This should have been a 1 minute video
80% of this channel could be 1 minute videos however even if you wanted too you cannot do that on youtube. The algorithms that decide what content to promote on youtube will almost never recommend a video thats less than 5 minutes. Just gotta skip.
But then he wouldn't have had the pleasure to hear himself talk for 7+ minutes ...
the hardest thing about those bits is taking them out of the damn box. I always feel like my finger is going to slip and get cut on an adjacent bit. I use needle nose to get them out - it's ridiculous.
agreed to both of you guys. I have the one set with drill bits, and almost diced my fingers trying to get the out. Pliers or something to wedge them from underneath is the way to go.
Lucky I'm an electrician and always have pliers handy just to pull them out
lifeisgood070 idk what it’s like for all the kits but some of the bit holders flip up
They planned on attaching them to the pack out boxes, it went all the way to production on the bit boxes, but VP veto'ed it because they make the pack out organizer box, so it would have took from profits on the new pack out organizer. My uncle works for Milwaukee
@@autonomous44 you know real people work there right? Those people have family one can assume and even friends. No need to be a D Bag your whole life
@@travis8623 You new to the internet or something? The "my uncle works there" shit is an age old classic. Don't jerk my jive, son.
Dude, you have a rare talent. Being able to talk a lot about very little. I for one envy you.
@@maxwaters1461he'd be a terrific political candidate; to expound virtues of 1/4"-20 female threads in a mere 7+ minutes.
And who watching this couldn't MAKE a belt clip or loop to hang from belt, ladder rung, maybe ear gauge? At least they have a clue what size screw to allow for!
If they want to go fancy with these boxes, they should design them, so you can remove the bits with on hand. Some times I even need pliers to remove them, especially with oily hands
Sometimes Milwaukee thinks a little too hard... it’s a bit case
@@VCGConstruction by the time i have been getting home the live streams have been done. But i will be back representing the 609 ... lol
Yooo cuz we need the representation!! Good to hear from you! Glad you’re busy and doing well!
I store my drill bits with the cutting edges in, not out. First, you never worry about cutting your fingers when putting them in or taking them out. Second, it is easier to see and compare rod sizes than imagining the rod size when looking at the sharp end. It is easier to hold a bolt up to the flat back and see if the bit is a good size. I like the carriage bolt honorable mention idea. The magnet would quickly attract sharp iron filing that would have to be removed or risk injuring skin. The other ideas are good but esoteric for my own use.
@@BannedByMe oh man I have. When new they are hard to remove and I did it first try. Been very careful since, but I'm gonna flip em over now
I've got 2 sets, and I put a small carabiner clip attached to short nylon webbing on each. Then I just clip them to the D rings for the shoulder strap of my main tool bag. Keeps them hanging conveniently on the side and frees up a lot of real estate inside.
I made my own screw-on magnet before those were available. Bought rare earth magnets at the local surplus store, with holes already in them. I also have one of the smaller boxes with a belt clip, which came from the surplus store as well. Been using these for quite sometime now.
I think the kickstand idea is brilliant! Cheers, keep up the great videos.
You are an awesome guy!!! We all appreciate your reviews and all your videos. Keep up the awesomeness!!!
For any photographers, we have Peak Design Capture Clips that can be bolted to the Milwaukee tool boxes. Then you can attach the boxes to ANY belt quickly and easily. We also have 1/4”20 neodymium magnet mounts that can hold about 10 lbs.
Just wondering how long it takes him to complete a home improvement project?
Dude seems to operate in overdrive when he’s motivated and has a goal. Probably surprisingly quicker than most people out there. Not to mention he’s likely the owner of the construction company and not the one swinging a hammer anymore. Can you imagine working for someone who operates at 2x speed?
Interesting, but your killing me with the way you say RARE EARTH MAGNET 😂😂😂😂😂 love this channel
I sometimes use it to check the threads of a 1/4" bolt to confirm that it is in fact 1/4"-20 (which is what I often use with SnapToggle anchors). That's the most useful function I can think of. I've tried the kickstand thing just for fun, that could potentially be useful, but I never carry that bulky case with me anyway.
I always wondered why anyone would want to attach a drill bit case to a tripod..
use a magnetic gorilapod. you could use one of those fasteners to attach a belt clip.
Well, time to buy a bag of 1/4-20's, a few magnets, and some epoxy. Thank you for revealing the answer to "What the hell is this for?"
