I really appreciate how honest you are about your strengths and weaknesses. I think that lack of ego on your part is why your channel is so well liked. Love to see it!
Would love a part of this series to be where you get a pro or coach to review your own gameplay with you like Jordan Briones, kyle kazuto, tanner, or maybe even Amrik or Annik
I play a new drinking game now. Every time Chris Ernies and foot faults I take a shot. Haven’t been that drunk in a long time. 😂 Love the honesty from Chris, that’s why he keeps getting better.
19:01 honestly my best tip on waiting for the counter is to already be thinking in patterns. Like speeding up on your backhand to their backhand and then looking for a forehand counter. The simple decision of looking for a counter to put away the ball and thinking about your speed up as setting up your counter will keep you more mentally engaged on the counter. This is just what works for me personally
Chris, you gotta topspin roll those out wide forehand dinks especially if they're at or past the kitchen line. It's too easy to do like you said and pop them up because you have to push more for a slice to work.
Love this series. Love the game play break down. As an older brother, I feel for you losing to Aizec, lol. Love what you do, and what you stand for. Thank you for giving us fair honest reviews and also inspiring me to get better at pickle.
4:14 I need a lot of work on this shot as well. If you figure something out, be sure to let us all know! I'm more comfortable hitting a back hand slice drop than a forehand slice drop. Couple things I'm trying to work on: - Better footwork (yours looks pretty good to me btw but mine needs work) - Dropping middle, if they hit a very aggressive shot (instead of trying to go back cross court) Other than that, I think I just need to drill the shot against a wall some until I'm comfortable with the slice motion.
I only slice drop my forehand going inside-out or straight on. Going crosscourt it's actually easier and more effective to brush up on the back of the ball and roll a dink or drop.
10:23 Oh man, I think this was also a foot fault :P -- pause it at 10:32 and look at the right foot planting right before the jump -- it looks like the toes clip the line. Amazing play though, even if it didn't quite work out that time!
Chris you seem to like your backhand more so why not start at the kitchen line with your backhand ready. Not so in the middle. Personally for me I feel like being back hand ready allows less stretch to the backhand. Just a tip also in the forehand cross court reset you seem to hit flat maybe try to allow a cut forehand coming down on the ball to allow it to stay low. Also seems to pop up when you don’t move the feet at the kitchen.
I've been told that regardless of if u were behind the kitchen when making contact, so long as u land inside the kitchen before the ball is returned, it is considered a foot fault Tho I'm not sure how correct that statement is
It's great! Probably what I would call my "main" right now, but I use that term loosely. Hard to have a true main these days with all the paddles being reviewed. But I do find I play well with it in competition.
Thanks for the response! I just got one and played with it this past Saturday for the first time . I’m going from a six zero black diamond and it was a bit of an adjustment for sure . Feel of the paddles are very similar stiffness wise which is what I like , but the j2k does require a bit more effort which makes sense since it’s known for having great control. Excited to see how it goes the more I use it .
I think if Chris could lock his wrist and lift the ball not slap at it, his 3rd shots and dinks would improve so much. John Cincola's video on hinges is so helpful.
I just made a post on reddit yesterday where I referred to various stereotypical players as "Mikes". Nobody got the joke. But yeah, everybody is named Mike in pickleball.
How can you have an 80% win rate at any rating and yet still have that rating? Are you just getting demolished whenever you play people worse than you? Because otherwise the math doesn't jive.
Refs call them correctly in most pro games. But yea that's why I don't like ernes in non officiated games. No one really sees the foot faults and would probably not call it on themselves.

This would be awesome!
Chris being too nice by not mentioning getting hooked at 38:12 😂
Chris, you are being pretty hard on yourself. You held your own. Fix those bad habits and you belong there ❤

Love these kinds of videos Chris - please keep making them!
Bro your anticipation is amazing, loved the way you took that ernie, regardless of stepping on the line -more of that please!
Love the content ! It would be cool if you can list the paddles everyone uses if you can just curious what people are playing with.

Your getting better Chris Keep on Grinding brother!!
Man you ripped some of those 3rd shot drives with such speed, love to see you do that more often!
Good job Chris! You should work on your counters. If you only use blocks, they will keep targeting you with speed-ups.
First thing I notice... the guy with 487 million paddles is playing with a J2K.
Love this series. Love the game play break down. As an older brother, I feel for you losing to Aizec, lol.
Love what you do, and what you stand for. Thank you for giving us fair honest reviews and also inspiring me to get better at pickle.
Love this format, would be a nice addition if you could add paddles used by every player and their DUPR rating 👍 Keep up the good work 🙌
What paddle did you use? 👀 Looks like a J2K?
Your BH 3rd shot drops looked more consistent with good form. If you’ve been working on that, I see improvement.

You guys played Jack Sock. David moves like a jock … willing to bet other sports in his background.
Is Aizec playing with a B&B Shogun?
He is indeed

Nice play! One question, what kind of ball do you guys use?
What paddle did you use for this game, the J2K? Pro?
9:29 is that a foot fault if both feet were in the air while making contact? you cleaned the line when landing as well.
I've been told that regardless of if u were behind the kitchen when making contact, so long as u land inside the kitchen before the ball is returned, it is considered a foot fault
Tho I'm not sure how correct that statement is
Yes, foot fault because he didn't reestablish both feet outside the kitchen before hitting the ball. He stepped on the line when jumping for the erne.
David is spirit animal out there
Thoughts on j2k after using it at this tournament ?

Random question: Is sam using an Olympus?
Yup!

bang ball was my favorite 😂
Something small you should call out given all the reviews you do is what paddle you’re playing with beforehand.
hes using the J2K from what I see in the video.
So many MIke's. When you hit the net you Miked It!
I just made a post on reddit yesterday where I referred to various stereotypical players as "Mikes". Nobody got the joke. But yeah, everybody is named Mike in pickleball.
Bro would love to match in with you guys, Dupr is 4.5 but have an 80% winrate at that rating. Think we could have some fun! South Suburb based

Love the shirts.
Is David not with pikkl anymore?
for the forehand cross court dink: try changing your grip to a super open grip.
The hook at 38:12 is almost as egregious as your never ending foot faults.
Did I hear "Chasing Five O"? Because I'm certain I just watched "Chasing Three Point Five 0".
Never seen a 3.5 move with so much moxie
my j2k loves drips
I bet >40% of Ernes are actually some kind of foot fault... You can never see it in rec, and refs rarely call it.
Refs call them correctly in most pro games.

Was Chris’s wife watching the match against his brother
Where do I purchase the 'stack' sweatshirt? So funny as I'm a lefty and grew up in MN and it is the first question I ask when I go on the courts.
Yeah you might actually be a 3.5 at best
6:28, your partner called out another shot that was very much in.
Naw if you go .25x pause and zoom you can see it’s out. I thought the same thing at first
@@sogoodgolf Only noobs use .25x. Try period and comma, lil bro.
