At least Ruto empathizes with what is going on. Remember how Kenyan Presidents were in the past. Let us thank God that we can criticize the president in his face in today's Kenya. Nyayo house tocher chambers have been abolished and the president is under the law. But, change takes time and let's hope that Ruto's vision for Kenya will get to fruition. He has good ideas but people don't understand what he is trying to do. Developed nations have depended on taxes in order to get where they are. In USA and UK, we pay taxes, but we see what governments do for their citizens. Kenyan leadership needs to utilize taxes and provide for jobs, healthcare, education, and good infrastructure. I hope that Kenyans could calm down and give President Ruto at least two more years to institute a change. But a lower tax bracket should be embraced for all Kenyans. Free governmental development won't work without the "tax-contribution" by all citizens. It is impossible to run a country without utizing the tax revenue paid by all who earn income in a nation. Even if Ruto were to step down, no one would bring magic to Kenya; no one will meet Kenyan-youth demands in a day. All citizens must work hard and contribute to nation building. But corruption cannot continue to be a way of life. Actually, Ruto is not the problem, the problem are Kenyans who have lived through the motto of "chai kidogo". You get what you want because of who you know and not because of what you know. That mentality must be changed. Job opportunities, especially, must be granted to the citizens based on skills; but not based on favoritism. But the government must provide opportunities for education and technical training in order for people to acquire the skills. The government must create career/job opportunities for the citizens. Corruption (or chai kidogo) must be elimininated in order for all citizens to have an equal opportunity to thrive in their nation. Nothing else will suffice to make an impactful change in Kenya. Also, beloved Kenyans remember that throwing stones/rocks to police must not be tolerated during protests. People are free to speak peacefully but are not allowed to steal from others or destroy property or injure others or kill others. Those who violently demonstrate must be dealt with by the law enforcement. If you protest peacefully, discourage the person next to you who might protest through physical violence. Let us use our democracy correctly and things will be fine. Let us listen to each other; let us listen to the Kenyan President Ruto. President Ruto must also listen to Kenyans - and so are all other Kenyan leaders. We have no other Kenya to go to. Then, why destroy our beautiful country. The only way to resolve is through dialogue - communication! communication! communication. Let us try it and stop tensions that will make our country unlivable like other dysfunctional neighboring countries whose citizens take refuge in Kenya. I love Kenya and I love you all.
