There was an article a few days ago explaining while "olde-timey" broadcasters sounded like that. It was a combination of very weak microphones, and the "Mid-Atlantic Dialect" used for broadcast journalism.
Hello, I am putting together a short 5-minute film to screen outside at a community event run by a local charity in Cornwall, UK. It is called Bike Lights and is a procession of local kids with their bikes all lit up. This year the theme is 'Flying Circus' and my short film celebrates the idea of tricks and stunts in the sky. From Alan Cobham's original Flying Circus up to the modern day stunts performed by pilots, paragliders, skydivers and anyone else playing in the sky. Would you mind if I grab a short 5-second clip form your video? It is non-commercial, will only be viewed by about 500 people at a one off event. I wil credit you at the end of the video. Hope you can help, Toby
That final line really underscores how little was thought of women. “Despite the grease stains, she still managed to look frail, feminine, and even coy.” Can’t have a woman looking strong and threatening frail masculinity…. Women kicked, and still, kick ass.

Its that darn phone
She's literally a great granny or a granny right now
@@XBLspartanx170 Someone could literally do this now. I doubt that it's illegal to privately do this. It's just exceedingly dangerous.