My guess for why they dropped the belt clip is that someone went up a ladder and the bit box came down way before they did.
Good idea, and good guess, I’m gonna ask Milwaukee why they “Dropped” the belt clip!!
If the magnet doesn't go on sale im thanking you ahead of time for the DIY tip.
Dude I like the meat of your vids but the intros are too long. Get to the point. Keep up the good info
Lmao said something damn sometimes I just want them to say what video is I don’t need the “jokes” and pointless skits just show me some thing damn it not everyone got mins to waste lol
I've said that before, but he doesn't listen. Now I just skip through the beginning, because I know he's going to rattle-off for a good three to five minutes.
Guys. Y'all do realize that these guys are in business of gathering the largest crowd and getting the most views possible on here right? If you don't have the time to waste. Then get off of fkn youtube. It's called personality and a sense of humor. Get one
Great video, you crack me dude! I like the kickstand option also. I'm a diy'er and I was wondering what that was. Haha
My guess is to hang them on a wall in your garage or shop, peg board or a sheet of wood, whatever you can think up, everyone’s got different and good ideas 👍🏻
The magnet can hold fasteners and make them temporarily magnetic to stick to your tool...
I've always wondered how that would attach to something. To bad the cases don't flip together like the DeWalt cases. Thanks for doing the video!
Probably their tests for the belt clip was turning up multiple failures one and the most major of which I can only assume was that the nut in the case would eventually after X amount of times tear out or the latter of my two ideas was the case would open/it'd get snagged.
Something awesome about those boxes that I found out recently is if you have an old one they will hold Bosch daredevil paddle bits perfectly
I did build a unistrut bracket with 1/4 rod and stand off claps worked pretty good but found out it’s better to have them with me where the works at,so most of my kits made it back into my packout.great vid Vince love the intro music!!!
I feel the same way as you about setting them up, I’d rather have them in my bag!! Thanks Ray!!
Thank you Vince great to see you demonstrate many uses of tools we are not aware of.
I love what Milwaukee is doing. They are coming up with all kinds of ideas
Many tradespeople use this feature, Milwaukee listens to their customers!!
There was just no reason for this to be a 7 minute video
Yes! This vid was 5-6 minutes too long. I was reading the Comments on this vid while I was watching it. About the 5 minute mark I realized I had been bamboozled! And so had everyone else. You want to make this a 7 minute vid (and be fair to your audience) you should have had a smoking hot blond in a bikini demo’ing the things you tried fitting to the Milwaukee box.
Gotta love that 10 sec. Skip function UA-cam offers. Agreed too long unless you skip in order to get what you're looking for.
Wow! Thanks again Vince for enlightening us on the use of our tools and accessories!
I have to say, “I REALLY appreciate your content and your personality, with your channel and videos!” Provides me a lot of insight into tools and systems. Thank You!!!
I had to check to see if this was released on April Fools. 😂😂
The toolboxes have 1/4-20 bolt holes as well so you could use a double threaded stud to attach too the tool box.
Almost a million Views!!! That’s awesome VCG!!! LOVE YOU GUYS, Vince you told me on TTR to inbox you so I can come out to PA and feature on a TTR!!! I would totally fly for that any day of the week, but more realistic this summer
They also fit prefect in the hard cases if you cut spots out for them in the inner liner. I have a hard case for the 1/2” drill and 1/4” impact combo, I keep my 1/2” drill in it and cut out for 4 bit cases and can still put my charger in when I need it.
You could probably put a screw and lanyard to strap it to your tool belt if your working up high.
Thread in a bolt and put the bolt through one of the screwdriver holder holes on top of your ladder so the box doesn't fall off.
That's a great addition. I can magnetize my bits now
My case came with 3 belt clips along with my m18 drill and 1/4 drive impact and I made my own magnet for it and made a carabiner clip and strap . The clip you had didn’t look like mine , mine looks like the one on you impact on the shelf behind you . My favorite one is the strap w/ carabiner it’ll hook onto anything !
That magnet is slick....slap it right on the side of the drill press!
So slick that it will slide down other slick surfaces and fall off anyway.
These cases also nestle very nicely in to the back cavity of the rolling Packout box. The angles match up perfectly.
I'm a videographer and i use these bits all the time in my studio. In filmmaking everything revolves around a 1/4 20. I can use both the magnet and the nut in the boxes for so many things.
My honorable mention would to have something between 2 of the boxes that allowed them to be relatively stacked and connected but allowed them to fan out to allow you access to both simultaneously.
