Thanks a lot, I was near the same solution you found, but with some lil hints you provided I replicate in a great way the talk box tone for "Pigs" by Pink Floyd. I added a dedicated cab sim for the tone box tone, the 1x4 PIG 57 (to partially replicate the tiny small cab of a tone box)
Such a great tutorial. Thank you. One question for those of us that don't have a lot of coordination with our hands and feet - Can you set this patch to be triggered like an auto-wah or by how hard you hit the note without an expression pedal?
Thank you! You absolutely can! My video for Livin’ On A Prayer (the first one, not v2) goes into it a little bit. You would setup the Control knob to an Envelope Follower…then go to Controllers, Envelope, & mess around with the Threshold until it sounds good for your playing/touch sensitivity. (There’s also a video on the channel about Auto-Wahs that really dives into this topic) You could also set it up to work with a Sequencer, then be very specific about the Envelope/Threshold where that Sequencer begins. Risky, but rewarding! It takes a bit to get that coordination between hands & feet, for sure! I’d say it’s also worth dedicating a few minutes each day to getting used to that in a controlled environment (like home/studio practice). Incredibly useful skill to develop that no one really talks about when developing guitar technique! Hope this is helpful to you! Let me know if you have further questions on it ^_^
@@guitarguru186 Thanks for the detailed explanation, that makes perfect sense. Your videos fit my learning curve and ability so well. I hope that your channel begins to resonate with a lot of Fractal users, you're filling a huge gap in my opinion. Thanks again!
What’s the difference between placing it on the top / above grid vs placing it straight between the amp & cab block on the same line? The Formant block gets more/less signal this way? Stands out more? Great video by the way, thanks :-)
Excellent question (and thank you)! That has to deal with running FX in series (all on the same line) or in parallel (running/being mixed separately from the main line). There’s an in-depth video explaining that on this channel (Series vs. Parallel FX) that should help explain that better for you ^_^ Essentially, it allows you to independently add FX & be able to adjust each of them without interfering with the overall level or tone. Ex. Putting a Delay & Reverb in parallel at the same point on the grid (as I run them most often) makes it so that the Delays don’t bleed into the Reverb, or vice versa. • In this case, I separately adjust the levels of the dry, Formant, & Wah sounds
🤣 the most rocking math lesson! While I’m unfamiliar with “TalkBox” in arithmetic (save for prattling professors), these Fractal videos are basically math lessons 😆

Awesome! I’ll have to try the Pignose as well.
A bandmate of mine uses that to power his TalkBox & it sounds great ^_^
@ add a 800/1000hz peak in the filter block for a more nasal tone

Again, another great explanation!
Thank you 🙏🏻
Thank you sir
My pleasure! I hope this helps you rock some TalkBox tones in the near future \m/
Cool sounds great
Thank you! Happy TalkBoxing 🎸

@ Thank you so much 🙏 I have an FX lll on the way so trying to soak up a lot of info :-)
Muy útil 🙏🙏🙏
Gracias! 🙏🏻
Wow! I gotta try this!
Absolutely! Let me know how it goes 🤘🏻
simply 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you! I'm hoping this helps everyone rock out a little harder with TalkBox tones ^_^
Nice 😊
Thank you! 🙏🏻
I've clicked on it, expecting it to be a math video and was very confused for the first minute
