This thing is actually OF-40. It's an Italian take on the German Leopard. It wasn't very popular in Italy, but they received some requests for it from a North African nation, which I can't remember.
Not quite right the lion (or Leone as it was called in Italy) was made before the OF-40, but was later used as the basis for said tank

Interesting to see how WG buffed the tank prior to eventual release today.
I saw an American turreted tier9 tank destroyer today called T-L7 and a chieftain prototype a few days ago on EU2. Couldn’t find the td stats in comparison though. Any news about it ?
Looks good, gun handeling should be better but not leo 1 stats. Interclip reload of 5 secs... not sure if that would be good maybe 3 sec if you count in that you have that 21 sec if you shoot all shells. But i have the question does is gonna be just another progretto variant or does it gonna give a whole new way to play italian tanks.

i love leo 1 which only lacks armor and this thing supplement that in a perfect way .

Could be a new campaign missions reward tank. Stage 2 with the 279e came out four years ago and Stage 1 with the 260 came out 4 years before that so wg may be working on a 3rd set of missions

i can not believe what i am seeing, a tank that actually exists? even though, the of-40 is a 1977 design, production starting in 1980, which basically is outside the time period wot should cover in theory, i am happy to see a new actually not made up tank in the high tiers

This tank makes no sense to me. It is agile and mobile, with nice alpha damage, decent penetration and very good DPM. BUT, at least if I understand it correctly, you have to get rid of the 21sec shell to have that DPM. From what I gathered, the third shell is the one with the 8 sec reload, right? So if you are out of action for a long time, you first shoot the shell which was loading for 21sec, then you can use the DPM with the shell which was loading for 8 sec. Strange.
Then you have armor, but you don't have armor. Angles look nice on the frontal part, but we aren't smarter. Thanks to WG we need to wait until the model is released and we can use a third party website to check out the real values.
Then I go on a hate train again because of the terrible gun handling. The Leone will be the joint-least accurate medium at Tier 10 with the 430u and would be the joint-fifth least accurate heavy alongside the is-7 and E100 with the big peepee (exact same aim time and dispersion btw). Accuracy is a lazy balancing tool and takes away the fun.
Hope this thing will get some stats adjusted because in this state this thing is a filler, with no particular role or strengths enough to make it a relevant pick. It kinda feels like the Rinoceronte with a few stats being outstanding and the rest being a pile of poop.
autoreloader, meant to be used like a 3 shot autoreloader. the 21 sec reload shot an "emergency" shot. you would use that only if you have to fire. otherwise wait for the 8 second third shell.
This tank looks cool but the gun handling needs to be better. It is going to be so bad to have to play this tank with that gun handling.