Now I can keep my bits on my fridge!
I think the reason Milwaukee doesn't sell the belt clip anymore is because the nut will pull out of the case. If you look at the case, it shows the nut was pressed in from the outside instead of the inside. So when walking around with the clip on, the case would fall off & spill everything.
You are right I didn't know that, I went into this video saying yes I know lol
I always thought it was for a tool belt clip.
Hi Vince, you recently reviewed Milwaukee’s little red shockwave toolboxes. Any idea why the bits are so hard to get out? I’m not fond of having my fingers slipping on a drillbit trying to pull it up and out of a too tight holder, and slicing my finger open. DeWalt has a much better style. Flip up 90° and pull the tool out with no effort. I’ve resorted to putting a small stubby screwdriver in the box, and prying up from the bottom on the bit shank until it breaks free. Much savings on Band-Aids!!!!
Love the channel Vince. Videos like this are info that other tool channels just don't provide. I predict 500,000 subs a year from now. I've owned most cordless brands, currently rocking the Ridgid line with a few Milwaukee 12V thrown in.
Wow Doug thank you so much we really appreciate the kind words! it's hard to beat the LSA of the Ridgid!! Ilove my M12 tools!
Damn thanks for that. Going out to get the magnets asap. They'll be nice to hang my boxes on the wall in my service truck. 👍
"For some of you watching this, maybe it's not ridiculous." LOL
I use these for my job and find that the latch can easily break. I've had 4 break the internal latch from falling a few feet and one from a grill cart tipping over on it (10-15lb rolling on table onto box also on table). May be that they found the latches too vulnerable to impact for a belt clip to be useful. Still awesome boxes though
Kickstand makes the most sense. Thanks for educating viewers like me. #DIY #VCGfamilyforlife #Goodtimes
I like the kickstand myself! What other ways of using the fitting can you think of Victor?
VCG Construction I think retrofitting a screw/nut and bracket like an old phone belt clip so I can pop off when needed. somehow make a row of clip on/off storage. Makes sense in my head but could be an idea. Lol 🤔😂
Just like most people I like having my kickstand Vinny doing an awesome job keep it up
Can yall do a comparison on mac tools bel 151 vs milwaukee 1/2 impact? Thanks
A really great use for the hole in the back of that case is to take a little piece of light weight chain that you can get from the home center and screw it to the back of the case then screw the other end of it to the drill press in the shop... now the bits are always there and never float away.
It's also handy in retail establishments when you want to have a demo unit and you want to secure it down somehow so it doesn't walk off
Now I got to get a tripod for work.
I'm wondering if the belt clip is no longer available because it wasn't a tight fit on your belt and they slipped off and fell. Hitting a co-worker with a falling object is a safety issue and they probably got tired of replacing the cases after breaking from the fall. 🤷🏻♂️
The threaded insert on the Milwaukee cases are nice- I threaded some cheap magnets in them and stick them o thr side of my rolling tech cart
Oh, I could use that to mount my deer trail camera to the box and set it on the ground.
The main reason they have the super duper secret 1/4 20 nut is because guys have waisted miles of good 3m electrical tape, hiding the helpers tools in the ceiling... So Milwaukee said *Voila* ... screw the box right to some all thread! The kid freaks out, everyone laughs and the boss is very happy because only time was wasted... no tape!
Yep I knew it talkin about the 1/4 - 20 thread insert. originally that was an accessory for a magnet on an M12 work light and they also offer hooks
New guy here , just want to say I'm learning a lot thinking of switching careers to electrician, I have IT and heavy mechanic also infantry and cybersecurity experience , but holy cow I like Milwaukee, and my sthils and thanks for information brother , my brother and I are finishing basment on your tips with dry wall , you tube needs more Vince !
Lmao I KNEW you were a Philly boy once I heard ya said “tawlking”. Right across the river from ya in Camden county!!
I never even thought about what it was for but when you started the video I immediately thought of taking the belt clip off the drill. I have to admit I tried putting the drill on my belt and it's just not practical.
Id rather have my drill cliped to my belt... A drill falling from a ladder is much more thant 10.99 that these bits cases start at... I speak from exp.
