- Whether you're just visiting or you've just recently moved to #Qatar, trying out the local #cuisine is a must. From traditional Qatari dishes to Middle Eastern favorites, Mr. Q is bringing to you ten of the #foods you need to try!
Start with Balaleet for breakfast, then try Machboos, Saloona or Thareed for lunch and dinner, and have Luqaimat, Umm Ali or Kunafa for dessert. You can also try Shawarma, Samboosa, or Regag in between meals because why not, right?

Kunafa is called in Turkey Künefe and it cannot be described with words you need to try immediately and luqaimat is also similar ve call it lokma traditionally served with syrup and more contemporary way is to fill inside with various flavors like chocolate, pastry cream. LOVES COMES FROM TURKEY ❤

Machboos is similar to biryani?
Biryani is mixed white rice and yellow rice machboos is brown rice with strong broth ( so to answer your question no it’s not similar to biryani )

Qatari people have an excellent taste when it comes to good food. That is why too many ignore it. Also this UMM ALI looks almost exactly like the food we traditionally serve every Christmas for dinner but only with a different name and raisins are like the most essential and important groceries in our cuisine. Similar also counts for Luqaimat and we also fold our pancakes before eating and put some jam, honey or powdered sugar onto them.
