Thanks for reply got all my parts now going for 1000 x 1000 9best for my work bench your vid very helpfull for ideas, will post pics of mine when finished
Hi Jonathan, Thanks for checking out this video.. I'm going to be making a couple of update video's on my Ox, it's had some up dates to it :) Here's a link to some step by step build video's put out by OpenBuilds.. Enjoy :) ua-cam.com/video/nS32b55ouQk/v-deo.html
hi tod wonderful cnc router can I ask what the whole price for this build cost. As i would love to build this for a future project ounce my workshop is fully built. And up and running. You did a great job. And a decent size too I've subscribed by the way. Thanks in advance 👍👍👍
never mind the question Todd just seen your comment to the same question. But am going to ask you buddy where did you get all the parts if I may ask I'm based in the UK. So not sire if that's going to make any difference with purchasing the parts.
Hiya Mark, check out this link link below. I've purchased all my parts from openbuilds.com and I believe ooznest. It looks like they have oX kits to! ooznest.co.uk/V-Slot?gclid=Cj0KCQjw3drIBRCOARIsAO-hZCnFh-hkmjv-36smsId_yLYf5NrqwxX4Nohb9cpjMpk82GrYcQ0IhJEaArLvEALw_wcB
Can you please make a video building one of these with the arduino side to, I can do stepper control off my pc but how to build one is hard to grasp for me and I so want to build one
Great video! I'm having trouble finding free CAD drawing software. I see in the video that you used Google Sketchup but when I go to their cite it appears they only offer free 30 day trials. I looked into SolidWorks but it is way over priced. Any thoughts on this? I appreciate the help.
jerrypetri ... I originally started with the Bosch but switched to the Performax brand from Manards just because it can reach a lower RPM (10k), and it's cheap :-)
Just finished my ox, same size as yours. but having trouble with the grbl settings. 750 x 1500 mm . xpro v2 controller board. 24v power supply and grbl panel, (also free). nema 23s all around x-y-z. when homing machine wants to go to back left position. should be front and left? I'm sure this is all calibration problems. any help would be awesome. Thanks
northwestone1 Yes, you should be front and left of your table. Their are a couple of different ways to reverse the desired axis. In this case the "Y" needs to be reversed. You can reverse ONE winding pairs, or you can set your "invert mask" ($2=2).. Check out this link for more info... I hope this helps :) github.com/Spark-Concepts/xPRO/wiki/5.-Troubleshooting
thank you, i did fix the problem. i should have been more clear with the problem, i was referring to the homing cycle finding my limit switches on the left side and not the right as they should. all is good for now. next step cal the steps/mm on the stepper motors.Thank you for your assistance i do appreciate any advice as this is all new to me.
+Chad Walker Hi Chad.. My build is not on the openbuilds site. Unfortunately I have not had much time to post my build there. I am going to be make a updated video to this one as I've made a few minor changes and learned a few things that I think some folks would find helpful. I can certainly pass my grbl settings, if you are on the openbuilds forum just send me a message and I will pass my settings on... I have to verify my current machine setting with what I have recorded.. I think I made a couple minor changes and have not noted them yet :) oops lol ... My user name on OB is The Todd
Nice machine, thanks for posting. I can only imagine that it is very satisfying watching your machine cut. I'm hoping to be there soon.
Great video. I mainly like the concept of making your own brackets and parts for other projects, ...or for another CNC machine.

will post pics of mine when finished
I believe that the "extra digits" are keeping track of partial steps.
Looks like you got it working pretty good! Awesome job man!
Wow im super impressed by this machine is there by any chance you can do a step by step how to build it! I love your work

hi tod thanks for the info I'll check them out.
Lovely machine, stumbled upon this by accident, but how does it cost so much? (not counting the router)
Nice, can i know stepper motor torque?

Why did you change your spindle motor from a Makita to the Bosch?

How much did it cost to build your cnc .
About a thousand dollars.... Worth every penny!
ok thanks, couple more questions. Do you get any flexibility or loose any integrity in the rails? also can you produce 3d images [wood] or 2.5?
please check your open builds messages. thanks.
Thanks Chad.
+Chad Walker You have mail bud.
Add a vacuum attachment