I use the belt clip to hang a drill on my pant pocket if i'm just putting in a couple screws and dont have a tool belt on. If I'm really working and have my tool belt on, I actually find the best place for the belt clip is to hang the drill in my hammer loop. I also find the belt clip handy to hang drills in the part or a step ladder that connects the 2 legs. But yeah, never actually use a belt clip on a belt. Ryobi used to make a drill bit set storage rack called the "dock it". The mikwaukee sets look like they should fit, but dont. I really wish Milwauke would come out with something similar because my problem isn't what to do with the sets when I'm using them. It's how to store them nicely when I'm done. I probably have at least 10 of these mikwaukee boxes.
Best bit boxes out there ran one over with a scissor lift one time and it survived with little injury
Sweet. Always wondered. Now my life is complete. Thanks. 👍
I watch a lot of dumb videos on UA-cam, but this one takes the prize !
Dude acts like he just discovered buttered toast... Please don't do a 7 minute video on that either.
Hi Vince.
Thanks for the heads up.
I would never have guessed.
Thanks Pete, we’re trying to let people know about some of the smaller features built in to their tools to make them more productive!!
Nice I see you got the Ridgid Stealth Force and Milwaukee M18 Surge hydraulic impulse drivers up there, I have both of them too plus the M12 Surge! I love the hydraulic impulse drivers, they are way better than the standard hammer and anvil impact drivers. They are nice and quiet with consistent torque and less vibration on your hand!
Oddly as a mechanic...that magnet on the bit case...helps keep the case stay put under the hood of a car while your working on it. I've known about it for years actually!
"Is this real stainless steel? NO!" (Surprized laugh).... LMAO! Oh man. Nice video though. Thanks
New to your channel and it's awesome to find someone who's strict to Milwuakee great contact, and my minds blown from this haha.
... I put on my box a belt clip from Makita because the rest don't have a bigger hole, I have to cut a slot in to the box but was worth it .
Omg... I need some of these cases so I can put my drill bit collections on display for guests!
Sorry Vince, It was actually completely designed for me. It's actual intended use is to be screwed onto the work area in a secured fashion so that when I can't get the bit out of the case when I need it, I can't throw it at the wall or window, thus creating more work for the tapers or glazers. There, now you're in the know!
Always wondered what that was for but I’d never use those attachments lol
Me neither, Now i'm trying to think of other ways to use the nut adapter!!😂😂
VCG Construction a few days later I still got no ideas.... this is going to haunt my Milwaukee’s every time I use them
Been watching for awhile. Subscribed. Nice to know about that Makita case hidden storage. Def never knew that. I'm an electrician almost 30 years now. Point Pleasant NJ over here,
The gorilla mount on a scaffold is genius!!!! Can’t tell you how many times I have my Milwaukee box flipping back and forth from screw tip to 5/8 drill bit.
Yah, I use the magnet exactly for that purpose... great for up high work! Thanks for the video Vince
Good job sir. Love the video. I never those of the magnet. Lol !!!!!!

Thank goodness UA-cam has a fast forward feature. 7 minutes for 20 seconds of content.
Also when the box is opened the gap in the middle is there for your fingers to have a secure hold w/o dropping them
Hi, I'm from Israel, I love your channel, you are funny, and I also love Milwaukee's tools. Thanks for all the ideas and reviews.
I like that magnetic attachment with the box. The DeWalt boxes don't have that option. 50k soon guys!
Lol I was going to ask you to do a video on this after you did the video on the dewalt tip

Ok now I want to be able to attach the gorilla pod to some other work related items🧐🧐
Bro all my tools are Milwaukee and you finally answered that question I been wondering for like 2 years good work. You now have my vote
Sorry VCG I am a fan of your videos but this time I have to call BS! Everyone knows 1/4x20 is the correct size and pitch for the uranium powered flux capacitor. Secretly used by your shadow organization to retrieve that sweet 80's techno sound byte for your intro.
Also 99% of people dont know that you can slap industrial velcro to the box and mount it directly to your impact case or drill case like I have on my hitatchi triple hammer.
very interesting. I had never even noticed that screw hole on my shock-wave cases before.
Yeah I noticed the bolt a few months back and wondered what it’s for ever since!!
Lol I enjoy watching this channel 😂. VCG krew!!!!
Hey Vince! I love your channel because of episodes like this. I think you should do your own version of the old, "The more you know!" thing at the end of these types of videos.
We can add that!!
I believe the questions asked once before on a life stream what that was for and I mentioned it was a 1/4 - 20 threaded insert for a magnet accessory that was originally offered for an m12 work light, but that they also offered a hook
I believe you are correct fine sir!
Thanks again for the info always good to informed on things like this
