Interesting to see the evolution of the audience. 80s house heads that have been there from when this was at its infancy are a different breed. It was a culture for us- fashion, dance, lifestyle. Promoting guest lists, flyer bombing, opening circles on the floor for dance battles 7 days a week. Experiencing Junior at Sound Factory, Roger Sanchez at Red Zone, Tenaglia/ LiL Louie/ J Peters at Tunnel, Knuckles at Warehouse. Legendary NY venues like Cafe Con Leche, Danceteria, SF Bar, The Bank, Limelight, Webster Hall, Palladium. From NYC to Chicago to UK house heads moved to a rhythm. Hip hop has seen the same changes.
So many on the dance floor that just don't move!! Youth...in my day it would be big moves and loads of hands in the air!! I am so sad the young ones don't feel that....but they I am sure are loving the tunes!!
Or just pay the $10 a month to go commercial free while still supporting all the artists and platforms you watch instead of gaming the system because you're too cheap to pay

Come on ladies and gentlemen! Time to feel that beat from your head down to you feet, then back up to your heart, then boom! Your Soul....as that beat hits, tempts you then, BANG!
@@daveculver9299 No, these dead heads don't have a clue - where do you think rave started? I don't do raves anyway, we DANCE when we go out - not stand around waving fluorescent sticks in the air and trying to act you got some rhythm and soul in you! Every video that i've seen on youtube featuring London was gawd awful with people standing around and dancing off beat - fuck outta here with your nonsense.
UGH! Come on Americans dance, groove, jive, two-step, do something other than standing there! I've been blessed to live in Europe for two years, Korea for a year, and Japan for two years and the electronic culture THRIVES! Especially in Europe, as you all well know. Why is that? Why is it that Americans founded house and techno, yet it is so dead in America? That's what I'm least looking forward to going back to America after my tour is done in Japan. How do we get America forward-thinking about electronic music like Europe, and NOT that mainstream EDM and DUBSTEP stuff they ignorantly confuse with house or techno? Or will I have to go and make my life's work reviving house/techno/deep house culture once I get back to America? I want to see each state and each city within that state have its own scene! It is a big vision, but hell, I'm determined.
the youth killed the scene. in sf ca rave days were the shit till about 2005. we would dance til the sun came up. i think ppl now just want to post memories to show off rather than live in that perfect moment where the dj made your night a night to remember. also its so expensive and too mainstream that as we all know the underground parties still have it going on. smaller scale but great vibes. i started raving because i loved the music first. most kids just go because its popular. sorry if im wrong but thats what it seems like. im not at all into edm , im more into mark farina roger S detroit swindle and classic underground anthems. the euro heads love it, but the scene is almost dead or not what it used to be.
There are at least a couple of regular gatherings in NY that know how to groove. Check out Daybreaker (daybreaker.com) in 28 cities and The Get Down (thegetdownnyc.com). Both run dances in New York every two weeks. The energy is over the top, the vibe is wonderful, and everyone dances sober.
Folks, when Carl Cox played NYC I’m the late 90s, early 00s I can assure you we did NOT look like this! Quite opposite actually - we lost our flippin minds and rave danced to Shaman Carl’s crazy ass sets! ❤
Cause maybe those sets can be an example fot many dj. I mean, almost all the youtubers obv don't want to see their "type of video" or some things like that on the others channels. But u know maybe its not a problem for Big Carl if his sets are an example for everyone, maybe he agree if someone else makes music and mix on his set. Was i clear?
Most mixes will stay up, but they will have a copyright claim on it so it can't be monetized by the person uploading. Literally every mix I put up has a copyright claim.
If anyone is concerned with the crowd and how motionless everyone is: Let me tell you about this evening. For starters, there was an issue with sound once Carl Cox got on the decks. Number 2, it was fucking packed. The real parties are along the edge of the main floor. Number 3, It was raining pretty badly, the vibe was still dope but the energy was low. Probably does not help everyone was deep in the K lol. NY loves K.
i can imagine coxy aged 70 still banging out tunes at venues like this
No way 70 wow
Hes 57
Me too, and I also want to be there to see and hear him!
He probably won't have aged one bit either
I mean he will still be playing at 70

But u know maybe its not a problem for Big Carl if his sets are an example for everyone, maybe he agree if someone else makes music and mix on his set. Was i clear?
The DJs, artists, copyright holders, record companies, etc make agreements on whether or not to take them down.
Most mixes will stay up, but they will have a copyright claim on it so it can't be monetized by the person uploading. Literally every mix I put up has a copyright claim.
Damn. Any have track ID for min 27 please. What a Banger!!!!!!!!!!

Long live the King!
Whos the queen ?
If anyone is concerned with the crowd and how motionless everyone is: Let me tell you about this evening. For starters, there was an issue with sound once Carl Cox got on the decks. Number 2, it was fucking packed. The real parties are along the edge of the main floor. Number 3, It was raining pretty badly, the vibe was still dope but the energy was low. Probably does not help everyone was deep in the K lol. NY loves K.
