- Manchester City have recently submitted a planning application for their £300m proposal that includes the expansion of the north stand. If approved, this would see the capacity of the stadium increasing with 7,700 extra seats, taking the ground’s total capacity to more than 60,000.

Good stuff, though I would have preferred rounded corners on the new additions to match the stadium theme.
I remember what this area was like before they built the stadium , it was completely derelict ... City has been a great thing for Manchester in recent years
Still some improvements to be made there's a few boarded up pubs, metrolink and bus transport, train links need to be improved and also extra capacity car parking. MCR council need to up their game on those parts
No it wasn’t I was brought up here there were shops all down Ashton new road Bradford pit was were the ground is. Cinema. Pubs not exactly derelict

As a City supporter a little younger than you...Mid 50s I was in the position of my father was in the armed forces so I visited Manchester to visit my grandparents 3-4 times a year for weeks at a time over the years until I moved to Manchester myself in the late 80s so it was really noticeable watching the flow of support between the two clubs over time as a kid in the 70s South Manchester was a pretty much 50-50 split supporter wise... Although other parts weren't as close to be sure.. By the time I moved to the US in the mid-90s it was much more United focused and by the time I returned from the US in 2010 it was what you say in reverse. Clearly as you say success breeds support, I happened to go to a meeting with the club.... going to say 2010-11 something like that and one of the concerns the club had at the time was City had the oldest fanbase in the topflight, that would seem to support what you are saying
We can fill the stadium though, that’s what’s even stupider about their comments. 99.6% of capacity on average last season, only Newcastle had a higher percentage of capacity.

are you suggesting that united fans come from outside of manchester, read the post 13 up, from nigeria.
Man City will have more "outsiders" as fans now and in the future, when you become successful you going to have a large international fan base.

A good idea to increase the capacity of the Etihad to 62,200 this seems to be the norm for the big clubs in the EPL to have capacities of over 60,000 and Man City are no exceptions
If stadiums werent mostly landlocked by housing and shops - these clubs should be thinking even bigger. Unfortunately Old Trafford, St James Park and Anfield are surrounded by roads, heritage listed housing, train stations and shops.
Otherwise they should be planning much bigger.
ManU, Liverpool and Newcastle could probably fill 80,000 or more stadia going by the reports of waiting lists and some fans waiting up to 32 years.
Why will they fill the stadium need to be investigated
@darthpepe2994 All these big clubs fill 97-99% each home game.
Whatever seats aren’t filled are due to factors like families on holiday, illnesses etc, like the reason why you never get 100% attendance at a large company on a daily basis.
Liverpool would still fill a 90,000 stadium 98%. They apparently have fans still on a waiting list for season tickets after applying 30 years ago.
@darthpepe2994 City had an average 96.8% attendance record last year.
@darthpepe2994Due to opposing fans failing to take up their allocation.
The whole region in being transformend into great footballing and sporting district. Locals will benift a lot for sure.
The Etihad Stadium is becoming a fortress in Europe and with the new plan and screens the fans will enjoy the best experience.

hello brother Can I take some clips from your channel and show them on our channel in Arabic, and we will mention your channel in the description box
The idea is good but the design js ugly
Hope it doesn't end up like Camp Nou. Barcelona is broken for 2 reasons, paying referees and expanding their stadium which is pointless since Camp Nou is already the biggest stadium in Europe and couldn't even fill their stadium due to how expensive the ticket is.
think they should have gone for 80000!
Is the family stand concept picture exactly what it is supposed to look like? I imagined it would look the same as the south stand, but I have to admit I really like the idea of a massive second tier. It can become our own yellow wall.

instead of adding 7,500 more seats, take 7,500 seats out and they still won't fill it.
