I believe IT was a product of a fantastic coach in Boston. I guess we get to see if that's true now when he gets more touches in L.A.

The Lakers surely made this trade in order to free up cap space going into the off-season,(IT and Frye are both on expiring contracts) so frankly he may not even be in L.A. long term anyway.
So a coach made him average 29 pts? Im not a fan of I.T but thats impressive kyrie is better but he avg 24.7 in the same system. And the amount of clutch shots he made last season he deserves respect. Hes like the only active player who scored 50 in a playoff game that cant be just the coach. He is playing like the worse player in the nba but he didnt even get that much time to adjust. And Lebron needs to be the leader. When Kyrie, Love and Lebron started it took them 39 games to figure it out.

Kyrie had made the adjustment to being a more selfless player in that system so I think that can account for the point differential.
Steven's had IT come off of multiple off ball screens prior to taking dribble hand offs which gave him excellent positioning and advantage in attacking, not to mention that he surrounded IT with long athletic guys who could switch on defense to cover for his deficiencies in that area.
I would LOVE to see IT prove me wrong but I think it was Shannon Sharpe (who I normally can't stand) who said some thing to the effect of "maybe Sacramento is IT, maybe Phoenix is who IT really is, maybe Boston was the outlier"... which is what really got me on this line of thinking.
Huge caveat however is yes, he is injured and not back to being himself.

Got rid of clarkson who wasn't on tempo with the rest of the team, always seemed to be running his own plays on the court, ball hog, never made that extra pass until the last 10 games arguably. I also want to note that he's on a second year of a $50 plus mil contract. Nance is my fav of the two, def a team player, wish he couldve stayed, but regardless he is a little injury prone. As for the lakers if IT is able to switch back to his old self then we picked up a steal in addition to the two max players whom we opened up cap space for (if lakers are willing to keep him). We also got a first rounder, and Channing who can help clean up the boards a bit and perhaps hit two 3s a game for us . Should make the rest of the season for us laker fans a bit more interesting to watch! Lets say IT breaks out and the Lakers somehow make the 8th seed hmmm!

Hart has played much better than IT this year and is far and away a better defender and rebounder.
In his rookie season, Hart is already one of the best defenders at the guard position. He can defend multiple positions including forwards and he's a beast on the boards.

CatACor IT was great in the right system (Boston) where he'd never really done much before then or in Cleveland. He was clearly pushing to get his numbers in Cleveland to get a max contract, in a system not built around him and with a bad hip. I know he never asked to go to Cleveland, but it was a bad situation for him and the Cavs - a bad marriage. All of a sudden, Cleveland looks a lot more viable to win the East. IF IT goes to L.A. and tries to throw his 5'9" frame around there, he could continue to face problems like he had in Cleveland.

Mohammad Shahin Being the star player doesn't automatically make someone the leader. LeBron certainly was not the leader when he was with the Heat, Wade was. And, given that LeBron could not convince Irving to stay in Cleveland, it seems reasonable to consider that a more natural leader would have succeeded in keeping Kyrie from going to Boston.
