Artem and Vyn.
Genshin is their most important and popular game.
(We know they take feedback for one game and implement changes in another all the time, lol.)
So, it's not that it's "forgotten," it's more like a side project.
Of course, things are changing every since 5.0
I neither expect nor want ToT to be as popular as HoYo’s other games. That will definitely mean sacrificing the small, peaceful community we have right now. Otome games can be extremely profitable and popular, as proven by LaDs. But the game itself is unique in the otome scene, being 3D and all
is this where all of the hyv husbandos went
There’s 4 of them and they’re awesome :3
HI3rd oddly likes killing off its male MCs, whether it's Kiana's brother Kevin (who oddly is still playable in adventure mode) or Male Dreamseeker (who got "killed off" halfway through the chapter). Genshin, Star Rail, and Zenless have playable male MCs and pullable males.
It’s a borderline magical girl video game with a large fandom of incels in CN.
It’s not shocking at all.
Also Kevin isn’t Kiana’s brother, but her ancestor.
impossible tot in my youtube fyp
Boo! Jump scare! Hehe :3
Well actually 🤓 the forgotten child is GGZ
Oh man you have a bad luck for sure 💔 for me i got pretty lucky after i lost then win
Would an unexpected Luke birthday card count? I got him while trying to do some pulls to exchange for the R card yesterday lol. It was at 80 till featured too 😅
Yeah true
I stopped playing for my wallet XD I can’t resist, the only way is to not play it lol
As my friend always say, those who don’t play are the real winners
the game looks taler made for me, cause i like it all, i just wish the MC can be male, i like BL otome, or like Obey me, where the MC is non binary, i find it hard to get into the female character role, cause its very different dynamic between gay and straight relationships
Well, it’s HoYo’s and it’s Chinese so it is what it is. Plus, Rosa has a bit of a strong personality, so some would say it’s a bit difficult to self-insert
Nah, I ain't playing if I can't be a male MC 🤣
Fair enough, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
There’s still guys who play for a bunch of reasons like the story and unironically, the MC. I think she’s pretty :3
thank you so much for making this video, i thoroughly enjoyed it!!
i started playing tears of themis back when it first launched in 2021 with 2 other friends and now i’m the only one still playing it, it’s a little sad but i could never abandon my man marius 🫶 (i even used him as a case study during one of my uni assignments back in 2022 lol)
i’m really glad the game’s still getting constant updates and, although i’ve fallen behind on the main and card stories, i truly appreciate the effort put into the game’s different characters and narratives, i’m also a big sucker for the art and animations ❤️
while the community is pretty small, i’m glad we’re still able to share our love and appreciation for this game in a pretty chill environment, i like going through some of the posts on hoyolab from time to time and i find it hilarious that rei usagi manages to comment in every single one ksksk
(i also remember how i won a physical letter during the 2nd anniversary but it never arrived lol i wish there was a bit more merch accessibility for global fans, specially those outside of Asia)
Merch isn’t super accessible even in Asia lol, it’s only in a select few countries. I have to go online to buy some. I happen to have a friend studying in Singapore and I’m asking them to buy some for me :P
At least this game’s merch release is more consistent than other Hoyo games :3
im casual with ToT and ill be very honest the anxiety i feel logging in that game i think the maim menu does too much its really busy visually but ill keep playing anyway mostly for the main story and vyn 🤍
HI MY COMRADE, MY FELLOW VYN LOVER/ENTHUSIAST!!!
